    Every time you went to show the results the video cut away or camera didn't zoom in so we didn't actually see any finished transfers

    How do you print in reverse ?

    • @irestorestuff

      It’s in your printer settings. Google how to print in reverse for your particular printer model.

    Help! Printed off my word on regular printer paper. Used acetone to transfer letters onto plywood. Did not work! Don't want to experiment on my final copy of good wood.

    would a bit of tape help secure it and maybe use a rubber or wooden roller to press out the ink?

    How do you prep your wood?
    Is there a specific paint, it almost looks like a chalk paint..?

    • @irestorestuff
      @irestorestuff  5 років тому

      Yes, I used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint for this one, I'm pretty sure. Sorry, I thought I mentioned it in the video. Milk Paint has a porous finish like Chalk Paint so accepts the ink a little easier than slicker surfaces.

      Nina thank you. I used the carbon paper method for those. I have a video on that too.

    is it possible to use a hot iron to ease the transfer?
    or will that melt the wax?

    • @Sulkanator

      Cozzy, not sure if you are still wondering about this but I saw a video on UA-cam testing the two methods and the rubbing worked better than the heat.

    I was wondering can you do this in color

    • @Mystress1980
      @Mystress1980 6 років тому +1

      Yes, but you'll want to print in draft mode for best results so the colours don't bleed together.

    Authentic means genuine not a print that has been but on a table, which is not authentic.

    I have tried two different inkjet printers to print on freezer paper. And one prints an unrecognizable image and the other a poor image. I am setting the printer on glossy photo paper. Any suggestions how I can print on the freezer paper to get anything worth transferring?

    • @irestorestuff
      @irestorestuff  4 роки тому

      Oh wow. No I’m not sure how else to troubleshoot this for you. You’re using the craft paper called “freezer paper”? This method was one of the more difficult ones of the 3 videos I made on transferring graphics. Maybe try a different method.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am wondering if you have to use the transfer straight for the printer or can they be printed and stored for later use?

    • @OregonDARRYL

      Herbal, I was wondering the same thing, basically if it dries, can you wipe the surface of the wood with water before attempting to press transfer the image? I guess experimentation is due here. What have your experiences with ink jet transfer been like?

    • @irestorestuff
      @irestorestuff  7 років тому

      Oh Darryl, I'm so sorry. I thought I was replying to another video entirely! I have another video on using transfer gel. With the freezer paper, you almost have to use the ink immediately after it has printed. I would think wetting the ink on the freezer paper would smudge the ink and the image entirely. Sorry for the confusion.

    • @irestorestuff
      @irestorestuff  7 років тому

      Herbal, I use the transfer straight away as it is only sitting on the surface of the freezer paper. If you store it, the image will be leaning against another paper and will smudge. If you look carefully at the image after printing it is almost like tiny bubbles of ink sitting on top of the freezer paper because the paper is glossy. The image does not soak into the paper like it would for ordinary paper.

      You'd flip the image prior to printing using a graphics program. Even basic programs that come stock on your computer should be capable of flipping the image.
