- Our favorite family farm does another one of the essential tasks of owning a dairy, Spreading the manure with their D-19 Allis Chalmers and Gehl 309 Manure Spreader.
One of my many jobs as a kid with our D-17. Our spreader, like many back in the 70s, unloaded at the rear. I still say that good ol manure is the best fertilizer you can get! Fortunately, I have a friend with an "organic" dairy farm so I can get as much as I want for my 1/2 acre garden. I don't mind spreading a little fertilizer now and then!
1/2 a acre thats a big garden thats like the size of a mini mini field
@@devinstocker3215 Yeah it's a decent size food plot but it also gives me a place to play with my vintage garden tractors. What we don't use we give to family and friends.
I’d like to see more of your farm and little feed lot! How many cows are you guys milking?? Love the allis content!
Unfortunately they've quit milking since this video was made. They had around 60 when they quit
Allis chalmers and farmall are the best brand of old tractors
I'd have to put Oliver ahead of Farmall, for smooth power, ease of handling, live power, and ease of steering without power steering, and a better ride.
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing
I just put together our D19 diesel project we bought in 2014. Its a fun tractor to use.
Wow very nice. When you have to rely on it every day I'd rather use something like a D-19 than some computer controlled BS that I cant fix myself or have to wait for a company that shall remain nameless to send out a tech to look at it and tell me that they discontinued that widget so I have to buy a whole new everything. Really nice farm too. Got any room for me? I'll come right out there. Farming in the part of upstate NY that I live in is pretty much over. People from NYC and New Jersey are growing houses in every field they can find around here so fast it's incredible.
I had a D-17 series IV, it was a very good tractor.
Putting it to work love it
Patz co.
Pound Wisconsin
Gehl co.
West Bend Wisconsin
Allis Chalmers
West Allis Wisconsin
All absorbed by other companies. Once upon a time, Allis was doing some of the aquiring.
@@thegreenerthemeaner Patz is still independent, I know the Patz family.
Gehl is closed,
And the legend is gone in name only the spirit of Allis Chalmers lives on my friend
@@RJ1999x gehl aint closed they just don't do farm equipment anymore only skid steers
@@devinstocker3215 I don't think they are in west bend
Nothing like getting up close and personal with a glorious load of muck!
I’ve spread with a propane d 19 and loader
I have a propane D19 with a fresh engine.
Love your videos. Can't watch the flickering opener with the J & L Logo in the Allis Logo. The flickering might trigger an epileptic seizure. Keep on making the videos. I enjoy them. Dave N.
I've always hated seeing people leaving their foot on the clutch pedal. Yea, that 19 sounds like it's got a slight issue engine wise, sticking valve? Cheers :)
Do you have a crack manifold or is the head gasket out? I remember my dad and I replacing a head gasket on our D14. Sounded a lot like your D19.
I think it was a stuck valve, but I cant remember what they told me.
It's a crapy job but, someone has to do it hahaha.
nice tractor. But it sounds to me like it has an exhaust leak.
That's what I'm hearing, sounded like a miss at first.
Wow! Don't see many ole Gasser 19s, Looks like its on *Shitty* Duty haha. Big Horse!!! Even for its day. There's a D15 Local to me I've been eyeing... Did they Make orchard variants for all the D-Series?
I'm not sure how many orchards they made for the D series I saw a D15 orchard at the Orange Spectacular years ago
@@JandLVideos They sure are neat!!! Round here in MI Fenders alone are going for $1,000 a piece in good shape.
@@SchnelleKat I wouldn't mind owning one someday...
The reason you don't see them around is according to reports I've received from guys who owned D19G's is that under load all day and they'll burn 50-60 gallons of gas a day.
@@robertlong7033 That's all? My uncle had a 3020 Powershift gas that burned 300 gallons every 2 1/2 days pulling 4-14s in heavy Glaciated soil. The 861 Ford went 9-10 hours. The tank wagon needed to show up on the 3rd day or it was not pretty. They seldom ran both tractors when plowing. The 3020 would be discing and the 861 pulling the 4 row planter putting down starter fertilizer and granular insecticide at about the same rate of fuel disappearing. I think the gas 19s in the area were a little better on fuel than the 3020s, but not a whole lot. One neighbor had a 19 diesel that he insisted would pull 5 bottoms. 4-14s worked a whole lot better after the 2nd head gasket.....under warranty.
👏👏😎🤙😃
That tractor has seen better days for sure... sounds like shit.
