The fact that these kids got those harmonies even close to right is impressive to me
just over a week ago, i performed as ti moune. it was my first lead role and from the beginning i thought i wouldn't be able to hit the notes and pull off playing such an amazing role. Without the ti moune in this production, i wouldnt have been able to do as well as i did. if you are somehow still in contact with her Katelyn, please tell her that without her, i wouldnt have been able to realise that it doesnt matter if i dont hit the notes, or if i muck up somehow, because ti moune is a person that embraces the mistakes in life. so for anyone who takes on the role of ti moune, get ready to participate in the best musical of your life. because without the ti moune in your production Katelyn, i wouldnt have understood how grateful i was, to join the line of all the incredible women that play the role. So thank you, Ti Moune in Katelyns production, i will miss playing ti moune along side you dearly.
why is no one talking about how talented the girl playing agwe is? even though she is female and normally the part is male, I think her voice was beautiful and rain was soooooo good.

Couple of hours ago I was depressed to watch for the 1st time "Junie B Jones the Musical" - annoyingly stupid empty froth that children should not be required to waste their talent on. So glad that I later found this as an antidote - a meaningful, moving production VERY well done. Thank you.

This production was great! Our director told us to look this up so we know how the story goes and flows, and to use this as an example for our own production. I'm Mama btw, and I very excited, we started rehearsal last week and I can't wait for us to play it on the big stage! Thanks for posting this so we can get a visual of it!

NaturesGem AJ I tried out for Rafiki in the lion king junior and of course I got a lioness but I still had a ton of fun. Probably more fun then I would have had if i had gotten Rafiki

I watched this when I found out my school was doing this play. Honestly, it made me develop VERY high expectations for my teacher. This production was the reason I auditioned for a villager, and I got Gatekeeper! Beautiful work, you are an inspiration to all kids. Thank you for all of your videos. Sorry I'm telling you my life story. Lol

Lol the summer acting camp ended we did the shows and now I’m sad. Imma miss the casts and the directors and everyone. I’m doing the teen camp next year so it’s gonna be a lot different.

It warms my heart to see this. I Ti’Moune in 8th grade. Many of my fellow actors and I went on to arts school for musical theatre. I still get out of music book and sight read every now and then. I love that kids are still doing this piece. I wish someone had recorded it, love to compare how I was then vs now. I’m sure these kids will want to do the same ❤

We’re doing this play for CLT this summer. I’m so excited! I know this sounds weird but I REALLY want to be ensemble. It’s so much fun to contribute to a big play with a small part. It’s so much fun because I have more freedom to get into the part without the trouble of lines.

I played papa when I was in high school. I loved doing this show. We had a fantastic cast. I was a little disappointed that papa in this cast couldn't sing better. This was a fun show to do.

Ok but every one is white in a show about color????????????????? This is like a white version of the wiz :-(((((
In the jr version it’s about the class not the color and that’s the version they’re doing
In a production like this they shouldn’t care about race
They did great and thats what matters, although their "color" didn't match the cast like required :/
maybe the theater or school is in a mostly white community
It's the only thing they could do with the people they had. Plus look at Hamilton. Was the founding fathers of the United States all black? No. Was even one of them black? No. Is it an almost all black cast? Yes. Point proven. It's fine.
