@@twolinesslotcars thanks. Being English and a child in the 70's and 80's the ford escort is in my DNA. Can't wait to get it on the club track! Thanks for the wheelbase comparison on your live feed I also went with that Stratos and that really does drive well!
Being competition grade cars, they are assembled with the assumption that the purchaser will strip the car down and make adjustments on the setup in order to get it to run competitively, whereas the Carrera cars are produced mainly as toys, and as such are expected to work straight out of the box without any need to modify them in order for them to run properly. Removing the magnets and replacing them with small amounts of lead will help to keep the car planted on the track without the problem of the magnets putting drag on the car's performance on plastic track and will be needed when running on wood routed tracks with no magnetic attraction to the rails. Once adjusted and tuned properly, the cars are excellent performers.
@@markphillips5368 it should be able to turn wheels out of the box. I think that is a reasonable expectation. You should not have to file the body parts down to get the wheels to turn because of a design oversight. All the other stuff making adjustments etc. is a given for this type of car and I very much enjoy that process. It is fair for me to let buyers be aware that the design oversights impeed operation out of the box and can not be corrected without damaging the parts. I do like comparisons back to carrera. I feel they are useful as most owners start with Carrera cars or scalextric and the reason I do the comparisons is just to show the differences between them. Carrera make brilliant cars they have a class at the club, and the racing is fun and competitive. I could add all of the insights you pointed out above but the reviews would each take 20 mins and I am trying to keep them to 10 ish mins so they are easy for a quick watch. Thanks for watching and adding to the conversation.
Group 5 Escort and RS Capri 😁. Thanks for your handy info for the Escort
@@jetjacko yep you're right the carrera is a Capri rs 3100. The sideways escort runs well once you fix the design oversights.
Great car!! Thanks for the review!

The Carrera is a Capri, not an Escort.
@@SwiftSlots yeah I realized that afterwards. Had a brain fart. Good car though and close enough to compare size wise.
