My theory (completely non credible btw): she has dpdr but instead of confusion/reclusion she plays the world like it’s the game she perceives it to be. Most dpdr people are withdrawn by their lack of emotion as they observe the world as it happens without them, she is curious to observe just how the timeline conforms to her presence.
Basically, the difference between watching how the wind ripples the surface of a pond, and dropping in a rock.
Her real name is Anna Sorokin, born in Russia and relocated with her parents to Germany. She’s currently under custody of the US Immigration & Customs enforcement in a New Jersey country jail awaiting deportation back to Germany, which she’s currently contesting.

Right. I don't want to speculate on Nef's character as we don't know her personally, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were helping out and vouching for each other with schemes/scams. One of the only logical reasons I can think of why she would defend Anna is that they were hustling together.

I don't know if they were hustling together, but I assume she feels that way towards her because maybe she thinks they were sharing a special bond. Considering the fact that she is the only person she payed back.
