Yay! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. Super helpful video. I have so many beads from my days of jewellery making, I even have that exact glue! Just need to get the pins :D

I took Beth Twist’s class at The Jingle Ball last December… she had us do three pins at the same time and poke them into a wine cork, making like the pins are the Tripod Legs on a table… then turn the whole thing upside down so that the beads are nestled to the head of the pin by gravity… helps the glue to adhere… leave it like that for 24 hours… counting pins!!! Thanks for the refresher! I love watching these videos for more ideas…
I’m sorry I’ll miss you at Stitch Florida. I DID sign up go to the retreat initially. However, I lived in Orlando for 5 2/2 years, and it was 5 years too long. And Orlando in July?? No thanks 😊 Plus, let’s not forget the two retreats I did in April, the two coming up in September, and the potential retreat in October… my plate is FULL… off to find you on IG so I can see more inspiration!! I’m scrappinjax there…

Oh wow! That's a full travel schedule. This will be my first retreat so if all goes well I look forward to planning the next one! Yeah my husband isn't looking forward to the hot weather (he's basically a polar bear 😅) but at least the hotel has a pool! I will have to follow you on Instagram as well! Thank you for spending some time with my video and leaving me a comment! I'm getting to meet a lot of stitchy friends through flosstube. Happy stitching! ❤️

What are counting pins and how are they used

Great question! People use them in different ways. I know some stitchers who use them purely for decorative displays in pin cushions or they integrate them into their finishing. I like to use them to mark off where I am starting a new project on my fabric. I also use them to mark off distances between stitches for certain projects (an alternative to gridding your fabric with pens or threads). I prefer doing this especially for my hand dyed fabric since I'm not planning on washing out grid marks. I also use them when I need to frog stitches or when I need something with a sharper end to undo knots, etc.
