Dave, Band Maid may have been one of the most interactive concerts I have ever been to and I enjoyed myself tremendously. As I have said to others it may have been the 'funnest' concert I have been to in quite a while. They are worth the effort to go see live. Peace.
There's a rumor that she lost her shoes to the crowd, but she actually took them off before going out into the crowd. The song was "Freedom," and somehow Saiki couldn't finish singing the song (not sure if her mic cable got pulled or what), and Miku had to sing the last verse for her.
To be fair Saiki did take an impromptu "trip" into the crowd in the previous song and lost her high heels hence the bonding moment with the "barefoot assassin" on bass, MISA. Saiki got her high heels back during the guitar solo.
Of course, one song from a two hour concert can for sure be out of context. For all you could know David, they could have been in a mosh pit the song before. In fact Saiki was physically in the crowd the song before and lost her shoes. Hence, during this song MISA came over to Saiki to tease her about having no shoes (because MISA always plays without shoes). And of course this is considered one of their more FUN Live performances with or without context. Peace.
The live version is the Real Existence! There are many unique aspects to Real Existence that sets it apart from many rock songs: the starts and stops, Miku's little breakout vocal line, Akane's double tempo gallop, and Kamani's solo. I mean, who would ever put that kind of solo in a rock song? But it works... just like all of the plot-twists, complex density, and genre-merging they employ on most of their material. Every section offers something different than the previous one. That's one reason many people -- unless you're a musician - may find it difficult to get into their music at first listen. As tightly integrated as it is, there's so much going on. And then you add the Japanese language and maid outfits... But for people who like and appreciate their writing, musicianship, performance and personalities, Band-Maid's beautiful cacophony of excellence offers unlimited rewards for repeat listening... and mega stardom for the Maids, imxo. Oh yeah... and BRAVO Band-Maid for their 2022 & 2023 USA TOURS ending at the 16,000 seat Yokohama Stadium in Nov! I think it's already SOLD OUT! Thx, Thx, David!

The entire show is worth watching, and it covers the full range of what they were able to do in 2018. Of course, now, they have expanded their range, but even so, that concert was a milestone.
Owww oldie but goodie. The Maids are on their 10th anniversary tour and I wish sometimes they would play this! Still such a banger of a song. Btw..i dont think im wrong here..I think Saiki gave someone the finger lol
yep she gave the female section of the crowd the finger. on the previous song "freedom" they kidnapped her into the crowd and Miku had to finish singing the song. on this one Miku also was tuning her guitar during the song early on right before Saiki told the crowd they were number one
David thanks. While you were a wee bit worried about interaction, you did note that Band Maid does a lot... this concert especially, so expecting a little ebb and flow from song to song is fair. I actually thought the energy, stage interaction and showmanship were linked and present throughout this performance - lots of looking around, gesticulation and hamming up play, including vocals. This one often a favourite from long time fans.
Never heard of any reaction being blocked by Band-Maid, especially if it's an official video or anything else that's on their YT channel. Amuse could learn a lot from this attitude!
OMG you're right. I read some tea leaves in the bottom of a cup. Quite how they spelled out 'Saiki's fang will say I think the song Hate? from Lollapalooza should be in your future', i don't know cos it was a pretty small cup.🤯
I know you haven’t mentioned anything about going to one of their Western U.S. shows this month, but I’m still holding out hope for a surprise concert review video.
Regarding band interaction, at 5:05 in your video, Misa (bass) was pulling a "funny face" on Saiki (vocal). That's why she was laughing whilst she was singing. It's not the best timing to do it on a vocalist but Saiki pulled it through.
Speaking of crowd interaction: Saiki was IN the crowd the song before, that's why she wasn't wearing shoes and doing fun with MISA, who never wears shoes on stage. She put them back on during Kanamis solo. So, I think I heard 9.6... 😉
I gather that Pony Canyon now own Band-Maid's back catalogue on Gump? records as these were the songs being blocked. So, anything on their official site is now good.
@5:03 MISA was interacting with Saiki because Saiki had lost her shoes and as you know MISA never wears shoes so they were joking about it. Can I get a harrumph!!!???
If you watch any of the footage from their current 10th anniversary tour. They switched to cordless guitars and are Way, WAY more mobile and moving around.
David , the thing that always impresses me most about your reactions is that when you press your finger on the desk the video starts - for some reason it never works with my laptop when I try it !🙄😉
There seems to be rather mixed reaction to your review. I wonder if they understand your scoring system? A better score than I had guessed, i even lowered it when you repeated about only scoring the stage show, etc. I don't think you are going to see Band Maid at the moment as they are in the USA? I believe you want to do a mega Japanese band 'blow out' in Japan? Thank you for your reaction and review.

About crowd interaction: Saiki is not wearing shoes because, just one song earlier she was singing while she was lift up by fans

This was a concert clip their label always blocked. But it was first documented Misa smile!!
And Saike being the bass whisperer 😂
Dave right up your alley as a bassist MISA at Lollapalooza doing HATE?
Slow start? What video were you watching? This song comes in with a bang and doesn't let up.
Not only was it a great solo she followed what Misa did perfectly just like everything else they do.

David i give Band-Maid a score of 9.9 for this live performance ! The only thing wrong with it is I wasn't there =) Thanks Nice Reaction ✌🤘

@@GaryHolloway-810 Don't you tell me how you did that. It will be ok.
This is an older concert on a relatively small stage. Their crowd and band interaction post-covid has been over the top.

This was next to last song in a 2+ hour show. I watch the whole show about once a month. It's fantastic.
Speaking of crowd interaction: Saiki was IN the crowd the song before, that's why she wasn't wearing shoes and doing fun with MISA, who never wears shoes on stage.
She put them back on during Kanamis solo.

I hate to say this, David... but if Band-Maid checked all the boxes, that's not a 8.6. That's a big 🔟! ;-)
Kanami's solo is very thrilling!
Your comment would be even better if they were playing the sonf Thrill. 😀

David you really need to see them live. I did in Austin its has been to date one of the better concerts i have seen in a long time.
Very respectable score David 👍 The Maids cross continents with one priority...to interract with goddamn Maidiacs 😁🥳❤🤘🤘🤘

I thought Saiki was flipping off they area in the crowd where she lost her shoes. I went back and watched the video. She stealthily flipped them off.
