What is this?
DanceOn Class combines hit music with the DanceOn Network’s incomparable talent to help you learn the latest dance trends and hear the music that makes the dance community move and groove! This week features choreography from Hamilton Evans, and was directed & edited by Ricky Crouch a.k.a Typo.
Who is Hamilton Evans:
Hamilton Evans was born and raised in a small country town in the United Kingdom. After graduating from one of London’s leading professional dance colleges, he went on to teach at Pineapple Dance Studios and Studio 68.
His classes made a big splash and opened up many doors choreographically. His choreography credits include the London Olympics Gymnastics Opening Ceremony, Attitude Magazine Awards, and the Discovery Channel Commercial. He worked with some of the leading artists in Europe and was the Creative Director for L’oreal Paris ‘London.’
In 2014, Hamilton moved to Los Angeles to take his career to the next level. And he was an instant hit. Hamilton is now on the schedule of all the top studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, The Edge Performing Arts Center, and IDA Hollywood.
His classes have garnered requests for him to teach at studios and conventions across the United States and around the world (France, Spain, Poland, Russia, Japan, Singapore, and Norway).

I have yet to see a choreographer capture the new jack swing vibe of this song. This choreo is great but I feel like incorporating some old school moves would make it more satisfying to watch.

I've just started watching Hamilton's videos and one thing I can say is that his routines are very fluid and fun to watch. They seem to exhibit the joy of dance and movement. I love them. Dancers in his classes seem to be enjoying themselves immensely.

Yall are dancing your asses off, but the choreography is missing the essence of the song. I needed some 90's new jack swing moves. Not the entire choreography, but at least some. The dance moves are too hard and robotic while new jack swing was about smoothness, fluidity, and fun. Keep doing your thing, but just wanted to give some feedback.

Not trying to hate at all everyone was awesome, but the choreographer had an opportunity to blow it out with some cool new jack/90s dance stuff. His choreography just doesn’t go with the songs vibe. Maybe they should re-do this one and add some of those old school elements

I mean, it's hip hop choreography, and Bruno Mar's new album is inspired by new jack swing, but that doesn't stop it from also being part of the pop/hip hop genres
Oh, I'm not saying that this cat should "stop", it's a free country. He can dance however he wants. But, back to my point, check out the "Finesse" choreography of Mark Dogillo on UA-cam. You'll observe that his style is more true to the authenticity of the New Jack Swing style.

I'm not feeling the choreography to this song, the moves are too girly and it doesn't incorporate any dance moves or style for the New Jack Swing era. The Choreography isn't bad, it's just not in sync with the essence of the song.
