I loved your old bird guide. I've been birding since the 1980's and live in Cleveland, not that far away, so our birds should be the same. And you are right, the birds haven't changed -- but the names might have. You would be surprised at how many bird names have been updated and changed. My field guide from the 1980's is now obsolete, and it just seemed like yesterday that I learned them! Have fun identifying your backyard birds, my favorite place to watch my feathered friends too. Now, back to your posting -- I haven't watched the make-over part yet!

I never see some of these items here. That green clock! I love it. Nice you are a family together doing this. In many youtubers thrift and garage sale halls I often see shorter vases that people call planters. Many short squat ones were used for floral bouquets. The wet kind of floral foam put in. FTD used to have all kinds turn up at thrift. I bought them to make small succulent or cactus gardens with decorative rock and give as gifts.

The salt technique requires Kosher salt and plaster of Paris and water based paint. I watch a lot of videos but have never tried this technique. Watch The Shabby Creek Cottage. She has a tutorial for this technique and it seems to work for her. Good Luck, once again I loved everything.

I love your projects and that you clean and repair your items before you paint, stain or wax. I have not tried the salt technique that you were trying. I paint then sprinkle the course salt where I want the chippy look. Let it dry then lightly sand the piece. The thicker the paint and thicker the sprinkle gives the best result.

For the clock you showed at the very beginning I would've used the rust patina you use to blend in the chips showing silver metal underneath. I loved the color of it as well. I also like to use the corbel like out dated shelves as book ends. Idk if anyone has any books that large that would need book ends but they are super awesome in the smaller sizes. Great hall as usual. Tons of inspiration and ideas. I just ❤ your channel, your family and your content. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

HELLO YVONNE ~ I have had so many interruptions the past 3 days…it took me 5 mins here and 5 mins there to watch your video. So this morning …early…I WATCHED IT ALL 😂😂
I have never heard people saying you can’t sell Bibles ? That was a surprise to me. We buy them at Stores? They sell them on Auction Sites, eBay and Etsy… Is it the reselling they oppose ?
Love that old Bird Book ! My parents had many bird books, so over the past 30 years I have learned my birds! My granddaughters loved the bird books and we always had to sit and draw birds.. LOL!!! I am not a drawer 😂 But time well spent and they still remember it 💗
How cute little cupboard is and what did the other owner do to it ! LOL!!! Must have been a teen. But you certainly improved it nicely! And the Garden Sign… perfect !!! Love when you do pallet wood items !
Wonderful haul… so many nice finds! Hello to Chris and Alex! Does Alex sell on your eBay store or does he have his own?
Anyways … sorry so late commenting!
    Hugs sweet lady ! 🌻🌻💛🌻🌻

I absolutely love all the projects you do! One thing I learned with the salt paint is the thicker the better. Add a bunch of salt!! Then when you paint it, dab do not brush the paint. Then when it dries you have big chunks and can wipe it off or leave it chunky. When you add wax over it, it gets into all the grooves and resembles a good rusty look! Hope this helps!! Keep on inspiring!!

you are SO amazing! i love everything. most of all, I Love You! you are SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LADY, INSIDE AND OUT! I love your hair. mine is natural curly and during my teen yrs, being people weren't as "do what you want to do" as we are now. You can find such nice things and then you make them even nicer! Your work appears as if it is new, instead of home done finish. i wish i lived near to you bc i would shop your items frequently. the area where you show your items is pretty also. about the salt, it has a property of retaining moisture. i used to be a nurse and the science classes and chemistry i took, i learned that salt has a property of retainin water. you also find the most amazing garage sales where you live. i rarely go to GSs and maybe i should, bc i never see the abundance that you see, and the variety, too. my church used to have yearly GSs and there is where we had oodles of things. one yr, some folks had passed away and we sold much furniture, too. the beads with faces must have been doll heads or angel heads. i have an old original Poll Parrot Shoe poster and it is thicker than poster board that we see today. it is 13" x 20-22". the words are Poll Parrot Shoes, for Happy Feet. i want to frame it for my living rm bc i am eclectic/bo-ho-do-things-my-own-way type person. i like whimsical. they are thermos, they go with lunch boxes. my children had lunch boxes. y'all need to stop! i can't stand it! (kidding) your son, Alex, is also as Amazing! he is a Natural. and fun to watch. your hubby is too! i love the old tools. didn't know you had a daughter. i love your cats, too.!!!!!

The metal garden sign with pallet wood backing is my favorite & the little SOAP 5 was so cute.

Maybe use a plain latex paint instead of paint with primer? Love the wall cabinet.

Yvonne, the technique I use is a little different and it works. You can go to Our Upcycled Life and watch “Four painting techniques” and one of the techniques is the salt technique. She actual has shown that process more than one time on her UA-cam channel. She also uses the glue process that you like to use.

Yes she does a lot of techniques. I just watched one on how she makes rice paper out of fast food napkins it’s incredible what she does.

I love the garden sign. What a great idea to add the pallet wood behind it. I also like the soap and towel rack. Great haul.
