@@RichardYangPiano Thanks! i just realized yesterday i actually watched some of your full lesson on the song, and just realized this cover was you again haha. i'll be checking out more of your songs!
Hey it's me, the person who asked about the handsize thing. Your hands are quite short, but You should be very very very very proud of yourself, You are an amazing pianist, and You show that Big hands are not mandatory to be an amazing pianist. The thing is: animenz's arrangements are so much easier with bigger hands, I really think his handsize played a Big roll in his technical feats, however, when practiced carefully, any hands are capable of doing exactly what he does, and Even more impresive things. Look at Yuja Wang, she is one of the Best pianists in the world, and she has trouble reaching 9ths, think about that. Also, this cover is full of color and wholesomeness, I really liked it.
Yeah, I’m gonna bet you were surprised how small my hands actually are. Animenz’s music, being able to play 10th will suffice. It’s just to bring out a more rare tone (10th). I don’t believe the hand size makes anything harder/easier otherwise except for the reach. A lot of people can’t even tell I came from classical, because my hands don’t curl into a ball. And if you look at the length of my pinky, you can now understand why. I can only keep my hands fairly flat. Anyway, never talked about my hands this much.
I absolutely adore this piece by animenz😍. You played this spectacularly🔥❤️. This song just really hits different. Btw any tips on his third hand techniques for when I come across them in the (hopefully) near future☺️. As always. I appreciate your kindness and this spectacular video ❤️
Hmm… “third hand” is not really a musical term. I heard of this term a few times before but never understood it until recently. For me, I just have two hands, but I can have more “voices”. So the key, first, you need to be able to hear these voices and be able to tell the different voices apart. Then in execution, really you just do whatever it takes to generate the sound/tone you need. In this piece 1:41, for example, I can see why people call this the “third hand”. For me, I only see that I have melody in the middle to bring out. That’s really it.
sorry for my terrible use of language😅. I understand what you are saying, I tried these before but that was months ago. Sometimes I guess you gotta just look at it another way like that. I have thought of it like that "middle melody" before. I'll think of this next time I come across something like this. Anyways, thank you for taking your precious time that you could literally do anything else with❤️
@@Visem-Piano Don’t hesitate to reach out just for chats eh. I’m a human being longing for human interaction too. ^_^’’ Around 1:40 and onward in Departures, it sounds fairly smooth in the recording, but that’s a lot more difficult than the 1:41 jumps in this piece. I rarely talk about piano music in terms of technique. My preferred term is problem solving. When there’s a problem, you find a way to resolve. That’s what I do everyday on the piano. When I find something difficult, I try to “solve” it by finding a way that’s either easier or makes more sense. In doing so, I improve. That’s how everybody should treat piano learning.
Damn bro its really amazing that you have time for your passion even though your a father and electrical engineer. How long have you been playing piano?
I’m not really a piano player myself but I can tell this took days, if not weeks to practice. This was so beautiful man, the smoothness and flow within each note is something people must aspire to play like. Keep up the great work though, I can tell you’ll get big and popular.

Record sound to USB as .mid, video from iPhone. Use Garritan to convert to .wav. Use iMovie to join video and audio to .mov. Upload. I use PianoTeq for live feedback since Garritan is too slow and soft and even buggy. I use Garritan only to convert .mid to .wav. I don’t have any audio interface, just midi cable and audio cable to/from laptop.
Hey may you help me with an issue I have with Garritan cfx. My problem is that it is too quiet when compared to my internal Yamaha piano stock sound. It is quiet with all default settings. I have tried increasing stuff like the saturation knob and microphone sliders, it increases the sound but it gives it a more harsh, "noisy" sound, it isnt crystal clear and pleasant sound like some others with garritan cfx. Someone suggested that I change velocity curves, it makes it louder but I lose the soft touches when I get good volume. Other people have default velocity and microphones so idk how to solve the issue
We’ll, I have the exact same set up with rach3master’s settings. Yes the volume is very low. Cranking up the piano volume to maximum will bring this to an acceptable personal-playing level. And yes there are a lot of noises, artifacts, and sometimes the sound craps out. So these are all present in my set up. And I’ve learned to live with it. The reason is, once you listen to Garritan CFX, the stock sound is just not gonna cut it anymore. Now, I believe the “solution” is to add a USB audio interface box. Because from what I understand it amplifies the sound to a level that’s compatible with the piano speakers. I’m not very familiar with this stuff. The current set up, though not perfect, it’s at least “acceptable”.
@@RichardYangPiano Hey, I bought a small audio box which reduced lag. It helps but may I ask how you record. I do it by clicking on the botton of garritan cfx window, there is a record button which saves as a WAV audio file. The volume is low unless I turn computer volume up to 100. But audience listening to recording wont have 100 volume so idk how to make it at reasonable sound levels.
@@marcusli1587 Laptop running Garritan, midi cable to piano, headphone Jack to piano audio in. Turn piano sound off (function + C6). Then I use iMovie to join the video with audio and set the audio at 130% (higher you’ll get popping sound in UA-cam).
