Awful video, he does not understand basic rules of the game, he also doesn’t understand that the ref needs to keep a certain flow to the match and not pausing for a red every 5 mins.
DillsburgFc_32 well if the ref needs to give 6 red cards he has to, tho like Ik what u mean I’m not saying that Simon is right. It’s just that in general the ref needs to give the right amount of punishments if needed.
Simon needs to be replaced. Every single one of these videos have so many incorrect interpretations. He doesnt know the rules and is wanting to send everyone off
So it's ok for the Revolution to get red cards super early but not for LA. See Sunday's game in KC and J Dos Santos foul in the 1st minute. same foul, but even worse. studs up tackle into the shins. Where is the consistency?
Consistency? From MLS refs? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, wait, you weren't joking. Yeah, about the only consistency from that bunch is that they are consistently bad.
If you're referring to the thing with the keeper. It's not a red. It should have been a freekick, But I am a qualified referee in England and the first thing you're told is that football is a funny old game and you have to factor in circumstance. Even by letter of law its a yellow not a red, its not violent or denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, and due to the fact its obvs a mistake I would have not booked him, but given the free-kick. We forget that at times it can be hard to hear with all that noise around, and if the crowd has whistles/is whistling too.. So I think the ref should have given a freekick though I understand why he didn't but to me that's not a booking
P1tri0t fifa officials arent any better, it aint just your league with poor referees, most leagues have poor referees but they also have good referees too, look up Scottish refereeing standards.
The MLS is such a screwed up league 😂😂😂 I don’t even think any defender knows how to tackle properly, and then you have these amazing refs who are never wrong
For one, how is Kouassi's even a foul? He has every right to kick that ball away and there was no possible way he could've avoided Hines' leg at the same time. Just because you have to walk one off doesn't mean it has to be a foul. It's a rough game.
Shit ur playing different rules than most European leagues...he got the ball I don't think was a red card. I like the use of camera reviews but pointless if rules aren't clear.
Fotis Bazakos needs to be fired from his position. I don't think I've seen him ref a single game that didn't have multiple mistakes in it. He has been a bad ref in the past, is worse now, and will only hurt the refs for the future. I generally hate refs ngl, but he is not Pro ref worthy. I had a play in like 5th grade rec games just like when the Galaxy gk walked out of the box and that was called correctly unlike whatever the hell happened here. I'm just saying, some random 5th graders dad was better at reffing than Bazakos
Just for the notice: When you review an offside play here, would be acceptable to freeze the moment that VAR uses to decide, wich is the first contact with the ball for passing.
Poor video quality. MLS should do this in HD 720p or better or don't bother. After all, this isn't just ordinary game footage, you're judging whether referees are making the right or wrong calls during game play and it's difficult to see your point of view with poor footage.
Koussai won a loose ball knocked away from Kei's feet. There's no cause for red. No no attempt of injury worthy of yellow. There's not even a Fu(king foul to stop play in the slide!
Damn, the first red is not a red card at all. Didnt tuch the player at all. Even though he comes in with a straight foot it isnt a red card. In my opionion it is just a freekick
So so many mistakes from Simon and the refs in this vidio. Nearly All the penalties is dives, the red cards is so wrong and Simons comments that it should be a card is just funny
Every one who is saying Simon needs to be replaced should chill! Simon is awesome, and a call that you might think is a mistake is just your opinion on the play. Everybody gets to have their opinions and why don't we all just respect each other's opinions.
if this guy was the ref the both teams would end up with 8 players on the pitch
MLS has a poor referee standard.. must be so frustrating for the european players
Why do some of these replays look like they were shot in the 80's?
David Diaz EEEEYYY toronto fc
Elijah Terry bruh just stop columbus is doo doo
Dont need contact for a penalty, are you joking with me?
Who else but Clement Diop would just walk out of the box with the ball in his hands?
😂
Awful video, he does not understand basic rules of the game, he also doesn’t understand that the ref needs to keep a certain flow to the match and not pausing for a red every 5 mins.
Are you on drugs?
I agree with you there but he needs to stretch that run time.
DillsburgFc_32 well if the ref needs to give 6 red cards he has to, tho like Ik what u mean I’m not saying that Simon is right. It’s just that in general the ref needs to give the right amount of punishments if needed.
What are you on???
The referee for the Seattle-Vancouver match was fantastic, one of the better refereeing performances I've seen in the MLS
Simon needs to be replaced. Every single one of these videos have so many incorrect interpretations. He doesnt know the rules and is wanting to send everyone off
Pikajew321 Can you give me a few examples
Pikajew321 controversial plays.
You get a yellow card! You get a yellow card!
Every match abandoned through excessive yellow carding
Lol, you got what you asked for HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
So it's ok for the Revolution to get red cards super early but not for LA. See Sunday's game in KC and J Dos Santos foul in the 1st minute. same foul, but even worse. studs up tackle into the shins. Where is the consistency?

There is none, MLS needs to contract FIFA officials and stop using the crap referees we currently have.
P1tri0t fifa officials arent any better, it aint just your league with poor referees, most leagues have poor referees but they also have good referees too, look up Scottish refereeing standards.
This guy doesn’t even know the rules😂😂
“ he’s not playing the ball, he’s playing the man” im ded
You made many mistakes in this one, Simon. Sorry!
Chosen Wisely Can you give me a few examples
Literally every single video... At least half if not more of his statements are just straight wrong
This is coming from a certified ref btw
_Quetzalcoatl_
No, they are not. You are massively exaggerating. Simon usually does 2-3 mistakes in every video. Come on, man!
Exactly he gives red cards for nothing at all
Arriola no red card. Bad angle and there was a D.C player coming back to defend.
These videos convinved me of how unserious this league is, I support a Swedish team and stuff like this only happens max once or twice per season
This league is such a joke lol. I'd rather go to a U16 select teams game than a MLS game
get rid of him, and get someone who actually knows the rules of the game
I have to say it's suspect how much LA got away with.
this guy isn’t even an official and he’s better than every single one of them in the MLS
The MLS is such a screwed up league 😂😂😂 I don’t even think any defender knows how to tackle properly, and then you have these amazing refs who are never wrong
you need to get your facts straight there is so much false information in this video
Can you give me a few examples
Areola was never a red card challenge, the player threw himself to the ground.
For one, how is Kouassi's even a foul? He has every right to kick that ball away and there was no possible way he could've avoided Hines' leg at the same time. Just because you have to walk one off doesn't mean it has to be a foul. It's a rough game.
True true thanks
Also Kouassi didn't get a yellow card for his foul initially, it wouldn't have gone to video review if he was given a yellow
Mls soccer the most physical. They learn how to tackle from football and it translates over lol
Lol are you serious
Dynamo got robbed
Shit ur playing different rules than most European leagues...he got the ball I don't think was a red card. I like the use of camera reviews but pointless if rules aren't clear.
Yes I saw the dude get the ball and I was so confused because in most leagues that’s not even a fouls if he got the ball first
“You do not need contact for a foul” how
4:30 LMAO its a hand ball, he pulls it forward with his hand
Is it just me or is it a huge number of red and yellow cards in MLS. Must be really annoying to play in that environment.
Just for the notice: When you review an offside play here, would be acceptable to freeze the moment that VAR uses to decide, wich is the first contact with the ball for passing.
This guy is everything wrong with us soccer
is it just me or does this dude get slammed in the comments in every single video
Why do MLS refs suck so much? Im a San Jose fan. Some of these calls are ridiculous
If they were good they would be in Europe
damn how dirty are the Americans way to many cards for professional matches
Came back to hear Simon Borg. New Instant Replay is buns
EXACTLY
1:39 that’ll be popular soon 😂🤣
At least this is better than warshaw
The intro literally startled me
I never thought that I could watch an American commentate over football
Stop stereotyping us...
1:30 that is a foul he tried to step on the mans feet straight up, just because he missed doesnt make it less of a foul
Poor video quality. MLS should do this in HD 720p or better or don't bother. After all, this isn't just ordinary game footage, you're judging whether referees are making the right or wrong calls during game play and it's difficult to see your point of view with poor footage.
Fisher's tackle on Harrison... LOL. I was there, and that clearly was a pen. Can't believe the VAR didn't change the call
I was there, in the stands. With a great view of what happened. I swear.
That kuasi guy or however you say his name got the ball before he made contact with the other player
I would have not given anything
Damn Houston got screwed.
We miss you, Simon.
Koussai won a loose ball knocked away from Kei's feet. There's no cause for red. No no attempt of injury worthy of yellow. There's not even a Fu(king foul to stop play in the slide!
Hire better referees
Giovanni signed my hat and alexandrini
A red card!!!! Ur crazy!!! Imagine being him, a yellow should have ben given
Ball was hit first on the challenge, shouldn’t even be a card lol
I’m happy you’re not my ref
just wanna say shoutout to my guys at nbc sports boston, especially tommy heinsohn
It's red card for retaliation
Why is the video from MTL-NYCFC so poor quality?
Justin Bassett it's zoomed in
Best title ever.
Do Americans know how to play soccer??😂😂 so many fouls!!
Football*
Why are you here if you don’t like it
Ether these refs have to show less card or these player start to behave themselves
Mate you need to learn what the basic fouls should be and the refs in the mls are just shocking
I KNOW
VAR made this league unbearable
The one with San Jose and Chicago that should have been a pen because it still hit his arm.
what about the scissors against the revs?
The MLS is embarrassing. If they had better analysts and officials it would be interesting but this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Honest question- can a player be fouled in the box, receive a yellow for embellishment and receive a penalty kick?
Yes
Of course theres no red card for arriola. Triple punishment is no more when deemed last man.
This is not soccer this is wwe
Soo no one is going to talk about the time,9/11
whya re some cameras good but some suck?
Some mls refereeing is atrocious. How was that last one not a second yellow?
I think you are way too hard and you always say like oh that deserved a red card like 3:36 3:42 that was not even a foul
WHAT ARE THESE REFS
Damn, the first red is not a red card at all. Didnt tuch the player at all. Even though he comes in with a straight foot it isnt a red card. In my opionion it is just a freekick
What the hell are you talking about
You don't know football you are just saying that everyone should of had a red card
You must not know the rules
Football....... its football...
Not soccer.
Thankyou
Refs need better training.
Yeah that was aweful Simon, way too referee forgiving in this one. Wow the Galaxy referee was aweful!!
The d.c ny game where it was a pen he dived
Simons opinions make me sad
So so many mistakes from Simon and the refs in this vidio. Nearly All the penalties is dives, the red cards is so wrong and Simons comments that it should be a card is just funny
I think that Kaka just lost his balance. That doesn't look anything like a dive, as he didn't appeal for anything. he merely tripped up.
this is why Americans have their own type of football there is so much false information
This commentary is absolute shambles
Premier league should have this
Ball to hand doesnt exist...
This is why i dont watch the MLS...
Diop was a lop. Worse galaxy year ever
I think you should do a world cup edition
Wow people watch this league
That fc dallas goal that was called was a good call but that was plain selfishness from that fc Dallas player. It was going in why touch it?
You don't call goals they are scored stop thinking American Football and think football.
Omg, Kaka, what happened
MLS referees are so bad.
We live in the USA of course they are bad 😂😂
That guy commentating is really annoying
Dynamo deserved the win
This commentator needs to get fired
Every one who is saying Simon needs to be replaced should chill! Simon is awesome, and a call that you might think is a mistake is just your opinion on the play. Everybody gets to have their opinions and why don't we all just respect each other's opinions.
Because he's blatantly wrong.
Finally!
Mls sucks I swear😂 ruin the game
Mainly the refs
Then just leave you idiot
Horrid reffing
American commentators🤦🏻♂️
6:20-6:30 how is there not a card for either?!?!
i'm american, love soccer, but the mls and video review is a fucking joke
Simon
It doesn’t matter if it goes chest-hand, if it hits your hand/arm at any time during play, it’s a handball
Phoenix Gamer unless your hand is in a natural position
