Nice to have a dock that runs the full length of the boat. That has to make life easier at that Marina.

Larry Belt agreed. And when you have pilings in between each slip it’s a bonus! Thx for watching!

Question. Is is customary to tip deck hands?

Steve Farmer if you meant dock hands as in those who work in the marina? Then yes. It is customary though not consistently done. We believe in having a bunch of $5 bills available while you are cruising. Tip $5 for a pump out and $5 for your marina dock hand. Minimally. On some occasions- staying past the closing time to help, managing lines AND power cord AND trash or expert assistance when docking in extreme weather- the dock hand(s) earn far more than a $5 tip. Alyse worked one summer in Baltimore at a fuel dock and another time in a Florida marina. In both places tips were inconsistent and had nothing to do with the size of the boat...nor the service rendered. And if you stay annually at one location you may consider end of year tips too.

As Captain Chris said, yes it is customary, I usually tip $5 to $10.
