Hike in the Kaimai Range to Kakarahi Summit

Today’s Hike was in the Kaimai range, starting at Hot Springs Road, Tahawai, Bay of plenty.
We followed the trail to the top were it intersects the North/South track we turned left heading south for a few more minutes to the summit of Kakarahi which is 641 metres.
On our way back down to the car we divided to do a small diversion up to the kauri tree loop track and saw the two large Kauri Trees which are only approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the beginning of the track.
