Classical chords make this theme emotional: the jazz parts in the original are to distract us from that intensity, to leave the narrative unfinished. In Leiki’s arrangement, there is the sense of increasing passion: starting out with longing and hints of sorrow, the theme evolves and changes keys. Demanding, majestic, all-consuming love for that one person overpowering our body (from the 2:19 climax), and then mournful, elegant resignation at the end. This arrangement completes the simple melody of Mia and Sebastian’s love theme we hear in certain scenes for a few seconds. Rather than serve as a callback to Mia or Sebastian for a few seconds, this arrangement works as a monologue, a statement, a story.
That's what Epilogue is for, and dont you dare say jazz can't be emotional/tell a story. Not to mention this "classical arrangement" resuses a lot of the original jazz elements. The original of Mia and Sebastian's theme does exactly what it needs to and I've never heard any other arrangement do it better; they all do something else. Keep in mind I think this one is incredible, but you can't say it tells a story any better than Justin Hurwitz's arrangement between M&S theme and Epilogue. Jazz IS intensity. Nothing about jazz LACKS intensity, that's absurd.
As said before, I have no experience in instrumental knowledge, at most, my appreciation is that of an infant. But I do believe, fresh eyes sees it better. There is something very special about this one, " it didn't give me a space for any other thought, so it must be zen."
as much as I love the original version, I always find the jazz too overpowering and it completely changes the romance of the motif - this composition is absolutely beautiful, and exactly how I imagined it without the jazz ending, thank you so much for this!!!

I wrote a comment couple of weeks ago and i talked about not playing the piano for couple of years now and how much i loved this masterpiece. Well, i am back again to tell you that i bought your music notes today and i gave myself a year to learn how to play this song. It will be a long journey but all i want is to play this piece just like you did ❤️

I need to go back to piano, i need to feel this type of love when i am touching the keys. Thank you 💙
