This seems more British. I’m with you. The shorter ones are more straight forward. In a fast pace city you rarely hear people speaking like this the entire time.
Stop saying "complicated" Instead say "He made it entirely more complex and convoluted to convey the intended message than it could have been if it was delivered in the alternative and more efficient manner"

I’ve spoke English since I could talk like a human.. im not getting rid of darling often, sometimes, or usually. It’s a lot easier to get out. Also, I feel like no one will say “from time to time” unless you’re trying to sound more formal in a way. Most of us who speak English are too lazy to say those long things
@@Drogon7102 Yes, you're right ,these may be awkward in friendly conversation but there is no wrong knowing those words. If you are taking an exam or writing a formal letter , these phrases will support your knowledge.
@@khodis2002 I understand, english is stupidly complex. Usually comes from the root "usual" which means something that happens regularly, and every so often is also from a similar root of "often" which means something that happens semi regularly. Every so often is a less regular version of often due to the "every so" infront of it.
It is not often one makes a video like this, unless if it is, but usually I do not see these kinds of videos but they’ll pop up every so often. Sometimes it will make sense and sometimes it won’t, usually it doesn’t, this video is one of them.

Often, I like to usually use simple words like sometimes so express that what I just said, or what I'm going to say in the future, to have a bigger audience because younger kids will have no clue on what I'm talking about.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why? Me neither.. I’ll just keep using the same vernacular I’ve always used to communicate very small conversations with people who only asked me one set of questions. But cheers regardless I suppose.
Is it just me or did he miss giving an alternative for “often”? He said stop using often, usually, sometimes and then demonstrated alternatives for usually, sometimes, and occasionally.

as a native english speaker this video made me realize how little i use the word “occasionally” in day to day speech

You are right i Will tell this things sometimes thanks
It’s probably better to keep it shorter. A bit too wordy, and it’s more efficient to use them.
Excellent 👍 thank you !
It’s a good way to fill up space for people who don’t like awkward silence.

I dont think this is great advice. Using those other words are normal and if you the phrases it can seems forced and awkward.

Every so often doesn't mean usually. It's more synonymous with occasionally
As for non-native, it makes no sense. I just don't understand logic of it.

I use here and there…
We can also use ‘frequently’
I’ll think about it, and maybe I’ll use it sometimes. I usually just rather use “sometimes” and “maybe.”
To converse is to make it simpler and easier for them to understand. I'm not writing for english literature every time i opened my mouth.

Often, usually and sometimes are perfectly fine in English. There are a lot of situations where they sound more appropriate.
Often, usually and sometimes are called adverbs of frequency it tells how pften the action is done
Occasionally means just that you just see each other on occasions like birthdays, anniversaries but it is misused heavily
I use these quite frequently
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why? Me neither.. I’ll just keep using the same vernacular I’ve always used to communicate very small conversations with people who only asked me one set of questions. But cheers regardless I suppose.
During exam days me and my friends hang out in the park every so often.
