Chioma I’m a nurse in my 40s and I love your page. Sometimes I do sex and hygiene education for girls and young women in my community and remaining aware of what’s happening on social media helps me remain aware of relevant trends. I have so many thoughts from 20 vs 1 to Seggy visiting kids in schools……my heart just breaks for Black children because the over exposure to sexual content and vices and the lack of nurturing is robbing them of their childhood and innocence. On camera it’s all fun and games but I’ve cared for 100s of patients and many folks who are really about that life do not end up in desirable places in their lives.

I’m sick of the lack of originality. Really?? Another twerk challenge? I liked Meg’s verse and it reminded me of how she was on realer, but the overt sexuality looks really bad for us as black women. That’s why I try to separate myself from all that. They can call me bougie, stuck up, quiet, whatever. All this stuff follows you. What people don’t realize is that when you have rich parents who have carried you your whole life, never taught you how to fish and never intended for you to fish (aka be married to the available highest bidder) and then their finances don’t pan out and then they drop you, you’re left scrambling, trying to figure out life from square one at your old age. And sadly you never may…that’s why Aoki is behaving infantile with this guy.

At some point y’all have got to take accountability for the content y’all consume and push. With the exception of this channel I don’t engage with content like this so what I see on social media/ the perception I have of black women is not what I see on this channel. I get that the whole point of this channel is black mainstream media news, but maybe that’s the problem. There are black people that are in other spaces doing amazing things and it doesn’t get talked about nearly enough b/c “we” want to sit and talk about the negative/degrading things some people of our race put out. I just want us all to be apart of the change we claim we want to see and that also be reflected in content we make and consume.
I fully agree with you, I don't consume content like this much either but I think people need to add magnification to what's good representation instead of magnifying BAD stuff by talking about it so much and saying "this is wrong" without anything useful in terms of dialogue
