  • Jazz and the melodic minor scale. This sound is pretty basic to a more modern jazz sound, and here I just talk about some famous applications.
    NOTE: You need to shed this in all possible keys. It will take time, but it’s really important.

    I love this, in jazz we use the ascending melodic minor,
    in classical we use regular ascending and descending melodic scale.

      You are exactly right! The jazz use of melodic minor unlocks all sorts of modern sound ideas. Not just jazz…also in orchestral works by 20th century composers such as Heitor Villa-Lobos, and others. The MM scale is big.
