      @SerhiyMTB Thanks, man! I feel you man. I'm fine with most drops, but gaps still scare the 💩 out of me. If it wasn't for Cory always pushing, I'd be too scared to try most of this stuff. 😅 Just take it easy. No need to rush progress. 😁👍

    Nice ridin'! I love having this place in my backyard! If you guys are ever back in the area, try to check out Heritage Trails County Park right outside of Slinger. It's a new MTB trail built by one of the same guys who built Switz, so there's some decent sized features out there. There's currently have about 5.5 miles of trail, but we are continually adding more.

    Good to meet you for a few min that day! Lil switz has since closed..no riding this season or in future. Insurance reasons. Nothing from here. Same insurance company that was in a lawsuit out west, and I guess there was no alternative financially acceptable other than closing. No bikes , but now they have extreme bingo, not joking , wine tasting , and other activities 😂😂…. Heritage trails in the same area have been getting a lot of trail building love this summer. Gotta earn your downs there tho. No lifts.

      We definitely wanna go. It's just kinda far, and flying with bikes suck. I wanna build up a van before we do that. My old van isn't reliable enough, and I can't just keep borrowing my brother's mtb van. 😅 Maybe sometime in the next couple years? But who knows, we might just throw all caution to the wind and just send it. Lol

      @LoganJohnston190 Рік тому

      @@dukeofmtb I can definitely understand that! Have you thought about reaching out to bikeflights and seeing if they’d want to do a collab/sponsored video?! They might be into the idea of you guys shipping your bikes with bike flights and showing off their custom bike boxes ;)

      @LoganJohnston190 I never considered that. Thanks for pointing that out as an option. Although, we prefer driving, and we're hooked on camping. Airbnbs and hotels can't compare to sitting around a campfire after a day of riding. 😁

      We started in early 2017. We went from big box store bikes, to old secondhand XC bikes, to our first secondhand full suspension bikes in just a matter of months. From day one, she was always pushing to hit bigger and scarier features. She definitely has bigger cajones than me. 😅 Lol

    Are you selling the Meta? I love riding mine, previously coming from an Ibis Ripley. Feels like I can throw a lot more at it.

    • @dukeofmtb
      @dukeofmtb  Рік тому +1

      Yup. It's a tank. Great solid bike. Just looking for more travel, so I bought a Transition Spire. If I got an AM instead of a TR in the first place, I probably would still be riding it. Cory doesn't like pedaling all that much anymore, so it just made sense to get a more descent oriented bike.

    • @RyanoRides
      @RyanoRides Рік тому +1

    Hi.
    You and Corey got me into mountain biking back in 2018 and i've ridden my hardtail since. I'm finally finishing grad school and have a job lined up.... and of course a nice full sus is #1 on the wishlist :)
    Question, do you like your hardtail/enduro combo, or would you ever consider going with a trail bike instead of enduro? I'm never underbiked with my hardtail for MI trails and if I went the enduro route I feel like i'd never use the damn thing around here unless I were travelling. If I went for a trail bike route (~140mm travel), I feel like I could make good use of it around MI but still have enough suspension to take it on MTB vacations.
    Thoughts? I guess this is definitely a personal decision too as it depends on how much i'll be travelling or riding park with my bike

    • @dukeofmtb
      @dukeofmtb  Рік тому

      If you can only have one bike and you don't go out of town more than a couple times a year, a trail bike is a good way to go. If you still want an Enduro bike though, getting something light and swapping out the tires with some knobby XC tires for the local trails works well too. My 170mm Spire is a pleasure to ride locally, but my 140mm Meta TR, although less travel, is too much of a tank to pedal around Stony Creek with. So make sure to keep weight in mind as well.
      I like my hardtail/enduro combo though. They cover all my needs.
