  • Protestant brothers and sisters, what if when Christ called us to eat His flesh and drink His blood He didn't mean it symbolically? What if He was speaking literally? And what if the way the consume His Body, Blood, Soul and Devinity is the the Eucharist consecrated and offered daily in the Catholic Church?
This short video isn't a defence of the Catholic belief of the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, but a simple request to consider, what if He is?
With love and humility I would direct you to the following article for a better defense than I could make:
    www.catholic.c...
And I offer you all the following scripture to contemplate:
    John 6:51-69:
"I am the living bread which
    came down from heaven; if
any one eats of this bread, he
will live for ever; and the bread
which I shall give for the life of
    the world is my flesh.
    The Jews then disputed among
    themselves, saying, "How can
this man give us his flesh to
eat?" So Jesus said to them,
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless
you eat the flesh of the Son of
man and drink his blood, you
have no life in you; he who eats
my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life, and I will raise
him up at the last day. For my
flesh is food indeed, and my
blood is drink indeed. He who
eats my flesh and drinks my
blood abides in me, and I in him
As the living Father sent me,
and I live because of the Father
so he who eats me will live
because of me. This is the
    bread which came down from
heaven, not such as the fathers
ate and died; he who eats this
bread will live for ever. This he
said in the synagogue, as he
    taught at Caper'na-um."
    "Many of his disciples, when
they heard it, said, "This is a
    hard saying; who can listen
    to it?"" But Jesus, knowing
    in himself that his disciples
murmured at it, said to them
"Do you take offense at this?
Then what if you were to see the
Son of man ascending where he
was before? It is the Spirit that
    gives life, the flesh is of no avail;
the words that I have spoken to
you are Spirit and life. But there
are some of you that do not
    believe." For Jesus knew from
the first who those were that did
not believe, and who it was that
would betray him. And he said,
"This is why I told you that no
one can come to me unless it is
granted him by the Father." After
this many of his disciples drew
back and no longer walked with
him. Jesus said to the Twelve,
"Will you also go away?" Simon
    Peter answered him, "Lord, to
whom shall we go? You have the
words of eternal life: and we
have believed, and have come to
know, that you are the Holy One of God."

    .
It is out of love and appreciation for my brothers and sisters in Christ that I invite you to consider, pray, and research - from what the early Chuch believed, to the Early Church Father's, to the entirety of Christian history until the 16th century - the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and then, if you find the argument compelling, continue wherever that leads you. May God bless all who read this.

TRUTH TRUTH TRUTH!!! Great video, cuz!! John 6 is INDEED what people need to read and meditate on!!
    Also, look at Jeremiah 31:31-34
    And look at Malachi 1:11
And something else to reflect on...
Dr. Scott Hahn has pointed out that the Jews at the Time of Passover offered unblemished lambs as sacrifices. What did they do with "the sacrifices?" They "ATE" them!! Jesus is The Unblemished Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world, and He has called us to "EAT The Sacrifice" ... i.e., EAT His Body and DRINK His Blood. Jesus made His Sacrifice "once for all," BUT that "SAME SACRIFICE" is "RE-PRESENTED" (note - not "REPRESENTED") to The Father at Masses said all over the world each and every day!! Jesus is not Crucified again at each Mass. But The Sacrifice Jesus made at Calvary is "RE-PRESENTED" to The Father (refer back to the verses mentioned in Jeremiah and Malachi).

Amen brother, I know of John 6, however if I may, please read just a few verses forward and you'll see that what the Lord talks about is of the spirit. Flesh profits nothing. We also eat the communion as a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice, not as a re presenting of his literal flesh and blood.

I would suggest to you that you re-read "ALL" of John 6 and ask The Holy Spirit to help you see what The Early Church believed, and what The Early Church Fathers taught regarding The Holy Eucharist.
Please, pay special attention to the "murmuring" among Jesus' Disciples, as they regarded Jesus' Words as a "hard saying." They understood EXACTLY what He was saying; they KNEW He was talking about eating His ACTUAL Body and drinking His ACTUAL Blood; that's why they "murmured;" many of His Disciples stopped walking with Him after this; they couldn't handle His literal meaning in what He was saying; Jesus didn't stop them and say, "No, no, wait, wait; you don't understand; don't go; don't walk away; here's what I ACTUALLY meant." No, He let them walk away because He meant EXACTLY what He said ("For My Flesh is True Food, and My Blood is True Drink").
I will also ask you if you take Jesus at His Word at The Last Supper when He said, "Take this and EAT it; this is My Body;" and when He said, "Take this and drink of it; this is My Blood" (paraphrasing). At The Last Supper, was Jesus offering His Apostles His ACTUAL Body and Blood (His Words; also, go back to John 6). If you believe it to be His ACTUAL Body and Blood ... at The Last Supper, then you have to ask yourself WHAT="THIS" when Jesus told them, "As often as you do "THIS," do it in remembrance of Me. WHAT="THIS???" DO "THIS;" what had He just done?
Refer to a comment I made earlier today, and visit the verses mentioned in Jeremiah and Malachi.
