Disney has gotten so creatively bankrupt and it’s very sad. Worst part is they know this blatant fanservice will still be a hit regardless if it ruins the flow of the story of the ride
Those prices for stuff made in 3rd world countries for $2-10 at most is criminal. Most theme park merch is overpriced but I feel Disney merch is the worst offender. Still loved the vlog and editing, top notch!
Unfortunately this is normal everywhere I go. Not just Disney. Everywhere. If you can find a spot not "over charging" for things let me know. This world is getting wild
I thought the movie was excellent. The Easter eggs were everything. I saw it in 4DX and had a great experience. However, I felt the advertising and timing for the release was very poor. The hat box ghost had a significant role and it would have been cool if the movie release coincided with the character's appearance in Disney World.

It’s crazy seeing people complain about receiving the Hatbox Ghost because Orlando residents were always complaining that their Haunted Mansion didn’t have the Hatbox Ghost lmao.
People love to bitch it things don’t go the slightest way right for them but 95% of the average park goer doesn’t carw

My Fiance pointed out during the beginning of the ride, there's a ghost playing the piano and you can see the shadow, does that not count as seeing a ghost? Although I agree they should add the hatbox ghost in the attic or in the graveyard.
You don't actually -see- the ghost, though, just the echo of its presence, like the floating candlestick. Although you could argue the guy in the coffin breaks the 'no ghosts before Leota' rule too. Unless the poor bastard was buried alive ....

What are your thoughts about the HATBOX GHOST Coming to Magic Kingdom?
He should be added somewhere in the graveyard, NOT in the hallway.
After thinking about it, I think we see a lot of ghosts prior to the seance scene. Before you go into the stretching room, the photo changes from young to old. Then you see the shadow of the ghost at the piano. The we see the footsteps of the ghost as you climb and go through that upside down portion before the endless hallway where the new hatbox ghost is suppose to me. Keven, what do you think of these prior points I made? I'm not 100% sure myself 😂, but that was what came to mind when thinking if there were any ghosts prior to where they are planning to place the new hatbox ghost. Thoughts?
Foot steps are not ghosts, skeletons breaking out of the coffin is not a ghost. The shadow playing the piano is a shadow. Not a ghost. DISNEY NEEDS TO HIRE DISNEY PEOPLE TO KEEP THE TRADITIONS ALIVE. Is it disappointing? Yes. Is it a needed addition? Yes. Bring back traditional Disney and Disney might survive this onslaught of negative publicity. But then again, it’s the agenda, deep down they love the wine communist crap and the poor direction is blatant proof they are under a agenda to turn everything upside down and reinvent the wheel for worse, never gonna be better.
WDW rarely shuts down a ride for any extended time for any reason (splash is a shocker). They aren’t willing to shut down the Mansion and spend the money to build a new hatbox scene like DL so they are just placing him in a relatively empty spot in the ride as quickly and cheaply as possible and don’t care about the story.
Maybe they'll change or add to the story so it'll make sense ... Disney hasn't put that much effort into things recently, so that may be a high hope.
I get the leota point but, the hat box ghost doesn’t really follow her rules or materialize because of her.(in the movie at least) So I guess that softens the storyline blow but yeah, Disney has been going downhill 🫠

I think I recall that the original Haunted Mansion was a compromise between David and Coats, one wanted a scary ride, the other wanted a silly one, so the first half was made scary, but when you see the ghosts in the second half, they are used for comic relief. I do agree that Hatbox being put in before Leota breaks the story, as well as the fact that his original placement in the attic seems to hint as to what Constance did to her husbands even more!
My last trip to WDW was totally heimbucked also…
Just got back from my disney world trip, and man when you said that disney park was in the dark ages I didn't think it would be that bad, but man, as a long term fan of the parks it was rough. Merch is pricey and there isn't nearly ad much diverse merch. It feels like the same few iconic characters get all the merch and there isn't a lot for others. Almost all the pins on pin boards were fake. Pin trading was horrible. You can tell cast are tired because I don't get nearly as much voluntary conversation with cast members, not as much magic and sharing fun facts. Parks have lots of little broken down parts. Getting out of magic kingdom at close was the worst I have ever seen it. Ride wait times were not accurate on the app. At animal kingdom there wasn't nearly as much unique merch and at pandora they didn't even have the male Avatar doll available, so if you're a guy wanting to make your own matching Avatar you can't. Plus all the merch is primarily the water creatures now. Still love disney, but man disney is cutting and increasing the prices on the wrong things. It really hurt to come back after 4 years and not feel the little bits of magic that I've remembered in all my previous visits.

Long time Universal Studios, HHN (original Fright Night attender), WDW and Mansion lover here - Grew up in Orlando. my 2 cents - Having seen the new movie, I can see where Imaginearing is going with the Hatbox Ghost placement. - (Spoiler alert) We see a quick glimpse of the Hatbox Ghost in the movie early on before at the same time the knight is showing his movement in the Mansion. We also know that the Hatbox Ghost is not under the control of anyone but himself until later in the movie. I have to believe on some level they are adjusting the storyline of the Mansion to fit the movies storyline while adding this new element. Look forward to what else is coming - We will be back in O-Town for HHN and other festivities the week of 9 October.

The hatbox ghost placement is definitely a tie in to the movie. And as you said it ruins the story theming. Totally wrong placement when they already have a place in the attic.
I loved the new Haunted Mansion movie. Agree those that aren't Disney/Haunted Mansion Geeks aren't going to pickup/understand some gags, but this movie "Is a FAMILY FUN movie!" as for Hattie's location I'm unsure Imaginers have much input into things anymore. Very sad! I'm wondering if this could be a technical issue we're unaware of. Space constraint, Power Issue, or lighting affect issue. There's got to be a better place available.
The ghosts shouldn't be in the McMansionland Playground queuecophony either. What storyteller puts the finale before the prelude? Most of that mess was built from ideas the original Imagineers rejected.

Don't understand the fascination with the Hatbox Ghost. Yes I get the nostalgia of it but the effect might have been impressive for the 1960s but not so much for today. Also, very out of place where they are going to put him in Magic Kingdom. Putting the storyline issue aside, everything in that scene has a very vintage feel to it. This brand new animatronic with HD Digital effects will look too futuristic for the surroundings. Just my humble opinion.

Understand is that placement shouldn’t matter. In my own opinion the hatbox ghost is a human ghost with demonic powers so it has nothing to do with madam leota calling on all the spirits cause really he is always there already watching and interacting with you.
I’m more concerned with the looks of the parks and rides always breaking down then a damn animatronic
