I think she and most of you are misunderstanding. I agree that Sharia law does not suit European values, but Sharia law is only applied to Islamic nations such as Saudi Arabia. Even though Indonesia which has the largest Muslim population, does not use Sharia law, we follow the nation's law.

He said he has lived in "islamic countries" which means he's lived in more than one. You would have thought he'd stay clear of them after having lived in the first one but nope he chose to live in other muslim countries too and ended up spending 12 years of his life living amongst muslims. Clearly those countries werent as bad as he's making them out to seem. Being a Muslim myself, I would like to say, for sure, western culture and Islam dont match at all.
You dont need to change anything for Islam of course. just give equality and safety and that should do. Muslims shouldn’t be killed and vice versa.
When someone comes to your country, lets say, a Muslim student, it comes with lots of dreams and aspirations due to all the opportunities you provide because they do not have it in their countries.

I'm very critical of Islam and shari'a but I couldn't agree more with what you're saying. I don't want the world to bow their heads in fear because of Islam and the extremists who try to enforce it's brutal and frankly barbaric laws and at the same time I want people who wish to live peacefully outside of a Islamic law enforced country to do so freely and without advocating to turn that free country into the same as the one they left for a better life. That is pretty much it. I love the food and I love the clothing too (so long as it's not enforced onto anyone including Muslims themselves) but I'm not a fan of the misogyny and bigotry that has to come with it, I think that is what most people are concerned about and where the main difference in values lies, people are refusing to live by 7th century rules and norms in the 21st century world.

I just came back from Italy as a tourist on a lovely 3-week solo vacation. I'm Filipina and I've seen so many Filipinos living and working there, just like so many other Filipinos in several other countries. The Filipinos I've encountered (mostly sales assistants, baristas, or waiters) would speak to me in either Italian or English even after identifying me as a Filipino tourist. I respect that they are assimilating into their new chosen home, and while speaking in our native language is easier and isn't particularly wrong in our daily personal conversations (I've heard Tagalog spoken between Filipino migrants in their private conversations as I walk around), it is just right for immigrants to make an effort to adapt to the workplace and to the country's majority in general. I have also been followed around on 3 instances in Milan and Rome which shook me a bit, and I would have to say, none of them looked and spoke Italian.

The west developed rapidly in the 20th and 21th century, since Christianity wasn't hold them back, unlike Islam the muslims in the middle-east, who only benefit from their rapid development. The Intelligence and education niveau is much higher in the west.
