Composer: Luigi Boccherini
Artist: Eros Roselli (guitar), La Magnifica Comunità, Enrico Casazza (violin and concert master)
The 9 guitar quintets by Luigi Boccherini are probably arrangements of other pieces he wrote. Some were originally for piano quintet, some are combinations of pieces for other instruments. Nevertheless they sound very original, have a definite Spanish feel to them and make very enjoyable listening.
Of course two movements have become famous by themselves. There is the Fandango, the final movement of the fourth quintet with an unmistakable obviously Spanish rhythm. And the ninth quintet has the highly entertaining 'La ritirata di Madrid', depicting Madrid at night. Luciano Berio liked it so much that he made an arrangement of it.
A recording by La Magnifica Communitá. This ensemble has recorded Boccherini’s other quintets as well. They are here joined by guitarist Eros Roselli.

These guitar quintets were composed in Madrid, at the request of the Marquis of Benavent, an accomplished guitar player, who asked Bocherinni to transcribe for guitar the piano concertos that Bocherinni had just sent to the Court of Prussia.
When one gets into Boccherini, one his taken aback by the scale of his melodic creativity. It is on par with the greats.
>iiiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
At least as good as Mozart, I am starting to think even better. Mozart recording techniques are very flattering to him. I wish the Italians were recorded more often with larger ensembles and in larger spaces. I am wondering whether Mozart would even stand a chance against Boccherini.
This is the most brilliant classical music youtube channel in the whole Milky Way Galaxy !!!
yummy
Wonderful music, thank you! How lovely to have the beautiful Linley sisters as the cover artwork by Gainsborough (the future Mrs Sheridan and Mrs Tickell). 😊
Boccherini is an excellent melodic composer. I like his style . Thanks for uploading.
Guitar is an absolutely perfect match or foil or continuo with chamber strings. Why only Bach O'Reeny recognized this is a great mystery!
Boccherini: J'adore!!!!
The baroque guitar is much smaller than the guitar you know of. It is a much refined instrument that work well in classical music chamber group. Not the big street guitar you guys envisioned guitar which you want to hear more of.
This music is absolutely charming.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! I am transported back in time with these exquisite Quintets. Fabulous!

А вот теперь хорошо слышно,ведь тут 5инструментов разных.Очень красивая музыка
Beautiful video dear friend ♥
I agree...a superb musical panorama of The Golden Age! سلام عليكم المكسيك
❤❤❤
I Love bocc..
a quintet is a quartet adding one more instruments and if than instrument is not a viola or cello, it is pointed out in the title, such a a piano quintet, and flute quintet , and in this case it is a guitar quintet. It only implies which five instruments are played. It by no means says which instrument is leading, unlike concertos. An in And for those want a prominent guitar role , you are wrong and have bad taste.
De gustibus non est disputandum.
Boccherini😙
weten we toch ook wel sukkel
Ciao Enrico! Sei proprio tu? Un caro Saluto. Branca.

Гитару,наверное,просто не слышно.Зато в целом,превосходно,ярко.
ABC of barock music
Albinoni
Boccherini
Corelli
Boccherini’s is entirely a *Classical* composer (c.1750-1800) so cannot be included in the ‘Baroque’ list you suggest; JS Bach is the obvious ‘B’.
Probably is not sure
🙂spendide
Very nice indeed. But where is the guitar ? Nonetheless worth of listening, of course.
It is there, in the background, i hear it all the time.
The guitar is not the melody lead it serve much as according companion.
@@sokol5805 Strongly agree. Ride safe (if that's a bike helmet).
The stringed instrument is everywhere, a steel string guitar rather than the classical nylon string. A fabulous fantastic suite !
Pls upload some stuff from Arnold Schoenberg!!!
Where is the guitar? Be more serious! This is not good, you must apologize, it also happened with a program of studies for Sor guitar, nothing to do, with the order and number of the study. The guitar is also an instrument that deserves, give it due importance, I hope you take into account this comment friend of, brilliant classics!
You are right. The equalization should be better.
I agree with you. The way it was recorded here it sounds more like string quintets, with a guitar occasionally playing in the background.
Your argument just gives stregh to the question: where is the (microfoned) guitar?
I actually think this is what Boccherini intended. Perhaps we are syerotyped in our thinking. It is a quintet including a quitar. It is not a quitar with an accompanying string quartet. For me as a quintet it works.
@@malcolmabram2957 I'm agree with you.
