  • Randy and the guys dive back into the monster car hoard to extract another beauty to prepare for sale. This time it is a wild 1940 Ford coupe hot rod with a very surprising massive Hemi wedged in under the hood. Turns out this flaming beauty and its "Fire Power" engine are a perfect recipe for some "pyrotechnics" upon start up! Get your extinguishers ready (or a good greasy rag) and watch the crew bumble through the revival of this bodacious beauty!

That one brings back memories for me. The very first model car I built was an AMT 40 Ford coup. I built that thing every way possible and then went at it again. At one point, it even had flames that were very similar. Seeing the hemi in there was a treat. If I was going to buy one, that would be it. Sadly, I haven't got that kind of money to spare now. I would like to talk to you about some engine parts for my 55 DeSoto. With everything that is there I'm sure they would have the few parts I need. What is the best way [other than Facebook] to get in touch with you?

Does that radiator bolt up to the stock body mounts? Any idea what brand it is? My 347 powered 40 needs a new radiator, I would prefer to find one that will bolt up to the stock mounts. I was using the old flatty radiator with the two extra holes blocked off, not getting the job done.

No clue unfortunately, but I know it’s too tall for the hood to close all the way!

@@Carchaeology thanks for the reply. I was wondering why you didn’t close the hood. Just an aside, that car is an exact copy of a local car in my area. Same flames, same wheels, the only difference is the local car is SBC powered and the gas filler is behind the tail light.

@@Carchaeology as I was removing the trickle charger from another ‘40 Ford I own something occurred to me.
Are you sure it isn’t the hood latch that is preventing the hood from closing? On one of my cars you have to push the latch hook up out of the way before the hood will close completely and you can push the outside latch down into place. Otherwise, it will only close to the same position as yours and the outside lever can’t be pushed down into place. In other words I think a weak spring lets the hook return to the hood closed position while the hood is up. Prolly a dumb question to an experienced car guy but I thought I would mention it just in case…
