The journey for me has been enlightening. I "was" a diehard Trillium disciple as I work next to Fort Point. Treehouse became my next door neighbor in Tewksbury. There was a transition period but I have fully embraced Nate's approach. Treehouse's flavor profile and approachability are unmatched. Big but smooth or soft as Nate says. Blessed to be a neighbor of Treehouse.
Wow, this was really, really insightful and a good watch! Keep up the good work with UA-cam. I am really enjoying this journey you've been taking us on.
Nate, in my opinion you have been making some of the best home brewing content on UA-cam. I’m still sipping on the home brew recipe you posted and everyone I’ve shared it with agrees it is quite delicious. Each video you share imparts wisdom that helps make my brews better, and this is all coming from someone in California who has never even had a sip of TreeHouse beer! Thanks for the videos. Cheers 🍻
First trip to monson was 4/2/16, I believe we left with no cans & about a dozen *new* growlers of haze. This beer sent my love for craft beer to the next level and will always have a special place in my heart! It’s been too long, I need a pour.
Haze was the first Tree House Beer I had on 4/23. I paid an arm and a leg to get one of those cans all the way to Arkansas :) worth! Started my love for your brewery and still going strong 7 years later. Hope to visit soon! Cheers from Arkansas
I really enjoyed this in focused look at one of your core beers, describing your intentions for making it, how it is distinct from other beers labeled as Double IPA, and from beers in your core line up. It was also cool to see what the key flavor components were meant to be showcased in your core beers like Green, Julius, and Haze. I would love to see more videos like this that take a deeper dive into a individual beer in your line up. Thank you for all of the content you have made in general, as it has really helped me appreciate your beer more having a deeper understanding as to how it is produced and philosophy that goes into creating them.
I remember waiting in the cold for 1.5hr the first time we went to Monson and I was ready to write the whole thing off until I got home and tried the 4 cans of Very Hazy we got. Converted for life! Best brewery in the world
Haze is the best beer you brew imo. As a home brewer, I’ve chased the incredible balance you strike with Haze. I’ve learned it’s pretty easy to make the very hoppy turbid (no adjunct) IPA, but the balance in Haze escapes me. Thank you for all the great videos and keep leaving us home brewers Easter eggs!
Mission accomplished. Treehouse beer is very unique and every style I’ve had from your brewery is solid. You can taste the love and passion in every sip. Cheers from Uxbridge.
I live in Texas. One of these days I'll get my hands on some Tree House beer. I only had a few that friends have brought over from their travels. I would love to make it out there one day.
I really appreciate the work you put into your beer, I've been all over the world and had the privilege to sample some amazing beers. It's made me want to make and start a small tap room myself.
Really enjoy the videos! My friends and I travel up from wester PA twice a year to bring back Tree House beer! Haze is by far one of my favorite beers. In fact plans have been rescheduled to ensure Haze will be part of the haul back home. It is enjoyable to learn about the thoughts and process that goes into making a Tree House beer. Keep up the good work and hope to see you in the fall.
Wow, the dedication to your craft is inspiring, as is the team that helps you reach your goals, I have been to Charlton twice and it was evident every second I was there, the only downside was I could only try three beers out of the 20 I was interested in, and it would be a year til I would return again, it's like waiting for Santa
Love these videos. I get hung up on trying to get my hands on the latest and greatest and venturing outside the great offerings outside of the IPA program that you guys have put forth, but it’s a nice reminder to sort of reset the palate and go back to the OG’s more frequently. Keep the goodness coming ✌️
So glad you finally started carrying tin signs in your merch store...I have a large Haze sign prominently displayed in the primary position of my "tin sign wall of breweries". Great beer!
Please make this beer accessible to us non New England residing folks….Southerner here, look forward to tasting this these fine brews some day…….been a hazy head last 30 years when first had Widmer Hef…first recollection of opaque yeast induced brew…
Green used to be my goto flagship but been moving towards haze in last couple years! Juice machine has always been my fav beer from TH! Especially from the old Monson days... release days for JM were crazy!! It would be great to have a video on JM and it evolution. JJJuice Machine probably one of the best ipas I've had.
Haze is my all-time favorite beer since I first cracked in 2017 so this was a joy to watch. In recent years, I've found some batches of Summer feel very reminiscent of Haze. Are they similar in construction?
Big fan of the channel, and Haze is (depending on my mood) pretty consistently my favorite beer on the planet. So, thank you! Most importantly, is that pendant light in the background supposed to be a hop?
What temperature do you recommend storing the cans? I notice that the cans change quite a bit as they sit in fridge sometimes get thrown out of their balance
To me Sap, Green & Haze are the beers that sold me on Treehouse years ago. They still are and when you compare the cost of a 4 pack of these to 3/4 of other IPA's they cost less too.
Nate. Tell us how as 5 gallon homebrewers we can maximize your hop flavors. Is it hops during active fermentation and biotransformation, double dry hop, whirlpool etc etc. Love to get some tips from the brewery with the best beers on the planet.
You guys broke the code when it comes to beer-making. Balance between hop bitterness and malty sweetness is what makes TH stand out among the rest. However, I’m surprised you didn’t touch upon the yeast. I know your proprietary strain plays a major role in bringing out the best beer on the planet.
Two questions, 1-whats your cap in total bbls youcan produce & 2-how many lbs or tons of hops does that require? Great channel, love the insight into your company and passion for craft. Cheers
We are outfitted to make about 150k barrels with the flexibility required to stay creative. Our current throughput requires over a quarter million pounds of hops each year.
The hands down 🐐 THBCo beer IMO. Loved this succinct overview. Maybe would have been more popular than another if only it was also (unintentionally) named after a phish song 😂
Yes! That little hit of resin on the finish that you get with Haze, in addition to the remarkable peach expression, and bubblegummy yeast, is what sets it apart. Often what I find to be lacking in most beers is on the finish. Aroma, and to a lesser degree, mid palate, is easy - it’s the way that a beer finishes that sets it apart. For a while, IPA makers were experimenting with no hot-side hop IPAs. Those were not good. While they are very different beers, the beers that come to my mind when I think of quintessential NEIPA are Heady and Julius. Neither has been replicated all that well, especially Heady. Juicy Bits is a pretty strong Julius clone. Fiddlehead (to a lesser degree lately), Focal, and the Substance fit somewhere in between. Tastes seem to have shifted towards fruity, ripe ipa that’s lacking in what you might call old school bitterness or resin.
I live in Riverside California. Is there any way to purchase your product online and get them shipped to my home address? For a long time I have heard about TreeHouse and we have no access in So Cal. Anyone know?
I’m really curious about your eschewing of the traditional NEIPA label. I think my take from the outside is that while your brewery was instrumental in creating the NEIPA category and “scene”, and bringing the broad category of “less bitter, dramatically more juicy, less malty” ipas to the beer zeitgeist, there’s certainly a difference between the big brands presenting in this broad category. I’m not sure I understand why you wouldn’t classify a beer as a New England ipa per BJCP and general guidelines. It’s never the case that all beers within a style category are the same so I don’t think that pigeon holes you at all. I love the fluffy body of your beers though and to me that’s one of the defining features (along with the balanced bitter finish, and more rounded hop profile vs some of the more astringent / hop burn experiences I’ve had elsewhere). To me I think of a hazy ipa on a range from light and bright to soft and round. Im curious how else you could describe the mouthfeel or body. “Round” doesn’t really mean anything but that’s the word that comes to my mind!
Seriously, how do you have time to do these videos? Appreciate that you make the effort, but, don't you have beer to brew? The latter part is important to most of us!
What was better about the beer that they made in Monson? What specific qualities made it better? I’ve heard this a lot and I wasn’t around for the Monson days, so I’m genuinely curious.

Haze is and always will be my absolute favorite beer from Tree House!
Update: I got to try out Daze in a four pack purchased last Friday night. This for me levels up everything from Haze I love!
Absolutely nailed the description. These are the things I look for within every batch I get from you. Perfect.

@@treehousebrewco who could I possibly contact within the brewery about an upcoming festival? It’s a long shot I know, but can’t say I didn’t try!

Haze was the first sip of a hazy DIPA I ever tried back in 2016 and my life changed forever.
Treehouse and Hill Farm are the best in the country. Hands down.

well done Tree House - incredible world class beer
I love how each of the core beers has such a unique consistent profile, Alter Ego is my favorite!

Thank you for the comment. Indeed that is the point I am making in the video. Stay diligent!
wish more breweries would do more content like this.
Just an amazing Beer!! Cheers to your crew and see you very soon
Such a great beer. Thank you for mastering the best beers on the planet. Your efforts are appreciated with each sip.
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoy it.
Thank you for your openness.
This video should be a must for all homebrewers. Really inspiring to watch how you conceived all your core brews.
Thank you. 🙌🏻

I'd love to taste your double IPA......I've watched all you vids, very educational for a home brewer here in Australia. Keep them coming. Great work.
I really appreciate the work you put into your beer, I've been all over the world and had the privilege to sample some amazing beers. It's made me want to make and start a small tap room myself.

Love this channel and absolutely love Haze! That little dose of bitterness is perfect, and as you’ve said before, “entices the next sip”.

What! You define what a hazy NEIPA should be and what other breweries are striving to achieve.
So glad you finally started carrying tin signs in your merch store...I have a large Haze sign prominently displayed in the primary position of my "tin sign wall of breweries". Great beer!
My favorite TH beer ever!! Cheers 🍻
My absolute favorite (Very) that you do, as a homebrewer it was cool to get some insight into your philosophy.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Might have to take another road trip to their location. So worth it.
You snuck me in again - this internet fame is starting to get to my head :D. Haze is by far my favorite IPA/DIPA that you make!
Drinking a Haze while I watch!
That’s the way to do it!!
Haze always my favorite
Love this! Really want a Green one :)
The weather is not hazy. Perfect to hit the greens at Tewksbury.
Please make this beer accessible to us non New England residing folks….Southerner here, look forward to tasting this these fine brews some day…….been a hazy head last 30 years when first had Widmer Hef…first recollection of opaque yeast induced brew…

I've always been on Team Haze 💜

There are similarities but distinct differences. Summer is much more orange-forward given the hop make-up.
Love to hear! Summer / Haze / Treat Family my favorites. Making the trip up from Philly on Saturday :) @@treehousebrewco

Fridge temp. Don’t allow them to become warm at any time

My all time favorite beer
it's 9am - damn! now i'm thristy
Man !! We need some of that beer out here in Whittier California !!!
As a home brewer in Mexico can you recomend any good ingrediente supliers that supply all ingredientes need to BREW?

Best beer on the planet imo.
Can your beers be purchased through any online sources.? I live in Montana and obviously can't buy Treehouse beers locally. Thanks
Do you guys ship your beer?
Top stuff....can l buy in the UK.....have been learning about Low DO brewing from German website..... Important in this style.
Any hints on the hops used?
They can and do change to hit the flavor profile we want.
Great video as always. Can you guys do a video on brewing process and how you avoid Hop Burn in your IPA’s? Thanks!!
@treehousebrewco do you have a homebrew recipe for this one?
