It was a common practice for Singers to do spontaneous duets with one another back in the day. Another example was when Ray Charles & The Righteous Brothers sang together. On another Show Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin & Frankie Valli also sang together.
I was about 4 when this song came out.I was born in Detroit and I remember the wonderful songs and sounds of Motown. They are a part of my childhood memories.A part of me and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world
This is a very sad memory for me at least because I loved Marvin Gaye so much and as we all know we lost him at such a young age to such an unimaginable tragedy and he was one of those people who when you heard him sing and with such passion we knew that he was going to be such a successful person in show business and he was truly one of the most iconic artists of the Motown song era and every time I hear his voice and his music it just makes me sad not having him around.
Marvin Whittaker How is that a victim of the system? Marvin was also volatile to his wife Janis whom he courted when she was under-aged and he abused drugs.
Bri nln even though he abused drugs that didn't make him missed a beat by selling records as by marrying a underage girl he wasn't the first one or the last one
Marvin Whittaker I agree but that doesn't justify his actions. I love Marvin's music but I also can acknowledge that he was abusive and he let drugs consume him. A lot of talented artist had a dark side.
RIP to the both of them now that Tina has also joined Marvin in music heaven.
HOPE THEY MET UP.
this is why youtube is great you get to see stuff like this
They were cute together singing. I bet Ike was jealous 😁
b jor 😂😂😂 I need the backstory to this 😭 I know he was probably mad as hell
You know she had to tone down the clothes at Ike's insistence.
Ike beat her ass
Hell yeah Ike was jealous
I Believe Ike Turner was Jealous for sure. He could have side women. Tina put up with alot.
So cute... I love both of them!
The king of soul. Period.

I don't know how this duet came about but I'm glad it did!
It such a treat to discover that Marvin and Tina actually did a live duet. Up until then I thought I knew everything Marvin Gaye done.

MY FAVORITE MARVIN GAYE SONG IS DOG ON
I think you mean I'll Be Doggone which was next to Ain't That Peculiar & Stubborn Kind Of Fellow written by Smokey Robinson.
I wish Marvin had performed with Aretha. Aretha loves Marvin a lot.
Tina could blow but marvin changed gears on her towards the end 😂 greatest male vocalist ever
TVG EBT like your comment, to the point 😏

@@TrelleStar thanks
both Marvin Gaye and Tina Turner were both victims of the system
Marvin Whittaker how?
Bri nln Tina Turner was in a abrasive marriage and Marvin Gaye was Berry Gordy's puppet
