Jimin was telling a story and sharing his vulnerability. Letter finishes it off perfectly. Quality vs quantity.
i actually cried when this song came on and i rarely do so for any music. jimin talked about how hard he struggled trying to put his emotions through music and the lyrics really concerned me a little because he has done it perfectly. i hope he doesn’t feel that way again, and has healed.
He said in one of the interviews that he's perfectly fine now and doing all these tracks let him release those emotions he was feeling during lockdown/covid times (we're still in covid but it was rly something else 2-3 years back)
@@g100-w6j yeah, when covid hit everyone was at their worse and it really effected the whole world i can’t even imagine what he must went though but i could feel it from what he shares with us through his music. this whole album was beautiful. i’m glad he’s doing okay.
@@yoonology I agree, covid really exhausted everyone mentally. I felt like I was drifting everday without really thinking or feeling anything, bts really pulled me out of that slump. I'm glad he was able to heal too...

Honestly this song feels like something i was telling myself in the mirror when during quarantine i buried myself in alcohol. I kept drinking to sleep, days and week merged together and everytime i tried to make excuses for this behavior but looking in the mirror i could see myself tell me "you need to stop before it's too late, you're loosing yourself". And i didn't tell anyone how i was and it was, i pretended it was okay, did zoom calls with friends like it's nothing but still i couldn't sleep if i wasn't drunk

The album is so short because he just wanted to tell this ONE story of his past two years during the pandemic. It's about him being lonely, lost, depressed, and full of negative emotions during these times. Set Me Free is indeed the end, where he declares himself free from all that crap. No worries, he's hinted plenty about next album already being in the works 👀
