I never buy painted furniture, especially when it is well made vintage furniture. To me, the chair only needed the seat reupholstered. It was beautiful as it was. My parents had end tables like the one you painted. My aunt , who is an antiques dealer told me to never paint vintage or antique furniture because it decreases the value of the piece. I just cringe seeing the beauty of these pieces covered with paint. That’s just my opinion. I’m older and appreciate the original beauty of the craftsmanship.

Honestly I NEVER paint good quality and beautiful wood. Even if the wood is in rough condition I try to refinish it. I definitely could have just left the chair as-is but I knew that painted white it would sell faster in my area! I def agree that wood should rarely be painted, though.
