I think the reason for one top gate is cost, I don't know for sure, but I suspect there are fewer materials required for one gate. Fairly sure some or most of the BCN has one gate top and bottom? Love the videos Steve, I am a lapsed canal boater, I spent most of the 80's/90's doing canal boat holidays (at least once a year) and use your videos to remember the good times.🥰😁 The first trip I did was Easter 1980, how the canals have changed since then.😵😉
Bloody Hell..my 12 Locks at Bosley on the Macc looks like a walk in the park compared to this😂..love the steps by the odd lock giving access to the boat...Great effort you two😊👏👏👏
I was looking forward to the Tardebigge Flight..., we had booked a boat from Tardebigge Marina and were going to do the Stourport ring. Sadly we have had to change our starting and finishing locations to Wootton Wawen and I am skeptical that we can do the ring in the two weeks and have time to do non-canal bits as we go. I'm still working out if plan B is an option, that is the Warwickshire ring.
I like the Warwick ring, the only draw back is Birmingham! My last video covers that bit (the Saltley cut) I’ve heard talk that it can be bad with youths but we didn’t have any issues 👍🏼👍🏼😊
@NarrowboatPreciousJet yeah, I did see that video, but I just rewatched it. Birmingham is a worry for us as well. Our thinking is to Moor up at curdworth or there abouts and have an early start and a long day and get through Birmingham in one day. If we could get somewhere at the North end of Stratford from Curdworth, it should then be a couple of easier days to finish the holiday
I did not realise they are called Stoke locks there. I thought when I read the title, how the hell did you do Tardebigge and Stoke in one day. Thinking Stoke on Trent locks.

We did exactly that, started early and went from Minworth to Cathrin de barns in one hit 😊😊👍🏼
