and another reason why you should NEVER EVER EVER EVER try to take on depression alone...to keep in the theme of the video...its that villain who's plan is to break the team up so that they can't support eachother.
As someone who battles depression on a daily basis, I'm able to keep pushing forward because I know my friends and family are by my side every step of the way and will help me out when I'm having it rougher than usual.
edit: wanted to add I'm not making light of JDF's passing, just saying that if you try to battle it on your own without help from others, it's an extremely difficult uphill fight.

My favorite bit of foreshadowing about Amelia's true nature: in one episode, Solon makes a bunch of Rafkonian cakes for the team to eat as part of some celebration. Everyone eats them, but while Javi, Izzy, and Ollie seem to not like them, it's Zayto, Aiyon, and Amelia that absolutely love them.
I never noticed. The 3 Rafkonians loved the Rafkonian cakes while the 3 humans didn't like them. Hmmm.

Okay, I'm probably overanalyzing here, but I don't care.
If their tastebuds are that different, then wouldn't they hate human food as much as the humans hate Rafkonian food? Wouldn't Amelia notice that she doesn't like most foods that her friends seem to love? Not only that, the series ends with Aiyon opening a cafe serving authentic Rafkonian cuisine... but how would that sell among the humans? I don't think he'd get enough business if it only catered to the colonists.
Maybe it's just the cake that's off-putting to humans and other food they're fine with. But that seems way too specific so I'm calling bullshit on that. Hopefully, in Cosmic Fury, they'll address this significant plot hole. Maybe only one specific Rafkonian fruit is the problem.

@theblackwidowerw ell, I don't think it's necessarily a case of humans not like rafkonian cuisine, because not everyone likes the same things as everyone else. This is especially true when it comes to food. Some people like spicy food, others dont. Some people think caviar or foie Gras are exquisite food items, and others think it's disgusting. Besides, we only had one aspect of their cuisine, the cakes. Whose to say other Rafkonian meals aren't things people wouldnt absolutely want to try? Just saying
Two tiny fun facts: 1) in my and the writers' heads, Dino Fury is in the same universe as Beast Morphers. The only other universe seasons are RPM and Dino Charge. And 2) The original Dino Fury theme song did not have 'Go Go Power Rangers in it. It was added at the last minute at the request of Hasbro Brand - who felt that like 'It's Morphin Time!' It's a key part of the brand. This stipulation about 'GGPR' has changed now, as the people who were there at that time have since moved on.
Oh, assuredly so I know that Beast Morphers is in the prime universe along with Dino Fury. It's just to me it didn't really make sense for it to be.
But obviously the actual creators' intentions kind of override me nitpicky nonsense. XD
Personally I like the inclusion of Go Go Power Rangers as a recurring brand thing, I just didn't like the theme itself - doesn't do anything interesting with it and it felt tuneless and once again techno-y electronica stuff doesn't match with the season. In my opinion, Dino Charge is the gold standard for still incorporating Go Go Power Rangers while making the song its own thing.

I for one am glad that it has finally- hopefully moved on. PR can go back to having unique feeling theme songs now, I'd also hope there not 30 seconds anymore now that Nickelodeon is not there.
Gonna say this. I certainly think that you might be one of the best, if not the best showrunners this franchise has seen. It's so refreshing to see the franchise getting the respect it deserves for how long it's been in production for.
@@plumfadoodle4908 I have no problem with GGPR. It's just that we've heard it for the last 10 years now (literally). It's come to the point where fan-made theme songs sound better than the actual show themes. I really do hope that Cosmic Fury and the following seasons after it have opening themes that are longer (the usual TV intro length instead of 30 seconds) and sound unique to that season.
Wanna know the best part about Tessa Rao’s performance? Out of the six main rangers, she’s the *only* *one* that’s a native New Zealander! All the other rangers are from either the US or Canada. Her accent as Izzy is so good that I legitimately thought she was American until I saw her in promos and interviews speaking with her natural accent. Seriously, I hope she gets more work after this!
And it's good that Izzy and Javi are both Latinos without having to shove it into the audience that they are Latinos.

I love the fact that I was so obsessed with History of Power Rangers back in 2013 that, to this day, when Linkara posts a new one, UA-cam recommends me it right away
I was honestly in a similar situation. I was watching the history of Samurai videos when my UA-cam app crashed. I opened it back up and found this video had just uploaded. I was like “Samurai can wait, I ‘m gonna watch this first”.
I was there from the beginning in 2010 so each time a new one comes it's a nice feeling and a 'drop everything else' moment.
@@jamesatkinsonja oh, that is nice. I have to admit that, a decade ago, I was heavily into tokusatsu. Nowadays, no more, and I honestly even cringe a little about my obsession from back then. Still, I enjoy watching those videos when they come out

Back then MMPR Version 2 was airing on ABC and it seemed the franchise was done for good and here comes Linkara making reviews of the comics which got him (and by extension me) back into Power Rangers. I've since broadened by tastes in Tokusatsu but yeah, I'm a fan from WAY back in the old days.

Void Knight honestly felt like a breath of Fresh Air given how so much of his forces were clearly him adapting to his present situation rather than him coming pre-packaged with them as your standard evil overlord. Made him feel like he was on the same sort of footing as these mostly inexperienced Rangers before bigger and badder threats started showing up.
And I also love how it feels mirrored with Zedd who, while an old hand at this sort of thing, has basically returned from death with nothing but his bare hands and is forced to plan his way back to the top.
When I first saw Void Knight, I initially joked about his design by saying: "Oh hi Koragg."
@@nine_tails137 Ya but he not meant to be like Koragg given the sentai, It just a coincidence that someone from Toei made a design that looks very similar to Wolzard, plus if anything he's more like Snide's counter part or even Zeltrax's counterpart.
@@Pikachu2Ash Yeah, Void Knight is completely different from Koragg personality-wise. Which is part of the reason I like him more than Koragg. Still, I just couldn't resist making that comparison with his design.

3:28 To emphasize this point a little bit, I want to point out that Donbrothers, the Sentai that just finished airing, is the first show where the toy of the robot can actually move all its joints like the robot in the show can. And this is because just before Donbrothers started production, one of the executives noticed that his son was annoyed that his toy couldn't move like the one in the show. It took 45 years for someone to realize that kids like it when their toys can move. That's how stupid executives are.
I can only imagine the endless frustration from kids all over Japan getting their Zyuohger toys, make the robot, then find out that outside of unfolding the cubes into the robot, they essentially got a big bar of stiff plastic...
My God, an executive actually making an informed decision to improve their brand and not just pouring gasoline on it and staring at it go up in flames
I can remember getting the operation overdrive megazord as a kid (which was around when they stopped importing the toys) and feeling disappointed that the transformation didn’t match up with what was on tv, I always thought it was cool that you could almost use the show as instructions for how to use the toys

Cause this is my biggest gripe with figures in general.
I like it when my figures have source accurate painting and sculpting, and lots of articulation for complex poses.
Specifically head, neck, arm, elbow, wrist, waist, leg, knee, and ankle articulation are the minimum requirements.
More articulation means more complicated to put together means a more expensive toy means less sales means less profit.
Knowing what people want doesn't matter when you only care about how much money you can make doing it.
No one actually wants MTX/DLC/live service/gacha/free to play/to not own things either.
But it makes the publisher/suits working at the dev more money that way.
That's why they run massive advertising campaigns. It's brain washing to get you to accept things that you otherwise wouldn't and to buy products that you actively shouldn't.
Good things spread by word of mouth. They don't need advertising. Every ad you have ever seen without going out of your way to look it up yourself is for a product or service to actively be avoided.

Which was similar to the idea of the Sentai which was dropped somewhere during the production.

Honestly, it's pretty refreshing how someone besides the red ranger had the parent/child relationship with the baddies this time.
It really did feel like the cast had a much better balance of team members getting moments in big episodes.

The Ryusoulger mech was indeed designed to be a lot more agile. The main mecha suit actor for Sentai had also just retired and someone new was put in the role. So it was, frankly, a younger man in the suit
If I recall it was also to try and change things up a bit, cause the traditional Sentai mecha were starting to fall out of favor with the kids in Japan at the time.

The Lokar thing is actually pretty cool. In Ryusoulger, the suit was them saving the budget in the second half. So they reused the Lokar suit from a special mini series event that happened earlier in the year. (also fun fact: the main villain of the special was named Rita and the director of it said the plan was to say she was Bandora's kid) Toei just reused the suit and renamed it as a different villain. So it's actually cool that the PR team decided to actually make him Lokar's relative. As other seasons wouldn't even for researched that fact too much.
If only they did the same regarding Snide and his resemblance to Zeltrax.
@@williamcharron4683 Yeah, they correctly used Goldar's new form as Goldar Maximus, but you're right, Snide was unrelated to Zeltrax despite the two having the same Sentai counterpart, the two were old generals given upgraded forms in the source material.

It DOES make sense for Izzy to get the most mature stories of the season. She is seemingly the youngest, being a high school student still, and would arguably still need those lessons the most, opposed to the others, who are all matured enough by this point.
I'll be honest, that "arrow to the thigh" joke got me good the first, but it became a knock out on the second.

I'm surprised nobody ever pointed out Solon to me. I like those kinds of designs, and know people who do, feels like a shoe in.
Fun Fact: The costume of Lokor's nephew is taken from Ultimate Dai-Satan, the main villain of a miniseries called "4 Week Continuous Special Super Sentai Strongest Battle!!" He's a revived version of what MMPR called Lokor but what Zyuranger called Dai-Satan. And as what may or may not be a nod to Power Rangers, the person who resuurrected Dai-Satan in that miniseries was named Rita. She also wore the Gaisoulg armor that was used in this series for Void Knight before it appeared in the next series Ryusolger where it was worn by the team's seventh Ranger

Edit: Now that I think about it, it is kind of funny how both times Void Queen's costume is used in two different show from different countries revolves around her daughter.......

I kinda felt that Zayto's subdued delivery felt more like him being a knight as well as being lowkey depressed over how he lost his old team. When he loses his cool with Void Knight, I feel that spoke volumes of that. To say nothing of him sacrificing himself to defeat the Nemesis Beast, all the Sporix that he had a hand in creating.
I'm not sure if you encountered this but Bennett reported that Zayto and Aiyon's conflict WAS planned to be a multi episode arc, but apparently one of the ongoing mandates was that Rangers couldn't keep ongoing conflicts against other Rangers outside of brainwashing.
I can see how 'Waking Nightmare's' would have made an ending point for a mini arc there.
Not clear who was giving that mandate, though I got the impression from Simon that the transfer from Nick to Netflix might have freed them up a bit.
Guess that explains why the mystery of the Gold Ninja Steel Ranger being the brother of the Red Ninja Steel Ranger was resolved so quickly.

That is all too apparent once we get to season 2 and thank god the show's finally off nickelodeon.
I really have no problem with writers trying to retcon and give a viable explanation to mistakes in the past, even if they werent their own mistakes. It shows that these people care about the overall story and are willing to go back and try and fix the plot holes, and it gives the satisfaction to the fans who no longer have to complain about these plot holes. And I felt like they did a good enough explanation about who the Morphin Masters are that people who didnt read the comics or know about that single line of dialogue from the first season of power rangers wouldnt feel out of the loop or confused.
Agreed I actually REALLY like lore being explored/explain about how the powers work. I'm still curious on the creation of the Zords themselves, but the power sources the different teams use to tap into the Grid having an origin as being granted by the guardians of said Grid (outside of times it was clearly stuff reversed engineered from destroyed Ranger tech) was very clever and a nice way to give a throw-away line meaning. Especially when you remember Zordon said that the Power Coins weren't something he himself created. And bringing them in post-comic also makes sense because maybe after the events of the Shattered Grid, Green is more willing to be proactive since NOT getting involved when they could have is what lead to Drakkon becoming such a huge threat.
imagine if these "plot holes" werent plot holes but where intentionally planned from the beginning is it bad writing then or just very bad foreshadowing to the future lol its an obvious answer but still a weird thought to have
Also side note, I really like the inclusion of an actual Special Olympian with Sarah Dalton as Izzys cousin. It was super cool to see representation like that and I really hope its something that PR can continue to do.
The fact they keep messing up comedy duos gives me so much appreciation to how good Bulk and Skull were and the longevity they were able to work.
Plus, how refreshing Cassidy and Devin were for being the only Bulk and Skull "ripoff" that worked
@@BigAmericanGirlFanwe those two I think it was about how we see them evolve throughout the season I mean can you imagine the Cassie from the beginning of the season hand over the tape of the rangers morphing to the rangers instead of releasing it to the public
@jordanreed7570 Both Bulk & Skull and Cassidy & Devin having character arcs helps with them being well remembered. What you pointed out about Cassidy could be applied to Bulk and Skull standing up to a monster in Season 1 of MMPR compared to Countdown to Destruction. While they're both comedic relief, they're given the ability to change and grow, making us want to root for them
Bulk and Spike were pretty good.
I like to call these duos the “bootleg” duos.
To be fair to Megaforce, something I’d never thought I’d say, the line from Karone about loving being a Power Ranger was a throwback to her as Astronema saying she’d never wanna be one.
I was about to say, and I mean its kind of telegraphed don't they do a flicker of astronema's outfit on her to show it?

Obviously but it has no substance to it is Linkara's point, for that moment to have worked they would've needed a team up with Lost Galaxy or at least some of the cast members first. Something to restablish that she used to be astronama and said that. I would've had it as a joke with Leo as they take their sabers, like "can you believe I used to dislike Power Rangers" or something like that.

Way I see Dino Fury is that it was able to run because Beast Morphers walked. It's for me the best PR since RPM with great characters, story and action. This was a great outing under Hasbro and makes me a little bummed at how this may not continue as is because of a lot of the uncertainty of the show post-Cosmic Fury.
I'm watching the ninja steel season right now but I will say dino charge was like the Disney era.

It still hard to believe he passed away. He put so much passion to power Rangers. Even consulting that comic Soul of the Dragon which it fitting considering he was saying his last good bye to Tommy Oliver. Great way to end Tommy Journey. RIP JDF. Thank you for bringing happiness. Have you read soul of the Dragon, Linkara?

My biggest disappointment with Ranger Garcia is that he didn't find out his kids are Power Rangers. Out of the supporting characters I felt he is the one that should find out, especially comparing the ones that did find out.

"Coral Habor is close" I know Dino Fury wasn't even written during Beast Morphers, but Pine Ridge is mentioned. The Lion Zord from Beast Morphers was said to be kept in a Grid Battleforce hangar in Pine Ridge. So they technically close in distance.
Also, like the foot soldiers being basically the heroes' security force overtaken by the villain. Neat.

Actually, they would need tech from different universes as the idea is the Morphin Grid is mutliversal and it helps knowing more than just one universe.
In addition, Devon wasn’t reaching out to the other universes, he was reaching out to ALL Rangers. There’s also the fact they might not have direct contact to all past Rangers, who likely aren’t interested in joining to keep up having normal lives now.

I love that zedd is actually less prone to threatening and more akin to making deals to convince the villains to work with him. He’s cunning and powerful…but he knows he can’t be a one man army. Him not being threatening the entire time, shows his cunning nature, he’s able to get people to work and trick them with his words alone
Honestly, much as I love seeing Lord Zedd, I feel that was just Hasbro nostalgia baiting fans.
Plus I knew Robert Axelrod wouldn't be voicing him, since he passed away in 2019. So the new voice was meh to me.
Still, I'm glad they got someone who at least sounds like Zedd, and not a terrible one like Alpha in Overdrive.

@@williamnguyen8663 Yeah, plus the main reason old characters returned in past seasons like with JDF, was to save the show's declining ratings. So naturally I was confused as to why they decided to bring back Lord Zedd, when he was turned human by the Z-wave. And I never heard anything about Beast Morphers having low ratings?
Thus the only conclusion I could come up with for Zedd's inclusion, was nostalgia bait.

@@Pikachu2Ash Actually, my initial speculation was similar to what happened in Beast Morphers. Where Scrozzle created a device to resurrect old villains. So I assumed the same was done for Lord Zedd, since the previous villains had his staff in the stash of old villain weapons. Then once resurrected, Reaghoul probably stole a compliance collar from Ryjack via hopping dimensions.
In “Old Foes’” case, I feel like it set up Zedd well and that Cosmic Fury seems set to make good on his return. I think old elements returning can work so long as they feel built in then tacked on. Venjix as Evox worked in how they built up Grid Battleforce itself as a sort of Ranger Archive.
I just love the fact that we finally, FINALLY got a resolution to RPM’s cliffhanger ending.
Also I love the fact that Beasf Morphers, a NON anniversary season, did a million times better job at respecting the past than megaforce.

Izzy was absolutely my favorite character in this season for sure, and that was really cemented in the you you briefly mentioned about her struggling with academics outside of sports. Like her, I'm also a very visual learner. Textbooks, notes, and Powerpoint slides just don't retain in the same way that hands on instruction does for me, thanks to my ADHD, and it really meant a lot that the new team chose to have an episode that highlighted the needs of students that have different learning styles than what's typically offered
A "History of Doctor Who" series would be fucking awesome.
There’s a Whotuber by the name of Clever Dick Films that does a similar series (behind the scenes related and their experience with the show) I highly recommend checking them out.

I actually have yet to finish Dino Fury but I had an interesting experience with JDF. I met him at big apple con back in 2017, it was my first comic con convention. And after I attended his Q and A I got in the elevator and he popped in the elevator next to me. I tried my damnest to hold in a geekgasm I was tempted to say something but was afraid of annoying him or anything. I did though get a picture with him afterwards.

53:00 Regarding Beast Morphers being in the prime universe, here's my theory. The previous ranger teams' identities were secret, with the exception of the Space Rangers and Lightspeed Rescue. Grid Battleforce was given the morphers and other gadgets from other teams, but not their names. Something about the previous rangers moving on with their lives, not wanting to risk it getting leaked to the general public, especially since it looks like a lot of other countries are also working on this project, etc.
That's why Devon had to risk himself stepping into the Morphing Grid like that. Through the connection he not only called for help but also learned their identities which is why he recognized Jason when he showed up.
Also one of the teams that came to help was Dino Charge, which is from a forked timeline so they at least wouldn't be contactable by normal means.
Anyway, that's just a theory I came up with.
I like that headcanon, but I'd also like to believe that the higher ups at GB were given clearance to access the legendary ranger database from Megaforce. Like Commander Shaw, a few others in her chain of command, and the rangers themselves are aware, but only because they would be the ones to make contact with other ranger teams or need to be privy to how the legendary weapons function in case of emergency.

I actually really like the Zords this season. The way their connection points work means that the toys likely have the potential to use even more forms than the show uses, which means kids can come up with all kinds of crazy crap with them. And the way they utilize the keys in their design is neat, too.
One thing I really appreciate with the Megazord combinations,
is it's not just the Red Ranger's Zord putting on boots like in Jungle Fury, or putting on gloves like in Dino Charge.
Yes, I know that was more due to the Sentai footage, but you can make elaborate Megazord combos with just 3 zords.
For example: Red Zord = Body, Yellow Zord = arms, Blue Zord = Legs.
You can disassemble the Zords completely, just like the Sentai, to make a bunch of combinations. The 2-packs even come with extra pieces to add onto it, as does the Dimetro Zord.
However, Hasbro hasn't made any toys of the Cosmo Raptors or Pachy Smash Zords yet.
You guys realise that these Zords were Super Sentais first try at Lego toys right? Because thats what they are and its a fucking goldmine! Kids and adults can get very creative with combinations because they can do what ever they want

It kinda sucks that "Go Go Power Rangers" song often gets too overused in remixes instead of trying to make new theme songs that would stand them out and be catchy & unique.

I really enjoyed Zayto and I did'nt think there was much wrong with his acting either. It definetly did'nt feel like Troy to me and more of just Zayto being really out of his element and akward about stuff in regards to earth. There's nothing wrong with being a bit more subdued in how you react to things and he could be freaking hilarious with his delivery too.
I honestly loved Zayto's performance, it gave me dad vibes at times and I found that pretty adorable.

The Ryusoulger mech suits were indeed designed with more speed & mobility in mind. They were designed as such after prior seasons saw a drop in viewership for a lot of reasons, with Toei assuming one of them to be the sluggishness of the mech battles.
I mean they're not wrong. I hate the megazord fights after RPM/Go Onger. They become bad cgi messes or constant stock footage attack reuse, and not good stock footage either. Dino Thunder/Abaranger had better cgi that's aged better then the stuff from sentai/PR seasons after go onger. And when half your show is the giant robots, that really takes the quality of the shows down several pegs.
I find it weird that it took them so long to catch up in this regard. Godzilla Final Wars realized that more maneuverable suits created better fights back in 2004, and we’re only now seeing Sentai and thus Power Rangers adopt the same idea

Well, Lothorn is more a matter of the Sentai gift wrapping them a continuity nod. Lothorn's costume was originally made as a powered up form of Lokar's counterpart for a Special, and from there Ryusoulger modified and reused the suit because that's what Toei does. So they already had footage of a suit that was specifically made to resemble Lokar.
Hell, take out one letter from Lothorn's name and he becomes pathetic.

Dino Fury is one of the first Power Rangers shows I've actually watched for more than a few episodes in a long time. The show was a great step up from what we got the last 10 years before DF.

I feel like there's a simple explanation for why Zedd is treated almost blase by Grid Battleforce; It's been decades, in-universe. There's been plenty of world-shaking bad guys since that threatened the world, and Zedd just isn't that noteworthy if we go off the "there were past rangers" canon. Throw in the fact that Zedd got usurped by the Machine Empire and Royal House of Gadgetry, Serpenterra is confirmed destroyed, and his wife is now the Mystic Mother on the side of good, and Zedd just... doesn't hold the same level of weight to his threat he used to. A powerhouse on his own, sure, but hardly worth a Zordon-Sacrifice.

A Disney executive cancelled the Owl House originally because he didn't like it, Disney didn't deem it popular enough to continue, and didn't even think social media was relevant enough to gauge interest, only to get shocked by the constant outpour of support and petition for the show to be brought back.

I liked Chip Lynn’s run, even with the more goofier elements, but there’s more of a go-getter vibe with Simon Bennet so far. I hope Hasbro doesn’t slow things down since I know there’s a weird thing with Toei going on. It’d be a shame to miss out on Kiramager.
Dino Charge and Beast Morphers were more of what I expected from a Chip Lynn Power rangers season even with the restrctions in place and thanks to him we also FINALLY got Austin St John to come back too. Ninja steel suffered the most from the stupid execs above him and while nickelodeon remained an annoyance Beast Morphers still felt so much better than most of the neo saban era. But Bennet's working some miralces too with the old cast, I NEVER thought David Yost would agree to come back it was'nt even on my radar.

Izzy was such a delight, her and Javi's first morphed fight was so damn cool with the sword trading and then spinning it on the javelin. Really good season and while the theme in isolation is mediocre at best it fits in with the rest of the music and sound design for the series - I particularly love the morphing music and how Amelia's Ankylosaurus' hammer smacks the ground in time with the percussion. A lot of really nice little touches

As a straight man I do like the romance between Izzy and Fern. s. I liked how it's just a normal relationship. And everyone is supportive of it. I'm glad they didn't do the cliche of family/friend doesn't approve of the relationship because of their beliefs.

On another note and a nice bit of trivia, the monster suit used for Void Queen actually came from the Train themed Super Sentai series ToQger. You know, the one that will never get a Power Rangers adaptation.

On the topic of the multiple universes of Power Rangers, I can kind of see how you could get confused by it and understand your position on it, but at the end of the day, I think you might be overthinking it. Basically, unless stated otherwise or the world of a series is vastly different from other Ranger series, the series takes place in the main continuity. The main basis for why RPM and Dino Charge had to be from different dimensions is because they just can't fit in properly with the main continuity due to the nature of their worlds; RPM being post apocalyptic, and Dino Charge, while it could have been part of the main continuity at some point, basically made it impossible due to its ending. While you do raise points about certain aspects of Beast Morphers that make it questionable, the simple fact that the world itself isn't all that radically different from the world of the majority of past PR series means it's part of the main continuity by default.
The Zedd voice with the filter is much better. I saw a clip of the first voice not too long ago, and my immediate reaction was oh no.
The Sporix being scattered across the city and being activated accidentally or having to be found by the villains is a fun explanation for the eternal Rangers formula of the villain only unleashing a single monster at a time.
31:18 I seem to recall it being explained that the _identity_ of Zedd or something like that was dead and that was enough for Reghoul to revive him.
I guess if Snide or Doomwing were erased without being separated while Heckyl or Zenowing remained, Reghoul could bring them back too as it's the same logic that seems to be at play here except with those two being created from good people while the new person that Zedd turned into was created from an evil person.

My first "Oh My God" as a kid was the Green Ranger winning...he destroys them and I remember it ending on them losing. I had to know what happened next. So I'm with you. Kids definitely retain information. I don't think cliffhangers would be so popular otherwise.

- Zedd was "revived" by taking his pure evil essence (via dimensional space time travel) and recreating it, meaning he doesn't have the human form inside himself to hold back.
- As far as the "main"/"alternate" universe thing with Beast Morphers, remember that Rita, Sledge, and NASADA were name-dropped in Beast Morphers. In regards to Jason, it is just to make his appearance extra special for some stupid reason. Why didn't they call the MMPR or Lightspeed Rangers to help with Zedd? Because the show didn't have the budget for it. It's the same reason why none of the Rangers actively helped the Megaforce Rangers or why past teams don't show up immediately when new giant monsters and Zords start running rampant.
Name-dropping Rita, Galvanax, and Sledge doesn’t prove BM is in the prime universe. Remember, Wes gave all Ranger teams devices that allow them to portal jump and stay in touch with each other without disturbing each team’s timeline. Plus, there’s the Legendary Ranger Database that Noah created. They are aware of other PR villains. That doesn’t mean they’re in the same universe.
In regards to Beast Morphers and Dino Fury being in the same universe. I'm just going to assume it operates on how it worked before RPM. That yes other ranger teams exist but don't involve themselves in the affairs of another team unless it's something they can't handle and since Grid Battleforce were getting their own team of rangers they felt they didn't need to get involved and the reason they entrusted their morphers and weapons for Grid Battleforce to study is because...The Kool-Aid Man is red.
11:44 Fun fact; that scene was actually taken from one of the final episodes of the original Sentai, Ryusoulger, which is a really interesting use of footage.
So, I recently realized that Tarrick/Void Knight's actor played the mechanic that gave Calvin a job in Super Ninja Steel. I dunno why I find that funny.
Finally! Also, one of things I liked about Dino fury was some of the foreshadowing. For example, about Amlia's relation with Void knight's, this was more or less teased in the end of season 1, where Amelia was the first to tackle him. In season 2, when they were eating rafkon cakes, amelia enjoyed eating them while the rest minus Aiyon and Zayto didn't. Another hint was when Tarrick was revealed, Amelia was the first to call out his identity. It's small details like this that makes me respect the season a bit more.
Oh, and as for why season 1 struggled, it's because dino fury was originally going to be just one season, but as it was picked up for two, most of the filler episodes where produced for the first season. It's why season 2 had a bit more serialization.
Btw linkara, one question: what do you think about the other villains minus Void knight, lord zedd and void queen? Some thought mucus and slyther were annoying but I kinda like them. Plus, seeing them living a normal life after void queen's defeat makes me wonder if this is the first time since whiger in jungle fury where non-human villains finally turned to the good. Although it could just be a jindrax and toxica scenario where they're just waiting for the right moment to strike lol anywya would love to hear your thoughts on them.

It is interesting to me how many times the villains of the series have family connections, either of blood or otherwise and the vast array of how those connections are treated, from caring greatly for their family to not really caring at all.
I finished this series about 20 minutes and I will say this: Dino Fury has an absolutely AMAZING final episode! I haven’t finished enough Power Rangers series to call it the best but it was still really good. A lot better than Beast Morphers’ anyway!
Wow, I never expect these until the summer after the season is over at the least so this is like Christmas! For me having a lesbian ranger and relationship depicted was a massive thing, something I wasn't sure the show was even allowed to do and which attracted a predictable backlash. Add in Izzy's cousin and this show deserves a lot of credit on the representation front.
It's a shame that there are still some editorial mandates to follow but both Hasbro-era shows have just been far superior to pretty much anything we've had in years and really show what you can do when you put the thought into your storytelling.
Outside of the story beats and character stuff I have to say my absolutely favorite thing about Dino Fury is the morphing sequence. The first time I saw it my eyes lit up and I felt like I was a kid again. It's just so. dang. good. One of, if not, my favorite morphing sequence to date.
Been watching as much Linkara as possible, since I discovered this channel last month. Really love the insights and logic behind a lot of your analysis. I gotta say this has gotten me more interested in checking out the comics and the show again. I like the idea that instead of completely changing the cast for a new season, we're back to focusing on one team but they'll be getting an upgrade on their powers as they'll be facing a more dangerous foe that's gotten the proper build up since he's also a classic villain from the past that even the original team couldn't just defeat without significant sacrifices. Hope it pans out.

@@AT4W I'm kind of curious what your HOPR plan is for the MMPR 30th special Once & Always given it is coming before Cosmic Fury since the video didn't address it. Is the review for that going to be lumped with the Cosmic Fury review or will it be given its own separate short HOPR video?
This is one of those seasons that works surprisingly well. Sure, it has it's flaws but none of those flaws are a deal breaker and you find yourself really liking how things turn out.
Dino Fury was... not that great in my opinion. It just didn't exactly meet my standards. It omitted way too much from Ryusoulger, and they did Pricious (Void King's counterpart) dirty. It had a bad theme song. The acting was way too subdued in a lot of scenes. Amelia and Ollie got on my nerves so many times. The sporix beast weren't as compelling as the Minosaurs from Ryusoulger. It uses the legacy too much. They used another ToQger villain. And it just felt so juvenile. I don't know maybe Kamen Rider set my standards too high.

@@dylansharp8471 The Minosaurs were created from humans, meaning that they were tied into and had connections to the character of the week, making them more important and them growing was because they too human life energy. The Sporix are just your basic run of the mill monsters. They weren't even that threatening they were just idiots.
@@dylansharp8471 Ollie was a prick, whenever he learned his lesson, it never really stuck and Amelia's superstitious beliefs made no sense because monsters show up all the time in power rangers and she's out here looking for big foot and junk, who cares about big foot when you have a giant monster fighting a giant robot right outside your window?!
