Very cool locomotive! The V60 was my very first lok at age 13. Now I am age 64. And it is still my favourite. This one looks amazing, and all the effects are great. ESU has done a very nice jpb. Thank you for the unboxing video.
Greetings! I too have ESU V 60 with the old red paint scheme. I use Märklins CS3 but it lack some problem by use DCC protocol and trying program too. In fact does Mobil station MS2 works better with DCC stand as protocol alone. A tip...use Roco or ESU plastic short couples. ESU digital couples are magnetic and Märklins short couples are part of metal details which makes hard to uncouple the wagons. I plan to buy a MS2, but i did read Webnews (Märklin homepage) yesterday that Märklin did verified new MS3 with WLAN! Seems promise and possible with new icon symbols present in the new MS3. By the way...power cap in the locomotive can adjust by use DCC protocol, not with the mfx! Not sure if it works with the Loksound 5 which our V 60 are equipped with.
I hope you are enjoying your V 60. Regarding the CS3: I have not tried using DCC with the CS3 and am using the V 60 with MFX - no issues so far :-) I am using DCC with MS2 for Minitrix. I have not used it much, but have not seen any issues. No experience with programming for DCC yet. Interesting in hearing what issues you have with DCC & CS3 as I want to use Minitrix with the CS3. As for the MS3 - do you mean the RC3? www.maerklin.de/en/products/details/article/55017 Enjoy and have fun with your model trains :-)
@@ModelTrainFun Hello! RC3 wireless and the receiver will not produce by Märklin since the company did verified stop production because do not meet requirements. Instead will a new MS3 been placement as radio control devices with WLAN. Yes i do have problem by use CS3 with the ESU V 60. I know myself that DCC protocol alone will control ESU locomotive better than mfx. Right now i use mfx protocol with the CS3 and it works nice too, but i prefer to use DCC because of the other features to use by program ESU locomotive.
Hi Christian, Are you asking what digital central I use for driving my trains? I am using the Märklin Central Station 3 (CS3) and the Märklin Mobile Station 2 (MS2). Enjoy ;-)
@@christianarboit No - I have not had any issues with MS2 and ESU decoders. If something is destroying your decoders are you sure it is the MS2? Unless it is damaged I would find this unlikely under normal circumstances. Suggestions to troubleshoot: - check the ESU locomotives with the destroyed decoders. This might be the most obvious - then again not. All wires ok. Anything potentially touching something else. - Any extra special components connected to the ESU decoders? - Are these original ESU locomotives or did somebody add the decoders to locomotives? was this done abosolutely correctly? - Ensure using only components that fit together: MS2, connector box and power supply - see: ua-cam.com/video/6hX2JxWqQeM/v-deo.html - Ensure all components are undamaged - no broken plastic or broken wires. - Ensure that your layout do not have any kind of electrical funny issues such as slight touching of something, all wires ok and all digital decoders ok - check all locomotives on the track are ok - even non-ESU ones - how about the network power from the house - stabil? - Is the power grounded probably - other ideas? If all this fails - perhaps ask your local train store for help? Not sure this helps, but I think something is unfortunately wrong if decoders are destroyed.

Unless they have been modified Broadway and Athearn locomotives are 2 rail locomotives. You can run 2 rail DCC locomotives on Trix tracks with the CS3. You can only drive locomotives built for 3 rail on the Märklin track. A locomotive built for 3 rail has a slider underneath to pickup power from the 3rd center rail. Some places in the US offer to modify 2 rail locomotivies to become 3 rail locomotives. To drive the locomotive with a CS3 it must be digital (MM, FX, MFX or DCC). You can use the CS3 with 3 rail tracks (Märklin) or 2 rail tracks (any manufactor). Did this help? Enjoy ;-)
Hallo nice video. The number 364,365 says, that the Lokomotive is a remote control Lokomotiv. Light or heavy version. One light in front of the Lokomotiv is a shunting signal in Germany, it is called Fz1. Greetings from Germany
@@ModelTrainFun yes this is right. The shunter is all the time the operator. Here is an example, it was filmed in muinch. Look at the left side, the Lokomotiv shows the shunting signal. ua-cam.com/video/JE8Mlboi670/v-deo.html
Yes, these can be hard to find. I see that the new one from Märklin (37861) is already sold out. It seems one need to pre-order these as soon as they appear. You can still find the ESU versions like the one in the video at various model train shops. It's a great model with the exception of with the automatic uncoupling not working automatically with Märklin couplers. It's a popular model I am sure new ones will appear. Have fun ;-)
Marklin is AC and 3-rail. Some like it and some don't. It is difficult to find non-European rolling stock for Marklin. Marklin is good quality, detailed and easy to use. However, some do not like the look of "the extra rail" (which makes it even more easy to use). Look around and find what best fit your needs. Personally I really like Marklin.
