This happened to me in the car, my ex abuser grabbed me like this and held my head down to the middle console, I had just had my first shoulder repair-labrum tear and so only had one arm to use. It was only two months after my first surgery. I needed two more and he gave me an incomplete spinal cord injury on top of it.
Thank you for sharing these. Wish I had left him sooner. Wish these were taught to kids in school. Especially girls. We aren’t prepared for the men of this World.

They have such an advantage by pulling your head down and throwing bombs. Another thing you can add to what this video is showing is grabbing the hair pullers belt or top of their pants and pull them close to you so you can at least take the power out of his shots. Once you pull him close, try to sweep him. People normally let go to catch themselves from falling.

I'm just growing my hair after being bald for more than 15 years. Now I have the longest hair I ever had. I always think about it kind of like a weak spot. I still think that a bit (after being bald...) but still, this video was really helpful.
I like the jokes, the smiles, the fun ways and that you always emphasize in the videos: "you may never know".

A really simple variation that is sometimes overlooked by opponents of traditional martial arts, is to bow after you have trapped their wrist. Also, we practice two trapping variations: Trapping the wrist (as you're doing here), and slamming their knuckles. As long as the opponent isn't tweaked out, the pain from slamming your palm heel into their knuckles is intense. If hair is grabbed from behind, simply trap their wrist and whip around to face them without letting go. They'll cry uncle before you do.

Good technique! I've practiced several variations. I always start by trapping the hand and if possible executing a strike before grappling. The strike, even if it's not very effective on it's own makes everything that follows easier. One technique I do is to rotate into an armbar similar to what you showed, but without torquing the wrist to force them down. This sets up an elbow dislocation as well as elbow or knee strikes to the head and ribs as well as a possible takedown. Another, If the arm is bent or can be bent is to apply a figure 4 lock transitioning to a takedown. Once down, the attacker's back and head are exposed for knee and ground strikes. Since a hair grab is often used to start a takedown and makes it hard to maintain balance, trapping the hand, dropping to one knee and rolling will apply a massive amount of torque to the attacker's wrist resulting in a throw and/or dislocation. Finishing the roll puts you back in a kneeling position with the attacker on the ground ready for finishing strikes. Whatever technique you choose, speed is critical! As soon as the grab starts, you have to execute the technique with speed and force. Practice slow, execute fast. It's very difficult to execute any of these techniques if they see it coming. I went through these with my daughter, who has long hair, when she was in highschool. I'm much bigger and stronger than she is, but when she got it right she was able to take me off my feet and set me up for real pain. Also, a penetraing strike to the inside of the biceps just below the arm pit is extremely painful as nerves runs through there from the Brachial Plexus. A ballpoint pen or car keys can do a lot of damage there.

there is another technique that makes attacker release the grip.
when attacker grip your hair you lay your both palms one above the other on his knuckles and bow your body toward ground while you press your palms to your head you brake his knuckles against your head and hand wrist at the same time which cause attacker pain in both knuckles and wrist at once and force attacker to the ground and to release your hair

How are you going to move the pinky toward the opponent if the opponents fist is clinched ?
If he tried to break the wrist or bend it, the hair grabber always use his other hand to grab your hair again.
I also say if the opponent is bigger and stronger you’re going wherever he moves you, and he’s not going to wait for you to do your thing.
He’s not just going to grab your hair in attempt to pull it out. He doesn’t want to pull it out and has ahold of your hair because it gives him leverage.
If opponent has the hair with one arm he’s also punching at that chin with his other arm as well and possibly throwing knees and elbows.

My hair was grabbed and I froze until the person ripped it and the people took her off of me. No one teaches you to fight and run into the person, and me naturally being non violent I was just frozen. Now I know though, next time someone has the audacity to grab me I’ll give them that and more back. Teach your girls and boys with long hair to be aware of this form of assault, and teach them how to react, fight back and defend in these instances. Hair pulls can result in tragic accidents. Stay sane and safe peace xo
