  • This Bobov Wedding with Rabbi Shlomah Halberstam zt"l the Grand Rebbe of Bobov at his Great Grand-daughters wedding is so special that I had to edit it from the Documentary 'A Life Apart' and upload it for others to enjoy as much as I do and Im no chassid. But I appreciate the beauty of it. To see such modesty and piety by the Bride and Groom you wont see anywhere else. And of course the late Bobover Rebbe himself Rabbi Shlomah Halberstam zt"l doing the Mitzvah Dance, it is very very special and very rare to see if from outside the group. His dvekus (clinging to G-d) is but to behold. I hope you enjoy it and the niggun of the Mitzvah Dance as much as I do. Sing along with this niggun and feel the Kedusha (Holiness) flow through your veins and choke your eyes and voicebox. It does it to me everytime.

    I had the great zchus (merit) to see the Bobiver Rebbe light Chanukah candles, following which he gave l'chaim to every single person in the beis medrash as we lined up to walk past him. I'll never forget that loving, warm, happy smile he had in his face as he greeted each ine of us oersonally. We beed Rebbes like he was. humble and loving.

    For anybody wondering, the song sung at 2:45 is the song that the Bobover Chassidim sing by their Mitzva Tantz and while I don’t know its specific name, if you want to find the tune, there are still videos being uploaded today of the current Bobover Rebbe dancing to the same tune, as in this video: ua-cam.com/video/thFD_aXa_2I/v-deo.html

    Wow, to watch your great grand daughter's wedding! Especially after a catastrophe like the Holocaust. May she bring forth multitudes indeed. May she bring forth brigades. Living well is indeed the best revenge. The future belongs to the fertile. Hasidim will repopulate the Earth.

    • @isaweesaw
      @isaweesaw 2 роки тому

      I saw a documentary that uses this same wedding clip, where the Rebbe's son(or grandson) explains that the Rebbe has 10 children and 72 grandchildren. He'll probably have 400-500 great grandchildren at that rate
      At the current rate of growth, Hasidim double in population every 20 years, just like the Amish. The future certainly belongs to these groups

    • @VictorLepanto
      @VictorLepanto 2 роки тому +1

      @@isaweesaw Well, there are other groups of similar fertility. Evangelicals have the
      "Quiverfull Movement."

    • @Volvi373
      @Volvi373  2 роки тому +1

      Mostly goes according to 'minhag' (tradition) of ones father, group (sect) or Rebbe. Different sects have different style shtriemels, taller or wider etc. Some as in last few frames wear a Kolop (borsalino) they are equally as orthodox but are worn by those prevalent in the business world so theres a slight conformity. Kolpik might also be worn by those yet unmarried. Shtreimels are worn by Ballei batim, ie married men with families. PS. I am not chassidic so am no expert, but from what I understand.
