How is this good work and it is truly sad many young black men have no sense of direction. There are menace to our neighborhood and quickly to blame the other man. They are being exposed for a few views or pennies. While their own children are fatherless, they consider their women hoes and bitches, most wont work, they sell drugs to mother and father of the black youth, and most of us are afraid because they will killed you because of the neighborhood you live in or the color you wear. Most can not vote because they are felonies. Sadly, most of them do not own no property or any other damn thing in their neighborhood. Please tell me I am lying. They do not know the struggle and it is very disrespected to our forefathers who did not have the luxury of finding a decent job.

Kids as you can see there is nothing here. Everybody tries to make it seem like it lit, but it's all a facade
I'm fascinated (and frankly haunted and saddened) by these videos. I'm a resident of downtown Atlanta and walk the very same streets that appeared in that previous video. I occupy the same space but live in an entirely different world.
I think these provide an important look at life in Atlanta. It's not always easy to watch, but important things aren't always easy. It's hard, frankly, not to be judgmental when I do. Even just simple things like the way I articulate myself are so different. I think some people see this and think how great all this is. I don't. It's mostly heartbreaking to me. I don't find any of this aspirational. I do admire people's survival skills in circumstances that I'm sure would break me. But I try my best to watch, put aside judgments as much as I humanly can and just take it in. It is life. Right there.
I do want to emphasize, though, this is just one slice of ATL black community life. I am a white man approaching 60 and have lived here more than 10 years. My next door neighbor, my property manager, my best friend, several other close friends, my physician, my dentist and numerous colleagues are all black or a person of color. And I can promise you to a person the lives depicted in this video would be almost as alien to them as it is to me.
Miko definitely has documentarian skills. And he's going places others aren't. I don't think he necessarily needs to be the one to go out and examine middle and upper class black lives in ATL. Everyone has their niche. I hope he starts digging deeper where he is, though. I'd actually like to get to know these people beyond their upfront bravado.

I come (born and raised) from a ghetto in Kenya - East Africa. Poverty, segregation and lack of resources makes life harder.
No matter how creative, talented or skilled people are, there's still a very big gap to success. It isn't easy, especially when money is a factor when success is involved.
I am 39 years old now and that's a miracle, when living in such dangeroushoods.
As a black man from atl who's lived in the Westend I highly doubt characters like these would be alien to your black friends.

It starts at home. You have to have two loving parents that raise you right. I have always until this day wanted to make my parents proud. This life style will only get you two places in life …judged by 12 or carried by 8.
Some people make it out. They livin to the best of their ability and how they were shown or seen. Its instilled in them. Hopefully they realize change only happens when they want it to.
Even in single parent household's in the middle in the worst communities, you can make it better for yourself but you have to want it and work for it. Unless we change how we think, we will never break this destructive cycle. We are the chosen people, we just have to realize it and promote it.
