Been driving for Uber for 9 years come October. I can say with certainty that they've paid drivers less and less and less as every single year passed. It's absolutely incredible and it shouldn't be allowed. Something has got to happen. It's atrocious. Absolutely atrocious. I used to accept 100% of orders that came in, because that's how well they paid. Now my acceptance rate hovers around only accepting 30% of orders that come in. Only 3 out of 10 orders are reasonable to accept now, in my eyes. Bleh! - Edmonton, Alberta
When the pay barely covers the cost of running the vehicle (sometimes I only make $10 an hour) it's strictly a gig for people desperate for a few extra dollars.
I signed up only recently. I have a normal 40 hour job so I'm basically only doing it to save as much extra money as I possibly can right now... My car is very economical on gas so its pretty easy to make back more than what I use in gas but I can't imagine doing it as a main source of income, no way... I can't even break minimum wage hourly rate if I tried. Basically you have to be in the bougie neighborhoods where people still have disposable income. If you try to go anywhere else all you get are offensively bad orders and people who never tip
base pay is now $2.... I accidentally accepted an order while picking up one..got paid $1. I havent done uber eats in many months, its just too hard with all the lowball orders.. Offer of $4.44 to go 14 miles with someone's sushi dinner.. Nope!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I’m in the suburbs outside Philadelphia and it seems to be all luck. I guess if the offers don’t pay enough than the people aren’t getting their food 😂😂
Its combination of little less demand, rise of food cost, uber and doordash adding too many illegals, on top of new drivers and corporations are squeezing our our earnings for each orders.
nope uber eats is not dead maybe you need to multi app a bit here in this part of Ontario we use uber not just for eat in but also many time for grocery shopping Drug store celeries they always make the best discount offer the more we use it ..
Based in Manchester, England. This is a similar situation over here in old Blighty. Lots of riders, low fares, and people are skint ( no money). Added to this, customers scrooges and don't really tip here unlike in North America. I got a message of uber this week saying they are introducing trip radar. Not to sure about that. Seems difficult if you are riding around as it says you have to be stationary.
Here in Portland Uber adds around $2.00 PER ENTREE! Then they add several dollars in 'fees'. _Expecting someone to tip on top of that?_ *PLEASE!* But as bad as it is here? Seattle its *MUCH WORSE* because they have a _MASSIVE_ city wide 'tax' that they add on top of everything Portland charges. I'm quite sure UberEats will fail soon, and people will have to actually drive to get their food. (if they can afford it! ...which I doubt.)
It's dying...from 5 PM - 11 PM got a trip radar offer for $10.01 order and was able to grab it. It was a stacked order for 2 for an hour. Which means 1 person from that stacked order DIDN'T TIP. That was my ONLY ORDER. Close to 12 AM got another order, 14 something...Another 2 stack ordered. I hung it up and just went home. Self driving cars. 😂 I sense a huge lawsuit coming when these things malfunction crash and kill some people. Can't wait. It's time to go back to a regular job folks.
When you are using your own car with tremendous wear and tear with your own gas, you need to learn to boycott Uber as a driver. They are basically making us pay for the customer:s delivery so, the only two that benefit are Uber eats and the customer. Uber just turned a huge profit so, now their greed will grow even more with no end in sight. Uber needs to be regulated and pay the drivers as employees. This will end their tenure.

For sure. 3 of 10 orders might be acceptable on my end too and it takes so long to even get 10 orders that makes it extra absurd.
More people looking for work. So many will work for next to nothing. Plenty of new labor coming in.
And have you noticed every new updates on uber the pay gets lower and lower
Each new update seems to get worse in some insulting way. Like how non trip radar offers are classified as "exclusive." Give me a break.

Haha. Way too many people take terrible orders here. Best of luck in Philly!

When all else fail blame the immigrant. Put the blame where it belong, Blame Uber, Your are getting order but your pay is no longer subsidize by Uber.

Trip radar is the worst.
Great video 🎉 good luck ✌🏿
Thanks! Appreciate it.
They imported cheaper labor so that’s business. As everyone says “learn how to code”. I hate sitting behind a computer.
The delivery robots are already in LA
I had no idea they're invading this continent as well.

You might be right but for now its stock is still doing really well.
Great insight!
Thanks. I dig your video essays. Fantastic style.

It's time to go back to a regular job folks.
Yeah that sounds about right. One problem is regular jobs are so hard to come by these days in Canada.
What's you worst day in uner _ in term of money you make.
Probably close to $0. Some days are truly dead.

Word of advice. You speak too slow.
Yes I've been speaking more slowly ever since I ran into a fire hydrant and crashed into the ground and hit my head :).
