  • We've owned these kayaks for a few years now and thought we'd compare them to help out folks who are thinking about getting into kayaking. All three boats are perfect for beginners because they're super stable on the water, yet they're all capable of a full day of paddling. None of them require a large storage space at home or special racks on your car: they fit equally well in your closet and car trunk. Which one is right for you, and which one is our favourite? Watch the video for answers!

The boats are so fun and look great in the water. I love the moment in the video when you got in and realized that you forgot the paddle. 😂

A very balanced review. I can vouch for the Excursion and Explorer. The latter is not built to the same standard but it is a fun boat for an adult and smaller child for an hour or so on calm waters. The Excursion is superior in all ways as you say, in construction, handling on the water and it can be set up for one or two people with seating in the proper place. The footrests are easy to install and it just feels solid. The one consideration is the beam (width) of these inflatables. I think the Excursion is at the limit of comfort for paddling and that is with a proper paddle of a length suitable to you (135cm for me). It is worth getting a good paddle too for the Excursion. I get a lot of interest when I inflate my Excursion and cary it down to the water from kayakers lugging their 70 pound plastic kayaks back and forth. On the water of course they leave me behind quickly but you don’t buy an inflatable for the same reasons.

Yes as long as you know that they fit your needs, these boats are a great option! Thanks for watching and lending the community your knowledge!

Just got the excursion today. The advantage of an inflatble= small easy to transport and lighter to carry. My other boats are 16-14ft and the Malibu II sit ontop (is too heavy for my rack so I just stick in in the truck bed-and strap down)..all great but awkward.
In 1985 I got a Czech made inflatable that was amazing. It had multiple air chambres and in places really thick reinforced skin. Alas it passed away in NZ about 6 years ago.
Hoping to have fun getting out in lakes and rivers in the intex. Thank you for covering the things that matter ( u must be Canadian).

LOVED this enjoyable and informative video - thank you! I'll now be a much better informed consumer if I am ever in the market for some very economical and convenient fun on the water. Also loved the urban kayaking vibe! 👍👍👍

Hi! thx for the video! :D did u managed to hit the weight limit on the Excursion k2? if so how does it feels? im planning to get it as my first kayak but me and my cousin we weight about 170kg combined so it leaves few extra weight for equipment.

My son and I weigh just under 400 pounds. The boat feels fine in a slow and steady way (still way faster than the Explorer). But I would not go overweight. If you want to carry 75 pounds of gear and go touring I would move up a class to Sea Eagle or Aquaglide…although I have not tried those boats!

If you are talking about getting many kilometres from shore, this is not the right boat. Decathlon says max of 300 metres from shore and designed for 2 to 3 hour trips in calm waters. Best of luck finding the right boat and thanks for watching!

@@DayHikerFromTheSix The thing that made them feel afraid was the orca whales that were swimming next to the kayak. Thank God, the trip was completed successfully. Thank you, sir. We, the people of Morocco, love adventures.
