The beauty and appeal of the original B-Uhr pilot watch design is in its legibility and simplicity. This watch is ridiculous, and shows how out of touch IWC is with their customer base.
I think it shows how skilled IWC is at watchmaking, and how innovative they are at design. The original is still available for all who wish to own it. Nothing wrong at all with reimagining a classic design, if the classic design is still available for purchase. Would you consider the automobile, medical care, or communication standards of the 1940's superior to today's? If so, you have no business on UA-cam comments section.

The price is a joke when you think that the Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement is 100 K. But if people pay for it... 😂

It's a 51-piece limited edition, so it does not really represent the entire collection by IWC of course :)
