People need to behave like responsible adults! If you are a pedestrian, don’t wander absent-mindedly into the bike lane. Also, don’t walk in the bike lane! Cyclists need to slow down around pedestrians and when another bike approaches in the opposite direction. Common sense, but not common behavior. I biked on the Tappan Zee today. I yelled at 5 adults today, three for not paying attention where they were walking and two for blatantly walking in the bike lane like jerks. When it was clear, I hauled ass responsibly in high gear and had a nice ride.
It's a great idea but there should be one on both sides of the bridge, that way one lane for people one lane for bikes and everyone is going the same direction.
If you compare it with George Washington Bridge walkway, It is good enough. I felt that there are adequate spaces. People complains for almost anything they do not like.
Walkers jump into the bike lane without looking, and I’ve nearly crashed multiple times Then you have the walkers who refuse to get out of the bike like
With all the tax payers money used on this crappy bridge they should have made the bike lanes wider and separate from the dump people who can’t follow directions
They could just add an additional barrier parallel to this, same width as the existing path and make that a high speed commuting/cycling lane, keeps it separate from the slower traffic on the current lane and just ban adult cycling on the existing lane. Everyone’s happy.
The cyclists that crash on the Tappan Z are the ones to blame not the pedestrians your the operator you need to be in control when pedestrians are around.

They should’ve just done that. It costs a lot though so at least there is a lane.
Just drove here last friday. Fascinating and scenic bridge.
Happens to me Everytime I cross the bridge with my bike and their right it's an accident waiting to happen

I know tell me about it
It's not a bridge path design problem rather a human courtesy problem.
2:25 It's the babies in stroller that will increase my fears. Even an elderly walking, like this reporter who got injured.

I do Uber Eats my bicycle and sometimes go on the Bike Path I don't want to take anyone to court
I yell at adults who don’t pay attention.
I had a pedestrian cut in front of me and nearly hit him (I breaked extremely hard that I went over my bike and my bike went straight up

Tappan Indians had their name taken off the bridge, and the gov. named it after his family. oh and INDIAN LIVES MATTER
At least they should put a door for emergency services.
Way too loud due to traffic noise. Need to line the traffic side with the plastic paneling used at the rest stops
Sorry...ITS THE TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE...
Please call it The Tappen Zee Bridge! or The Tap! Mario M Cuomo? LOL LOL No one calls it that! And never will!
Widen the path!

Stop complaining about every thing new that is created.
It should only be walking lanes
Them roided up road bike heads always speeding to get their fastest time on strava
🤣🤣🤣🤣

I walk the bridge a lot and some cyclist go way too fast. NY should start fining bikers that don’t obey the speed limits
" the father of 2 a...holes bridge"
