Description: The Research Computing Student Worker Program at UVA was established to enhance computational research support across the university by engaging student workers in short-term projects. This initiative relieves Research Computing (RC) staff from routine tasks, allowing them to focus on more complex, domain-specific research challenges. The program supports RC staff and provides students with early exposure to high-performance computing (HPC) and scientific computing, along with invaluable professional development opportunities. This presentation will cover the program's establishment, key milestones, progress to date, and the challenges faced as we continue to refine and expand the initiative.
