Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! Oh wow! The snail idea is such a unique and a great concept and idea! Mind if I try it out later for a challenge run as well? I'll make sure to let everyone know that it was your idea and that you inspired the challenge ;)
My favorite part was where you got the garden bundle! I’ve never done a flower only play through but I did do one where you can’t buy from anyone! Though I did allow myself the backpack upgrade and any “vendors” who required money and resources… don’t know how I could’ve done it otherwise without buildings and upgraded tools. I felt for you when you got the brewer’s bundle because it replaces the one that gives you a keg, so you have to raise your farming skill really high just to complete it, which for me was hard because I could only plant mixed seeds! Maybe it will be a bit easier for you with all the flowers but it took me FOREVER! I was even resorting to not using the auto grabber I found in the skull cavern to get farming XP by picking up the eggs from the dino coop I’d started building up. Ha. It’s so hard to max farming when you can’t buy seeds or animals!
I know! I am still working on the next episode of this series and I will be posting the episodes and content starting on July 10th! I love seeing and listening to fellow Stardew Valley challenge players, and it's always great to see the many ways we have fun by challenging ourselves! And yes! The farming took forever level took forever~~~ way too long than I wanted it to be but in the season of Fall the fairy roses provide a lot of farming experience so that was a saving grace for sure!
I'm so impressed by your challenges! You do a really great job with them! I'd like to share some other challenge ideas I've tried and enjoyed, just for future use someday, maybe. 1. Get backpack and fiberglass fishing rod by day 3. (I made a video about this one.) 2. No watering can allowed. (Before Ginger Island.) 3. Cannot leave farm except days when you buy a Joja membership or bundle. Goal is to buy Movie Theater to complete run and be free. (I recommend Forest Farm, for the wild seeds.) 4. Cannot live on or use farm in any way. Without mods, this means you pass out every night at 2am and leave farm immediately upon waking up each day. Also cannot use TV or seeds etc. from cabin. 5. Cannot use energy. Not one single point of energy, ever. Using chair to hop into Secret Woods is okay. (Hint: Bombs are life!) I'm always interested to hear other challenge ideas! My current challenge is to "do nothing" in year one except collect recipes, raise friendships (for recipes), and forage, then try to complete the Gourmet Challenge in year two, to get the chef's hat. I also am allowing myself (in year one) to use one basic sprinkler I bought from the travelling cart to grow just a few crops. But I do not use my fishing rod or watering can, I don't chop trees or rocks on my farm in year one, and I don't go into the mine with my pickaxe. I do hop into the secret woods with a chair. I'm not buying any animals in year one, but I'm allowed to buy the buildings if I want. Basically, all of Year One is just pre-setup for the Gourmet Run in Year Two. Call it "mis en place" if you will.
Thank you for the kind words and the great ideas once more! Love them! Keep them coming whenever you can, I love new challenges that can 'spice' up the gameplay! 1. Love your video, and I will make sure to take note of it when trying this challenge myself, I will also try to add some input to it as well, although I am not sure how as you did a pretty good job hahaha 2. I actually am doing the No Watering Can challenge in my "Life as a Miner" run, so I can probably tick this off my list. 3. This one is very interesting, and as you recommended, I think the forest farm would be the best farm as it provides forage. I also think the beach farm would be another ideal farm setup as well because of the crates you can get. I might do this twice, one with the forest farm and the beach farm to see which one is more efficient. 4. Probably the hardest one so far, but with mods, it would be very possible, I think I saw the UA-camr Seanie Dew and Waligug do something similar to this. But for me, as I don't like to do challenges with exploits or mods when I can, I will always lose 10% of my total money. So this will definitely be an interesting challenge to do. 5. This one is also a cool idea, it would be a little hard but not impossible, I do have a vague idea of how to make this work. Bombs would be essential as you mentioned to till the land, make space, etc. Laying down paths would be also very important to prevent future debris, and buying fish and items from the traveling merchant and NPCs for CC. Most of the money would probably be made by foraging, trash collecting, and farming monsters in the mines as attacking doesn't consume any energy. Your "Do nothing" challenge sounds very fun and also relaxing! But also is an interesting way to approach the game, as it does take patience and planning for Year 2. Let me know how it goes!
@@indiemasters In #4, the "avoid the farm" challenge, I did it without mods. Planning to pass out every night at 2am caused interesting changes in how you manage your money. It is best to stay broke nearly all the time, to minimize losses, but you learn how to stockpile resources and "uncashed checks" from quests that are easy to cash in quickly. I set up house in the mines entrance to avoid having NPC's walk there, and farmed a lot of crops in garden pots. I went Joja route so I could quickly buy my way into a greenhouse just to get the garden pots. In #5 "no energy", I found I could farm a surprising lot of crops because there are large areas of Forest Farm with no stumps or boulders. It helps to plant lots of grass to stop debris from spreading. I planted a lot of wheat to make into beer, because wheat can grow with just rain. But I hit high gear when I got pigs! I nearly had to leapfrog straight past cows and other barn animals because it costs energy to milk them. Autograbbers did help that though.
@@Marialla. True! That is some great insight! Yeah, I guess for number 4 it would be best to stockpile everything and cashing in only when you need to buy something. #5 experimenting with the different type of farm layouts would definitely be an interesting thing to do for sure as to see which one would be best optimal.
I’m brand new to your channel, but I absolutely adore it! I’m not the best at English, but your videos are talkative, fun, and use a lot of words to help with my own! Thank you
I love this idea! 😁 I thought about attempting this a couple of times but it looks more appealing with additional flower mods and I mostly play on the switch. Cool video though!
Glad that you enjoyed the video :) Yeah, I also contemplated if I should add more flowers through mods for the playthrough, but decided to stick with a vanilla playthrough for now. I would recommend that you use them if you want to try this challenge yourself as that would be more fun! hahahah
I sort of felt sad for you, knowing that you had planted the ancient seed but being unsure of just what you could do with the fruit. Must admit I would have sold cauliflower and would also sell red cabbage. The first because, well flower is in the name, and the other because cabbages look a bit like giant roses and I have seen them (especially the varigated type of small cabbage) in flower arrangements. Congratulations on the wonderful amount of rain and how far you got in the mines. Enjoyed watching.
Glad that you enjoyed the video! Since I also work full time these videos take quite some time to make as I only have the weekends to make them so I really appreciate the feedback and comments! I will continue trying to make the best content for you :)
Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed the video! Hahahah great catch on the days for the quests! Usually for my intro segments and b-rolls I tend to use Stardew Api (incase you dont know what it is, it is a mods/cheats engine for stardew valley) so sometimes that messes the time settings in game! But besides that all the real gameplay and footage are real non modded!
great video! great idea! i’ve always wanted to do a playthrough where i can only sell snails, snail row, snail caviar, and escargots
