Allen seems like such an amazing person. So genuine and nice. Seems like a great father too. I love how one of the things he mentioned was how this whole thing could end up being a core memory for his kids and impact the type of people they are when they grow up.
"We're far apart but close in heart" damn that made me tear a little bit... this episode is one hell of a ride and surely one for the books!!! Thank you for inspiring us as always!!
This country is packed with nice and sincere people and as just another Chinese I offer my best gratitude for showing the great humane / kind facet of my people.
As a foreigner living in what they call here a third tire city I can say this is the true face of China 🇨🇳 . Glad the world is seeing it here in your channel.

What a video!!! Just watched the whole video in laughs and tears!! This will be at the centre of our family documentary shelf!! Great pleasure to host you Cory, Derin, Matt, Stephan, Thomas, Yan and everyone to the house!! Welcome to come back any time! FROM YOUR ALLEN, MISKY, EVAN and HANNAH
This China series is my favorite! I used to live in China and this is the most accurate representation of the kindness of the locals:) it’s so hard to explain to people who have never been here because they can’t see past the media but I never experienced anything besides the kindness showed in these videos!
As someone who is Chinese, it’s so nice seeing how welcoming everyone is and how this has put a positive view for many about China. Thank you for making amazing content like this
Though I’m only half-Chinese and I live in the U.S, I appreciate how well Yes Theory shows the real China. What people see on the news doesn’t represent us.
I love how kids were part of preparation for the party and how Alan noncahalantly said thanks for babysitting. It just shows that he 100% trusted you guys and what a wonderful person he is.
Makes me cry because I want to experience these friendships and wholesome relationships But knowing I won’t have the money to visit and friends to go with. I actually have a few tears running down my face. I wish to see this beautiful culture and beautiful people. God bless anyone who reads this and just know I Am Proud Of You For Not Giving Up In Life.
Ask for a scholarship from your goverment to study in china or look out china's scholarship or look out for an scholarchip on any of the 270 universities in China.
It truly is sad that most of the things we read about China here in Europe are mostly negative. Seeing this group of people come together, being kind and loving to each other makes this even more special. You’ve shown exactly the opposite which is beautiful. This video definitely inspired me to visit China and experience this myself one day.
Haha just like what we Chinese have been indoctrinated about how negative westerners can be. We live in an information cocoons and are informed whatever our govs want us to believe. I believe most people are nice, despite their origins and ethnicity.
Incredible. I am an Indian living in Australia and I've managed to build an advertising agency with 50+ clients. The strange part of it is, they are literally ALL Chinese small businesses that I work with. They are the only people in Australia who gave me a shot and allowed me to make a living. Very misunderstood people as a whole thanks to Western Media and some of the most generous I've ever encountered.
Your channel doesn't just grasp attention or showcase travel. It genuinely elicits a true human emotion. Thank you, for continuing to be a positive change in the world.
Loved it ! I lived one year in China and it's always difficult to defend China to people around the world.. Your video just did that in a very beautiful way! Thanks~ But also I've been wanting to go back to China for years and now I want to go back even more x.x
I always understand why people don’t want to bring strangers around when they have children, but to the ones who openly trust and see the best, I understand why their children will be so much more understanding and open-minded.
In China big cities, most of people in the streets are tourists from other parts of China. In such a busy city and most of the local people are busy with their jobs or families, that’s one of the reasons why it’s difficult to organize the party, you go to smaller towns and some slow provinces like Shandong or Henan Province and ask some local English teachers, they will more than happy to host you guys
I live in US east coast, I can never trust no one here, crime rate is insanely high, people are stocking up their homes with all type of weapons like WW3 will be starting tomorrow, very sad.
@@汤圆-y7f I’m west coast, but there is still so many great people out there. Like 95% good to bad, everyone is just scared to try to be open again. I get it though, It just sucks it has to be that way.
As a long term resident of China (16 years) and 12 years in Shanghai, It's so good that people overseas see how friendly and welcoming Chinese citizens are. In all my time here I've never met a more hospitable and generous people. If you're outside of China please don't believe the negativity of the Western media, it's just political posturing. China is an amazing country full of awesome people. Come and visit and you'll soon realise just how incredible it is.
That’s not a usual case for us , our ppl is indifferent, it’s well known, the case in China coz they know English, it’s not for average person who speak Chinese only
Depends on the people. My wife is Chinese and very few of her friends from her hometown speak English but they are still very welcoming and friendly people, who I now consider are my friends. @@kenyup7936
i'm from El Salvador but i grew up in china. i can assure you Chinese ppl are extremely friendly. i would always get greeted with kindness wherever i went. China is a very misunderstood place, its nothing like the media plays it out to be. China is my second home and i miss it so much. both of my homes, China and El Salvador are very misunderstood countries that are portrayed badly on the news, but are quite the opposite when you go and explore. this video is only a tip of the iceberg of how friendly and hospitable china is.
I'm 25% through the book so far and it's such a fascinating read, very well written. Matt's personality shines through his words and makes it a very enjoyable experience! This video and every video you guys seem to upload match the tone of the book so perfectly. So it really is the yes theory book, perfectly captured!
Having lived in China 8 years ago, the hospitality and willingness to connect is totally unsurprising. You guys are amazing and chose the best place to do it! Also the English level is insanely high with this crowd
Just the look on Thomas’ face when Matt held his speech about the book in the middle of a group of strangers… that joy and pride ❤ another wonderful video! Thanks guys, for sharing all of this with us 😊 Matt, we’ll miss you so much but you’ll always be part of this community. No matter where your journey will take you. Love you buddy ❤
Suffering from social anxiety and panic disorder, it’s been a year of not even talking to people, thank you THANK YOU for making me feel good and making me push myself out of my comfort zone. I am living again. Love y’all, will miss you MATT
Don't cry I just bought your book on Amazon..I'm 78 almost 79 and this video is making me feel like my young self, gee I wish I could be on that adventure..the party was genius and inspirational !
This generosity and kindness to strangers can be found across China. Living here for 10 years, it's troubling how wrongly China and its people are misrepresented in media, by politicians and by experts who are never questioned when they make accusations and slurs. It's apparent from the video and I experience daily, people who are positive, open and happy in their lives with hopes and dreams for the future. My hope is that Yes Theory will continue for many years to come, the work you do is amazing for showing us all our common humanity. Love to you all and I'm sure that Matts book will be a great success!
glad you’re enjoying your life here ! Yeah I just recently realized how much the overall image of China has deteriorated in the past few years and honestly it’s brutal… I lived in US for couple years about 10 years ago, back then most people just don’t care or don’t have anything to say about China. Nowadays the hatred and disgust towards China seems to be widespread … maybe due to the pandemic and propaganda? It’s just sad what politicians would do to bully one country 🤷🏻♀️ Our government is certainly not perfect but it’s definitely not evil either
Everyone at the party seemed so welcoming and kind. Seeing Allen bring you all into his home without hesitation was beautiful. What a great video to highlight kindness, so needed right now.
Went to School in China for about a year and it was the most incredible experience ever! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. I made a lot of friends whom I still keep in touch till this day!
This is amazing! Congrats Matt on his book launch! I've lived in China for 5 months and I can guarantee that it is one of the most beautiful countries with amazing people just like everyone here! I didn't know Chinese when I was there however all the people I met were super nice and friendly. They tried their best to communicate in English and most of all they were so welcoming!
When my boyfriend told me you had come out with a video in China, I was so excited to watch it with him. Then I was shocked you didn't think you would be able to make it happen! Maybe the big cities are different, but Monzhouli in the north was one of the most welcoming, generous places I've ever been. I lived there for nearly two years and rarely ever went a weekend without being invited for food, a party, or a wedding. By the end of the video, I was tearing up remembering so many nights spent with strangers playing board games or getting a drink and dancing. Thank you so much for your videos and the trip down memory lane. 感谢中国北方的朋友们 我永远不会忘记你的恩情
I have never been, have wanted to go since I was 12! The media here is doing a really good job and constantly painting China in a negative light - obviously there are valid issues, but to not say that about ourselves as well is naive. Everyone I’ve met from China - while only a handful of people, has been so open, happy, and chill for lack of a better word.

As someone who grew up in China this doesn’t surprise me at all. People there really aren’t afraid to say yes or approach a stranger, especially a foreigner.
The Chinese government is the best government in the world. It loves its own people and helps poor countries in the world get rid of poverty in a peaceful way.
i love this so much. I feel like sometimes the west has a skewed perception of Asia / Asians...that we are closed off or not as friendly. But thats not true! Just like any culture, theres always people who are down for anything! This video is proof that even though we are from vastly different cultures and values - we are still HUMAN and have compassion, curiosity and respect for one another. This is a really important reminder in this troubling times we're going through. Love yalls. Peace!
This brought tears to my eyes. I started watching about 12 months ago, as I was going though a severe depressive episode. I think you guys helped save me. Thank you for everything.
when I was a child, I really wanted to visit china, I thought the culture, food and history was really interesting, I especially wanted to visit the great wall! As an Indian, growing up, our countries have always had tension way before I was born and continues to even now. My image of china over the years was tainted. the country I once very fondly wanted to visit slowly started to become a place I was not only biased against but maybe even dislike or hate. Hearing all the negative things in the news, hearing certain elders and politicians talk about the country, i found myself start to take their ideology. I was reluctant to start this series because of that, maybe I was scared of the truth but when I started your china episodes, it felt like a huge weight was off my back. I got tears in my eyes during all of the episodes. I couldn't believe how I could start thinking so negatively. The common person has always been good, its just the agenda of some people who ruin it for everyone else. I kind of feel the child in me being excited again! I will visit china as soon as I will be able to and I hope to get along with all the brothers and sisters living there who I interact with! sure politics are very complicated and important but it should be used for the country and not to garner hate. glad to have watched the videos! they taught me not to blindly believe anything, not even blindly believe you guys :) I will go and see everything for myself!
This Indian guy went to China a few months ago and made a serious videos about it (Start here ua-cam.com/video/kYpeA_kVcI8/v-deo.html). His video changed hundred thousands Indians' view about China. Chinese government and media never demonizes India the way India does to China. Chinese people are very friendly towards Indian.
I recommend you check out "The wandering maniac" who is an Indian traveling around China. He had visited Tibet last week or so and is currently in Xinjiang now.
I took Mandarin in high school all 4 years (even though it was 3 1/2) and from my teachers I learned that China isn't bad. The media paints the country negatively, specially in the US because their form of government is different from ours. Yet the government is slowly changing. It won't be democratic anytime soon, but its evolving. It's a wonderful country with so many nice people and they love strangers. Specially tourist according to one of my teachers. Just as long as you don't mention the "Three T's" (Tibet, Taiwan, Tiananmen), typically you are good to go. Once you bring up any at all mention of those three, you better start running.
I don't know why you were so hesitant about China. You'll find most Eastern and Middle Eastern cultures revolve around family, food and getting together. The most friendly, warm and open hearted people ever!!
It's incredible to see the amazing friendly Chinese citizens!! I used to live in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai. No matter where I was in China, the Chinese people will always give me the warmest welcome. They are so different from those described by western medias. Therefore, the most important thing is to interact and communicate with the local people instead of just browsing the Internet. All in all, TALK TO STRANGERS!!
Amazing Video you guys've made. Als a Chinese living abroad I almost forgot how welcoming and hospitable my hometown is. I watched it with tears full of my face.
I was actually stuck in Tianjin without a hotel for the New Year holiday, and a local - not speaking any English manage to bunk me for a week with himself and his elderly mother. Most of the local Chinese people are very nice - its just that you need to come to China and communicate with them
It is amazing to see your incredible stories from China and the amazing people you have met everywhere you've gone! I competed for the United States in the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, and although we couldn't explore outside of the Paralympic Village because of Covid, every single person I met was so kind and friendly. The bus drivers and staff who helped us where all amazing people and so much fun to talk to! The assigned Chinese assistants for Team USA were all incredible and I still keep in touch with them today! On one of my final days in the village I asked one of the staff in the dining hall if I could have one of the posters on the wall that I loved and before I knew it there were six different people helping to make sure I would be able to get the poster back to the US safely without ripping it. I can't wait to go back and experience more of the country and the incredible people there. Thank you for always helping to show that no matter where we are from we are all human and we all have the capacity and thirst for love and connection.
You are very welcome back to China again! The covid time is over and you can travel freely in China now without any restriction. You can find just like this video, it's not only person in the Olympic park are nice and friendly, almost everyone you will meet in China is nice and friendly if you have an open heart.
BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! This gorgeous series has changed many minds on what they can expect in China. What beautiful and friendly people. Your beautiful content series on China should receive an Award. I would love to see if you could turn your content from China into a documentary special for Netflix?! It would be great to have as many people as possible view to see China in such a positive light.
In these last episodes with Matt, I have such mixed feelings. Knowing that Matt's part will soon be over, having already got my hands on his book, and seeing him along Thomas and Derin, it really makes me feel like an actual loss in my life. You guys have been such a big part of my life. In some of the hardest years in my life, I had your company on my side. Finding comfort and making dreams while watching you. Finally wearing some Seek Discomfort t-shirts for the past three months, without feeling shy of the message. Thank you for everything.
These videos are like a 20 minute session of being liberated from the repetitiveness of my everyday day and they make me more motivated than ever and I just want to say thank you

I have lived in China for over a decade, and man, everything about China blew my mind! I have found the love of my life and made many friends for life. Chinese people are so friendly and supportive; they always try their best to ensure you have a good time while you stay there. For example, Chengdu is my favorite place in China. I hope that one day, I will go back and do something similar. ❤
@frankh.6122 Hi! Thanks . You know, after living there for years, sometimes I mistakenly speak Chinese in the States or open my WeChat QR code to pay, lol. I almost got used to my Chinese life. I'm aiming to go back to Chengdu by the end of 2024.

@@birianination7097 Without this current government, the people will mostly be poor, illiterate, bandits everywhere outside cities and American bases everywhere mistreating the locals and sexually harassing Chinese women. I am so glad I found this channel. Even talking to people I already know is hard, talkless of talking to strangers. one of my goals this year is to leave my comfort zone and battle my social anxiety. i hope I can do it.
Its really sad to see what most people think of China. But if you visit in person, you can see how developed and clean it is, and the people are very friendly
it's so interesting because 20 years ago everyone thought really highly of China and their economic development. Westerners were teaching their kids Mandarin as a second language on the off chance they'll need it in the future. But the second China started becoming an economic threat and the US/China political relationship started getting bad, the mass opinion did a 180. We'd like to believe that propaganda doesn't work on us, but we're seeing it real time
It's amazing how a single narrative in media can define a whole country. It's always inspiring to see that our friends from the other side of the world aren't all that different from us after all. Thanks for this video, it's a great reminder of the humanity at the core of everyone :)
The western media is actually 400 journalists in CIA's pocket, a $50M annual budget for it. A former agent confirmed it, said it's the lowest cost to run a cold war.
It's truly sad how media turns us all against one another, we all are humans and we all are the same no matter what we look like and where we come from. I hope one day the world's people will realize this and we can all become closer.
@@Kaspar.C0LD I suppose that's what I was trying to point out with my comment: the conflation of "this country or this political side is bad, so therefore all the people who are a part of it or believe in it are bad." Definitely agree with all your points: it's always better to see the humanity and genuinely understand where people are coming from. We need more people like you in this world I guess :P
@Kaspar.C0LD U.S say that Chinese people hate their government. It's the opposite at 95% approval. The Chinese people are this happy and friendly because their government created a country that allows for it. With near zero crime, they don't distrust anybody, like this video proved
The Chinese people and government are the biggest victims of Western mainstream media. Unlike the USA and its Allies, Russia and even India, China is the only major world power that has not had a military conflict with another country in nearly 50 years, yet Western governments and mainstream media have led many people to believe that China is the biggest threat to world peace.

Hey guys, new subscriber here, I went back and checked some of your older videos and got to know you guys a little bit better. I think this China series is the perfect way to say goodbye to Matt, going to a country seemingly cold and dangerous (mostly portrayed by western media) and instead meeting some of the most trusting and friendly people in the world, it just shows the importance of keeping an open mind and going out of your comfort zone to explore a different country/culture and communicate with strangers. Every episode is filled with love, kindness, compassion, & vulnerability. You guys truly show the purest form of humanity and at the end of every video there’s 1 thing I feel & its love.
Best of luck Matt in all your future adventures!! Thank you so much for being a part of bringing Yes Theory to the world, this channel is such a wholesome place which always warms my heart and makes me smile even when things are tough - you've made the world a better place to be

"some great, happy, relaxed humanity in a country that, most certainly, needs this!" What is this load of nonsense? This China series is my favorite! I used to live in China and this is the most accurate representation of the kindness of the locals:) it’s so hard to explain to people who have never been here because they can’t see past the media but I never experienced anything besides the kindness showed in these videos!
As someone who is Chinese, it’s so nice seeing how welcoming everyone is and how this has put a positive view for many about China. Thank you for making amazing content like this

I lived in US for couple years about 10 years ago, back then most people just don’t care or don’t have anything to say about China. Nowadays the hatred and disgust towards China seems to be widespread … maybe due to the pandemic and propaganda? It’s just sad what politicians would do to bully one country 🤷🏻♀️

when I was a child, I really wanted to visit china, I thought the culture, food and history was really interesting, I especially wanted to visit the great wall!

PRC's policies suck ass. The people have always been great. Same with Iran government vs Iranian people.

@anglohan5428 u pathetic...
it's so interesting because 20 years ago everyone thought really highly of China and their economic development.

The western media is actually 400 journalists in CIA's pocket, a $50M annual budget for it. A former agent confirmed it, said it's the lowest cost to run a cold war.

@@Kaspar.C0LD I suppose that's what I was trying to point out with my comment: the conflation of "this country or this political side is bad, so therefore all the people who are a part of it or believe in it are bad." This series is just amazing. Yep, we Chinese also like to have fun and are very friendly. There are so many fun things to do, delicious food to taste, and stunning sceneries to see, not to mention rich historical sites to visit. Hope more people be encouraged by this series and go there for their own amazing experience 🎉🎉🎉
The community you've built is the greatest thing any youtube creators have ever created! Thank you!
I visited China in 2019 and absolutely loved it! This series is making me so excited to return and get to know the Chinese people. Thanks guys for saying Yes and Talking to strangers
I cried thru the whole party. This is just too wonderful! You've changed lives, not just at the party but around the world. Regards from Indiana!
he is the perfect example that u don't have to own a big house but a big heart to be happy and keep everyone around u happy. ❤️
Happy tears watching this. The world needs more of this. Thank you guys. Thank you Alan. Thank you all. Amazing.
Made me smile seeing so many strangers coming together just to have good vibes.
I wish all the best to Matt and hope he will be able to come back in the future ☺
What an amazing human being Alan is. His children are blessed to have him as their father!
The facial expressions during the magician segment was so funny 😂😂
So sweet comments Emily and you know how it warms a dad! Love to you
@yuanallen-er2tw omg are you Allen?!?! 😀
@@emilymangiaracina54 He is, the legend himself
Best regards all the way from Shanghai Emily!@@emilymangiaracina54
Everytime I see the relationships you guys build in videos it makes me tear up. I’ve been watching the channel since I was 16 and now I’m close to graduating college. It’s so heartwarming seeing Matt in the channel again because watching all of you guys together always brings me such joy. I thank all of you for posting videos when I was going through hard times and needed to watch something to fill my mind with positive thoughts to take down the negative ones. I thank you guys for making a channel that was a huge asset of me getting over my social anxiety after covid. This channel leaves bigger impacts on people than I know every part of the Yes Theory team realizes. Thankyou Thomas, Ammar, and Matt. I will be forever grateful.
just can't help crying. love you guys
Matt, I cried tears along with you. We love you. You are so important to your global mission. Please don't say "goodbye," but instead please come on board once or twice a year to do a video journey. I know you will be busy on your other endeavors. But you ALWAYS have the ability to jump into a video whenever you feel the urge to do so. Just come once or twice a year if that is all the time you can spare. No need to say totally goodbye. What you built is to beautiful and warm to say goodbye too. We need you!
Let it never be goodbye, only see you later.
It's mindblowing to me how every single episode conveys the spirit of yes theory to the fullest. It feels so good to be reminded of this message on a regular bases because unfortunately, it can fade away in our day to day life from time to time. Amazing job by the whole china crew, mad respect for Matt allowing the community to have a special perspective on this even more special story. Thanks to the whole editing team that makes this such a joy to watch week in week out. Can't wait for Ammar to be back so the family is back together, love u guys!
one of the best yes theory videos i've seen. I remember the early days, and I feel like part of me grew up with all of you. This is the side of humanity that more people need to see.
Ive been watching you guys for a long time. I have social anxiety and struggle to even talk to strangers let alone people i know. Your videos make me feel like im a part of a community.
Matts genuine emotion is so inspiring. And very proud of him for writing his boon. Definitely going to purchase it.
Keep doing what youre doing guys. You guys bring so much good to the world and your audience.
I'm not Not surprised at all. I've been to china 5 times for work and would often travel solo every week. I went to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Humen and Beijing all on the bullet train. I had an incredible time and met some of the best people ever. This is without speaking a lick of mandarin btw..Absolutely blown away by the infrastructure, safety, food and public transportation, coming from the US. I'd move in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
I absolutely love this video and it blessed me so much. Especially living in America, china is depicted in such a different light. It seriously warmed my heart so so much to see how beautiful and kind and loving the Chinese people and their culture is. Like Matt said, yes theory truly is a love story. Every episode is filled with love, kindness, compassion, & vulnerability. You guys truly show the purest form of humanity and at the end of every video there’s 1 thing I feel & its love.
Hope you have a chance to visit China. We welcome friends from all over the world. Love from China ❤
whenever I'm in a crowded space, I feel like the quiet elephant in the room but seeing these people connecting so quickly makes me so happy
Best of luck Matt in all your future adventures!! Thank you so much for being a part of bringing Yes Theory to the world, this channel is such a wholesome place which always warms my heart and makes me smile even when things are tough - you've made the world a better place to be
This is huge! Great Allen! You guys have changed my perspective on china! Exactly what I wanted to find: some great, happy, relaxed humanity in a country that, most certainly, needs this! So grateful ❤❤❤
lol you sounded like Chinese wouldn't have any party if these guys didn't show up.
"some great, happy, relaxed humanity in a country that, most certainly, needs this!"
What is this load of nonsense? Chinese people has been happy and relaxed in our communal sharing way of life in most of the last 5,000 years or so.
It is you in the West who's been missing out and certainly need more happiness in your life.
Credits to the YT team! Bridging people and erasing misunderstandings! Love to you Cristina! from THE Allen
This was so beautiful, Matt we’re so glad you decided to come back for this part of the Yes theory journey and for starting this whole channel, none of it would be possible without you and everyone is so proud of you for what you’ve accomplished. All of you did an incredible job at hosting this party and opening the eyes of everyone around the world to see the good and humanity in everyone❤️
I used to watch this channel regularly when it first started, but can you tell me why Matt left YesTheory? I’m so lost and didn’t some of the starter people left too?
@@AlohaPandathey have a podcast and video explaining it better than I can but I think he left because UA-cam and the commitment to the channel were causing him too much anxiety and he needed to be off of social media for mental health reasons. I guess there are a lot of reasons probably but he had been part of it for ages so likely wanted to break away and start on the book.
I just ordered my copy of Talk to Strangers and then sat down to watch the video! Exceptional! I'm typing this comment with a few tears, thinking about the joyous wonder that our world is, not can be, but IS CURRENTLY. Experiences like these happen every day all across the globe, and that puts a smile on my face. So proud of Matt and the Yes Theory family! Your dedication and hard work is an inspiration to me and many of us yes theory fam. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I just love these videos. Showing peoples stories and cultures from all walks of life helps me so much to see that we are all really so similar and one big family on this earth.
Yes, one world one family, love from China ❤
As someone who were born and grew up in China, I appreciate Yes Theory so much for showing the world how open China is noway. I have lived abroad for so many years and haven't had much chance to go back often and see how much my home country has changed abruptly. Originally, I thought such challenges would be super difficult in China, but Yes Theory just showed us there are kind and open-minded people everywhere!! Thanks again for showing not only people from other countries but also Chinese like myself the kindness and hospitality of Chinese!! ❤
I really love china, lived three years there, people are very kind and giving. Chinese people have the purest soul,
Goodluck with your new book matt
@@Elom643 you do not need to agree, bet you come from a country where there is rape, violence and crime everyday
haha what a miserable comment @@Elom643
this is so heartwarming!! a side of China we don't get to see in mainstream media
