Honestly a game like this would benefit from a rogue like level structure. You can make quick runs to grab one thing you need or go on extended runs and grab a lot of stuff. Would be a good source for currency and different materials
I don't think rogue likes really capture the laid-back asthetic that people enjoy from the chao garden.
@@johnpett1955 well that would only be to go get materials. Like how you'd exist the garden to go do a mission. Some of those missions take forever and you're stuck grinding the same one. Roguelike would keep it fresh every time. I just don't think an exploration based game would be a good source of material for this game. We'll have to see how it goes though

I think gameplay alone sells me but the actual creatures feel a bit off to me but I’m mad excited regardless

i think they just need more varietis! For example when you gave the chaos an animal they should get at least the wings of it or kinda stuff! I hope they make alot of chaos varieties inside! And the game would be good multiplayer to fight against other chaos
Ohh, I can’t wait for this game to come out. Seems like a neat spiritual successor to the original. I do miss the Chao Garden as well.

I think it’s also the fact they got mouths making them feel abit weird to me but I guess by theming alone dragons/lizards makes sense for THIS game
The sa2 chao garden ia kinda perfected all they need to do is rerelease that with updates

Oh by the way I did the math on how many different types of chao you can make in the chao gardens.
And the results were...

And that's not even accounting for the second evolutions being sliding scales which gives a lot of versions in between.

Maybe it will spark interest within the indie gaming industry and people will start making more chao garden type games.
The real dealbreaker for me, and what i feel truly sets chao apart, is that the pogglings need to slowly and physically evolve on top of a a big evolution. Like how you can see your chao take form and then the form intensifies over time through stat gain.
Poglings needs to get so big it'll get collabs with other franchises!!
Imagine if it goes full circle and collabs with Sega.

this looks super fun, but I have a few gripes... Feels wrong to not have anthropomorphic characters to play as since this is a spiritual successor of a Sonic side-game. Would have been cool to play as like...dragon characters to match the theme. I hope there's at least create a character or just different options.
The other is the name, Poglings. I know my friends are gonna DM me like "omg what are you playing??" Draclings, Replings, Wyrvings, anything would have been way better.
I guess the lil' things actual designs are kinda... TOO cute, too. Like, Chao are cute in how they act, not always how they look. It's mainly their eyes that make me think this, too. So big and adorable, but it feels more like a formality than a design choice.
anyways, fingers crossed that the game's too fun for me to care about any of this :P looking forward to it

I don’t know if this is just me being cynical or weird because of nostalgia, but the movements of them feel lifeless..? I think part of the charm of chao is how human the movements were, but this looks like too seamless? Maybe I just need to get used to the designs or something more, but it also just feels like a mobile game which I don’t like, I would love a more lived in realistic feel, but not realistic as in graphics but as in movement and heart.. I don’t like for example the light when they come out of the eggs… Maybe that’s because it’s a trailer and it will be different, but I just like how with chaos we actually see them pop off their shell and we see them come out of it. Along with many other things I noticed . Most things I saw kind of worried me.. This is probably really nit-picky tbh.
I also hope they have at least some personality/ behavioral differences like chao do. My favorite part of raising chao is watching them interact with their little world, I hope to see that out of this game.
I also love the genetics of chao, and I also hope that is something that can be explored here as well, the races look good I think, but I do kind of wish for, as I said, more human animation? Which they probably can’t change at this point, but these are just my personal gripes and maybe others feel differently.
Anyways regardless I’m hopeful, and very interested in how this will turn out.
they look a bit too much like care bears to me... but the general gameplay looks fun and i will probably try it if it comes out. maybe if my computer can run it there will be a chao mod lol

GBA had tiny chao garden for sonic advanced 1 & 2. That was pretty fun. But I agree on an actual updated mobile version.
The one thing the trailer didn't show us was the player actually interacting with them... I think thats also a big draw to the chao garden. Holding, petting, etc. If the game has those elements as well then ill most likely check it out

Well, I think the kid looks weird, but the poglings themselves are so cute!! They look like little dragons!
Limited creatures [like limited land until you unlock a type a chao that unlocks new areas]
States = Same [flipped for copycat reasons...]
Sun = hero chao = Good/Light nature [Could have some new gimmick though]
Spiro = neutral chao = Normal/Neutral
Moon = Dark chao = Bad/Dark nature [Could have some new gimmick though]
[They even have some similar styled types such as swim type and fly types] (you could tell by the cheek fluff)
Planting is now up to you and not the creatures. [Comes in some similar forms like strength and heart fruit]
Butterfly = Fly
Fish = swim
Dark crystal = moon pogling [theoretically]
[light gem] = Sun pogling [theoretically]
Shop... like in the school... though I doubt they'll be a school on an distant island, at lest for the poglings.
[also seen in the shop you can see a Light Glow flower and Night Bell flower, I'm assuming they are the same to turn them into Sun and moon types respectfully].
Racing just like the chao, it focuses on states that you worked on. [I don't think I need to go into detail about this though.]

You are probably the biigeset Chao youtuber, so PLEASE make a video saying everything wrong with the game and everything that the game needs to be the best it can be. I think itll be really helpful for the devs.

Heh this shows that cult classics can still inspire new things while also bringing back something we thought we wouldn't see again but in a new form. Wario land gets Pizza Tower and now a part of Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 gets Poglings.
I'll definitely give the game a shot when it drops. Looks like the poglins are adorable enough for it to be worthwhile imo

i’m not the biggest fan of the art style especially with the main character and i really hope there is some kind of action level combination (like someone else mentioned replacing the sonic levels with a rogue like feature and i think that would be amazing way to get items and such)
Hope they add some form of community map editor or something for the races etc, allows the game to live on so much longer if so

Is it weird I think they’re “too cute”? The chaos themselves are adorable of course but they also had a sense of dopey-ness that’s really charming.
The biggest thing that excites me is what looks to be like much more things to entertain you. I think with mods, this’ll end up being a great game. We’ll just have to see what there is to work with starting off.

My current problem is just the variety of poglings, there are like 5 parts that change between forms and it dosent seems there is that much variation. But i think they will add more parts with development. Other than that im all in
I like the idea although I'd like there to be more design for the avatar that you play as, like a girl or boy selection and styles to wear for it. In all honesty if we do want Sega to make a chao garden aspect, buying this game and making it emerge like Palworld has done might be the way to go with this.

Not a huge fan of the theming, and uncertain how well a Chao-Garden-like would work on it's own without action stages... but with that said, I hope it brings some competition to the table to motivate other studios to give artificial life another go.

I don't blame those dinosaur-like monsters just because Chao's design was just too perfect. I appreciate the concept and their efforts, but those dinosaurs don't seem to have any of the "adorable" of Chao.

They are trying too hard to make Poglings look cute. I just don't like the designs. Why does the main character have to look so ugly.
The poglings look amazing and alot of people agree lol the male character had a slight redesign and a female was added they are just useing the old model of the male character in the video

I think it’s the design. I really don’t like it at all.
It’s a shame that we are at this point in the Chao community I have lost hope of ever seeing my dear dark power/swim chao in a new chao garden, and in regards to the game we at least have to give it a try, that’s how our love for chao started we just saw them and we have it a try, allot of work must have been put in to this game, we at least owe it to ourselves fellas, I’m the first to say I need the chao garden but let’s take what we can, we might get surprised hopefully in a good way.
