Now that we have seen all the 3 female characters in reality I must say that all 3 were extremely well depicted in the TV series. Especially the concierge and Rachel. Rachel has this nervous energy that the actress had too when she played her.

he’s not a licensed psychologist, because he let his license expire by his own volition.
He has never been licensed to practice in California, where he films. And he retired his active Texas license back in 2006. I’m not a Dr Phil fan, but I dont really question his education (he does have a PHD), just his morals.

I understood that she initially had a stylist, but that it didn’t last long because she didn’t/couldn’t pay her. She had court issued clothing that she threw huge temper tantrums about. From what I understood people ended up bringing her outfits to wear, including that white dress she wore at sentencing. That was donated by the reporter that befriended her and really broke her story to the greater public. So yeah, some of them could have been from Target.

I thought Phil's questions were 100 percent accusatory and 0 percent geared to learn Anna's story. I call him Phil because he is not a real doctor. Phil even twisted one of Anna's answers to be about Rachel when it was not an admission of owing Rachel money. The police, the jury, and Vanity Fair ALL concluded Anna did not commit a crime against Rachel because Rachel voluntarily gave her credit card to the hotel and also voluntarily committed FRAUD by giving her job's credit card to the hotel. The only threat the hotel gave was to kick them out. Heaven forbid Rachel be kicked out of a luxury hotel and check in to the Motel 6. Yet, Phil thinks he knows more than the police, the jury, and Rachel's job (aka the owner of the credit card Rachel FRAUDULENTLY used on a personal vacation Rachel was on).

I feel like boomers just don’t understand the new generation and our language. She literally answered all his questions and Dr. Phil has the nerve to say she didn’t answer anything 🙄 and goes on to call her a narcissist when he’s not an actual doctor/psychiatrist so he can’t make that assumption. And she told him she can’t diagnose herself as well. I mean… what more does he want her to say?? In my opinion, she was as truthful as someone like that is gonna be. I do believe she has problems but the way Dr. Phil is handling it is absurd. He loves to make everyone look bad and make himself look and seem better than everyone else, when he gets his moments. I just read on wiki following : While still in prison on March 1, 2022, Sorokin joined a class-action suit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union. Sorokin alleges ICE refused multiple requests for a COVID-19 booster shot. Of course she wouldn't take the experience of being convicted and being imprisoned back - it's a big part of how she attained her notoriety. Had she not had this trial and been convicted, most of us would have no idea who she was today. "High society" certainly wasn't keen to admit how easily they were duped. And in an ideal world, people would realize that continuing to give her platforms for publicity has only reinforced her behaviour and raised the likelihood that others may be inspired by how simply she exploited others. She should have been deported and sentenced to a lifetime of obscurity; that's what she fears the most.

Neff was depicted as this heroic character with all this integrity but it's not reflected in the pictures and stories when you take a closer look. Even with the hero illusion I could see through Neff in the film. No one vouches that hard for a true narcissistic person like that without being opportunistic. Narcs attract bottom feeders because narcs are transactional only. Anyone who remains long term close with Anna is a parasite.
I mean they both equally use each other for sure, but it doesn’t not appear that they disguise it between themselves. Which I think is a big factor which differentiates them from Anna’s other friendships. They know they are both benefitting from this whole scheme of things and they’re okay with that. She is attractive enough I suppose to clean up real good with makeup, but those jowls make her look much older than she really is. I mean, I am no prize myself, I am 38, have been balding since my early 20's and am short, but I know what I can go after and when someone is not in my league. I don't think that Dr Phil was allowing for cultural differences.
That's not to say that what Anna did was okay at all, but, I can hold two separate ideas in my head at the same time and I'm uncomfortable with Dr Phil making these proclamations publicly about this person having only talked to her for a bit and I didn't hear him say anything about allowing for cultural differences.
I spent time in Russia and I lived in Germany the two places Anna lived before the United States.
The Russians don't do small talk and they have a whole different way of being in the world as do the Germans but the Germans and the Russians have a much more similar way of being in the world than Americans and in fact Americans irritate both we're too over familiar to over friendly where to smiley to happy to familiar with people to quick they don't like things like how was your day they find not to be a very invasive question where we might find it to be rude not to ask.
I see a lot of the cultural distinction in Anna and I know Americans being xenophobic and thinking it's the greatest place on earth when it's really not you need to allow for that and then kind of see where that mental health falls in the spectrum and the culture she was raised.

Trust me, some of the "best" scammers I've seen in action are just ordinary looking people. This is why they find it so easy to fool people: they appear run-of-the-mill. Anna et al are a motely crew of very bland looking people, and none of them are particularly attractive...especially Anna. She would never, ever have got so far with her charades in Europe. While Americans might have been impressed by her rather unusual European accent and mannerisms, Europeans themselves would have seen through her look, shtick or personality.
Dr Phil is putting words in her mouth and painting her as a villain quite literally. Yes she took advantage of people but to a far lesser degree than your boss does of you, or any other opportunistic business person does of a situation where they know their upper hand. Her actions were morally neutral in my continuing opinion.
Fraud is a crime. End of. She wasn’t a business person she was a fraudster. She lied, brought chaos to many peoples lives and ultimately committed criminal acts. There is no comparison with her behaviour, morally or otherwise, to that of a law abiding ‘real’ business person.
I agree. There are rich people out there hussling people every day. Entrepreneurs start out with nothing and they get money however they can. I really don't see how she deserved jail time. I'll be watching this person cause I believe she may prove to be someone to watch.
@@kqs2674 there are plenty of situations where fraud is morally just or neutral that are also by law a crime and there are also many businesses people who abuse and manipulate and are allowed to with impunity. I think many people will agree that taking money from people who have generational wealth and more than enough in life (her victims) isn’t as bad as taking labor from people who have little (employers paying minimum wage while living in excess)

No you are confusing representing yourself fraudulently as a person to gain admiration, or friends, i.e portraying yourself as something you are not - like telling people you once climbed Mount Everest, but you have not. This is a lie, might gain you some admiration and respect but you are fraudulently misrepresenting yourself, however in the grand scheme of things is not illegal (immoral, yes). She not only did that but lied about financial security she claimed to have in order to secure a multi million pound ‘loan’ and this is a crime ( imagine if you or i concocted an elaborate scheme to lie and provide ‘substance’ about the size of our salary in order to secure lending for a mortgage that was way above what we could actually afford). Be under no illusion, who do you think pays for these type of criminal activities, it’s not the mega corporation, it’s you and I, the regular people who pick up the tab of illegal activity through increased premiums (insurance, credt purchases etc). I have zero sympathy for this woman, she is a common petty thief, plain and simple.

Her earlier interviews are definitely narcissistic. She does sound like shes grown up some. I’ll never forget her quote, “If people are dumb enough to let me steal money from them, then it’s their own fault.” Only a narcissist and sociopath would say that.

Admiring Anna's perseverance, determination and focus in achieving what she wants. But in many ways she hustled the wrong way and that's her crime, She was too much of herself and too confident of what she thinks she is capable of to the point of already stepping down on others, Many will be guilty of that of course, when she could have done it in a different way, in a fair squared way. And maybe she did all these for the emotions she had since she was a child, that insecurity and inferiority feeling of being no one and having nothing.
