I just want to comment on how adept you are at articulating your states of heart and mind with such precise language, that is an ability that many neurotypical people struggle with. You have worked and struggled hard for it, and it shows. I'm also just blown away by your warm expressions and demeanor. You've grown and it shows. Im glad that you know that gaming helps reduce stress and helps maintain your resiliance. As a 53 yo, I can tell you that I am still working on being self-aware and non-judgemental of myself when stress begins to affect me, and when it does, I do exactly what you are doing - notice it, talk to someone about it, and turn to my resiliance activity menu! We are all works in progress. Your last two videos were excellent by the way. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much Lisa for your incredibly kind and thoughtful words! They mean so much to me and are truly helpful. I do feel a bit better after reading your comment!
Hey Stephen schizophrenic internet friend here. I totally understand and the other day I could hardly convey my feelings at my psychiatrist appointment I got overwhelmed and exasperated, and the next day I was like man there was so much I meant to tell her lol. Your feelings are valid and I'm glad you're insightful so as to know when to take a step back. I hope YOU have a happy healthy restful day sir.
Hey Stephen, thank you for sharing you're real time struggles! It's very relatable as we all experience it but it can certainly exacerbate symptoms. One thing I'd suggest is weight training. I know you do a lot of cardio and at home fitness, but just the act of going to a local gym can move one towards being more social, the benefits are obvious and the stress reduction is immense. I've been an on and off gym goer for years and recently got back into it. The most important benefit I've noticed is the feeling of self accomplishment, as well as the gains 😁👍 There's plenty of great resources here on UA-cam to get you started! All the best! ✌️
You are a rock of sense Stephen. Know thy self they say. Thanks for sharing, your coping skills are impressive. Hopefully this episode will be short lived. Our good thoughts are with you to help you recover.
Stress is very difficult for me also. In fact I broke down and cried in front of my therapist today. However, I know I’m doing better than I have been because I didn’t have an increase in my symptoms and no thought of self harm. Trying to look at the positives. Thank you for sharing and being honest with us!
Hi Stephen, I'm so sorry you're experiencing stress. It's not fun for sure, but I'm glad you were willing to talk about it, and show us how you're feeling. That takes courage. You're taking the right steps to get relief. I sure hope you feel better soon. You're a great guy!
I am truly sorry to hear that you have been feeling so stressed. I am very hopeful that you will get over this period soon especially with the support you need. All the best to you and I am glad you at least enjoyed the kung pao chicken, small delights in what can be a very challenging world.
I'm bipolar I with elements of schizophrenia and activity that I enjoy the most is playing video games and listening to youtube at the same time. As far as stress is concerned, I find it happens from time to time in my life (I guess in everyone's life too) but I manage it so much easier with medication then I used to before. I hope yours go away soon :) Best wishes Stephen, to you, your dad, and everyone here.
You are handling stress like a champ Steve. All my simpathy and positive toughts for you. Something that helps me with stress: Any kind of craft with my hands.
A new fan of your videos. I’ve been watching them all lately as much as possible, they’re very helpful for me. I think you and your Dad’s relationship is awesome and it’s similar to me and mine, the way they just want to help and actually be involved. Anyways Thanks for having the courage to be out in the limelight and helping break the stigma. Keep it up! 🤘🏻
Hi Stephen, thank you for making that video. I understand everything about being stressed but you will make it through. I hope your heart rate gets better with time.
I think it's amazing how aware you are and you really helped me when I was in a dark place, so thank you! Just some friendly advice, but that is the wrong word. You seem a bit sedated and bit flat, and I don't mean this in a rude way. I also experienced flatness but it really lifted after I started taking Lamictal for anxiety and depression. Maybe it's something you could bring up with your psychiatrist. Let me know your thoughts, hope this helped!
Hang in there, Steven. You seem to be doing well from my observation, despite everything. Spices are psychoactive, meaning that they can make mental illness worse. Maybe it's your way of dealing with things, I don't know. Also, alkaline foods, such as the Kung Pao sauce, are very good for your physical health (just watch the sugar and the preservatives), but can cause mental disturbances, too. I hope you are having a wonderful (or should I say better) day, too. Thanks for posting.
Do you see your anxiety as a symtom of schizophrenia? I do not have schizophrenia but have the same anxiety you have and on the same medications for it. Beta blocker works well for me.
I do see my anxiety as a symptom of my schizophrenia. However I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder as well. It may be due to the negative symptoms of my schizophrenia, though I am not sure. Thank you for sharing! Have a happy and healthy rest of your day!
Hey Stephen I'm sorry to hear you are stressed, although may I ask is it stress or pressure? Either way taking a step back and allowing oneself to unwind is probably progress. 🙂 May I ask how your Dad is, he was looking somewhat stressed too...
Maybe try a new hobby like fishing. Even volunteer in an organisation. Or see if you can work a couple or few days a week. Something to pass the time. They say time flys when you're having fun. So try replace the procrastination going on in your head. Up to you mate 👍
