This year’s IFFI closing ceremony welcomed renowned celebrities from India and around the world to Goa.
The red carpet was graced by South Indian stars like Rashmika Mandanna and Shriya Saran, who added glamour not only with their stunning attire but also with mesmerising performances.
Mandanna captivated the audience with her dance to the hit song Saami Saami from Pushpa, while Saran delivered a grand performance celebrating India's diverse cultural heritage.
From the world of music, singers like Amaal Mallik and Mame Khan enthralled the audience with their soulful voices. Television star Rupali Ganguly also attended the grand celebration, dazzling in a sparkling outfit.
Many stars left with prestigious awards recognising their outstanding performances, creations, and contributions to cinematic arts. Vikrant Massey, celebrated for his roles in 12th Fail and Section 36, was honored as the Indian Personality of the Year for his consistent versatility in acting.
Renowned Australian director Phillip Noyce attended the festival with his daughter to receive the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Cinema Award for his inspiring career in filmmaking.
For some stars, it was their debut appearance at this esteemed event. Pratik Gandhi, known for his role in Madgaon Express, walked the IFFI red carpet for the first time last night.
The cast and crew of Bandish Bandits, including director Anand Tiwari and lead actors Shreya Choudhary and Ritwik Bhowmik, also made an appearance to promote the upcoming second season of their much-loved web series.
Veterans of the industry, such as Manoj Joshi, Ramesh Sippy, Jaya Prada, and more, added star power to the event. Renowned Hindi film directors Ashutosh Gowariker and Madhur Bhandarkar joined the closing ceremony to celebrate the awardees and the art of cinema.
The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)-a nine-day celebration of art, films, and their creators-came to a spectacular end with its grand closing ceremony at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Goa on November 28, 2024.
