- Compilation of trains on the Sacramento Regional Transit light rail system I filmed in April 2022 in the different locations throughout Sacramento County. Ridership this month appears to be getting back to normal like it was before the 2020 pandemic as evenings are starting to fill up on trains this month.

Hope you see more trains on May
Union Pacific probably runs longer freight trains at night more than likely.
trains run anytime of the day any length.
Do they still run the 4-car trains during rush hour?
Three cars since they can't keep up with the maintenance on the cars since they are old. They ordered new light rail cars to be running by the end of next year.
I miss living in the bigger city. I rode light rail everyday to and from downtown to watt/i80 when I lived in Sacramento
The only sad part about the new light rail cars that it will be only a 3-cars length. Those new light rail cars is as long as the VTA cars. The majority of the downtown Sacramento blocks is not long enough to fit a 4-cars of the Siemens S700 as the last car half of it will be blocking the intersection. SacRT should have thought from the beginning of moving the light rail off from sharing the roadways in downtown Sacramento as it does cause traffics from time to time like on a bridge or something that will fit a 4-cars. When they got those used VTA cars, I ended up waiting many times for the next light rail because it was full jam pack of passengers in the VTA. That was before the pandemic COVID happened. I already have a bad feelings of a 3-cars only length for those new light rails because the population had went up too. Another thing is Sac. rush hour time is very different compared to Los Angeles when riders ride it. SacRT light rail is super jam packed of passengers during rush hours which SacRT don’t count that as its annually riderships.
@@upthemountain1406 The four car lengths also would be longer than the stations with the new Siemens cars just like the VTA cars. Supposedly the new Siemens Cars are supposed to have more space on them than the other three types of cars used on the system. TBH SACRT is behind with getting these new cars and remodeling their system for them although there is nothing they could do about city blocks. The old Siemens Duewag U2A cars are literally on their last leg now as it seems like there is one car a month having some type of mechanical problem or just breaking down. One train this past Tuesday at Zinfandel had problems with its wheels. Even the CAF cars which will be 20 years old next year are having problems also. This summer they are supposed to start remodeling stations mainly the side platforms so the new cars could be used on the system and also double track the Gold Line at the Hazel and Glenn Stations so trains can run in Folsom every 15 minutes.
