Yeah, I don't think the CPL was adjusted correctly. Did you adjust it with a white object on the dashboard to reflect off the windshield? Easy to adjust that way. In any case, I don't think the CPL hindered the night performance too much.
I'm so confused! The 470+ has the polarizer lens on it but has twice the reflected and glaring interference... Are you sure you had the filter set properly? If so, the reflections and harsh glaring should have been much less than the 470. And the 470 has a much deeper color saturation. It's like the 470 had the polarizer and the 470+ didn't...
I just bought one of these for 20 bucks at a flea market, but I know what to look for because this is my 4th DOD dashcam, they work well. I don't want the GPS, because if I get in a crash and I'm going even ONE KM over the speed limit, I can't make a claim .. I was breaking the law when I was hit, is what the lawyer said would happen .. so didconnect the GPS
Couple quick things... 1st, love the car. 2nd, you have your video labels backwards. The LS470+ is on the right, but you have it labeled in the actual recording as the regular 470. You can tell the 470+ is on the right side of the video due to the polarized lens making the glare much less noticeable. Thanks for the video.
thank you mate, no actually those model # stamps are from the camera itself and not an editing trick. feed is correct, the videos were on two different memory cards and placed out of order in picture in picture. hope this helps, cheers !
You do know that you need to rotate the cpl filter on the 470+ to match the orientation in the car.. also you can just screw it off if you don't want it on. it is obvious you didn't have it oriented correctly while recording, since you have window reflections(something the cpl filter will remove if set correctly, also setting it is a one time thing)
Nice comparison - well done. My only comment - jeez are you nice to the corvette - I live in a country using KM/hour (Australia - so anything not with a 1 and two following digits is a pain) and boy would I have an itchy accelerator foot!!! (I know = 65 years old and still have not grown up!). Nice job Nudge, Brisbane - Australia
thank you, :D , aussie's love the muscle cars, I visited Melbourne few years back, loved it. I drive with a heavy foot normally, just for the video's sake taking it easy.
470W colours look a lot better saturated. The 470W+ looks a tad washed out compared to the 470W. Night shots look brighter on the 470W. Do they use the same aperture?
Hi, I am interesteind in buying the LS470W+, can you tell me when you view the video files on the device directly, does it show the speed (MPH) information? I want to have this feasture in case if I get pulled-over for speeding, and I have some evidence to show. thanks.
yes you can view the files, videos and pictures both on the device and even playback. and GPS enables you to turn on speed stamp which you can display in mph and kmh, hope this helps. cheers
the plus imodel s like 60 dollars more, has a bigger battery, bigger lcd and a polarized filter to reduce glare which apparently didn't get the results i was looking for so i settled with the 470w
as far as i know, it's just a GPS stamp and that you cannot track it remotely. i have on-star for that so i never bothered looking into it. check their website to be sure.

Great comparison. Simple conclusion.. go with whatever costs less!

You need to rotate the polarising filter to eliminate the horizontal light waves reflecting off the windscreen

and i kept the 470w because the picture quality was much better without the CPL filter
Shoot, thats confusing that the CPL filer had more glare than the regular 470w. Good to know though! Thanks for the quick reply.
sure no problem and sorry about the confusion, good luck !

I just bought DOD 470W, very happy with the quality!

well good job - I am truly envious !!
@ 4:42 which time and date is correct, they should both be the same from the satellites, what gives?
time isn't synched by sat, it is manually entered
DJ Aladdin
Mine is from the satellites no user input required!
also the 475w has a bigger card slot and 60fps and radar tracker

I am pretty sure its the angle that he put the + on.

Yep, the standard LS470W looked better. So did you consider any other brands?
i had the sony action cam in the past, I also tried thinkware f750 and f550 but their night quality wasn't good as the ls470w
Thank you
+voloviky you're very welcome
thanks man
so... what's the difference between the two?
the plus imodel s like 60 dollars more, has a bigger battery, bigger lcd and a polarized filter to reduce glare which apparently didn't get the results i was looking for so i settled with the 470w
Thanks :)
cheers
Can you remove the polarized filter on the + model or it's impossible?
polarized has a bigger screen for view, larger battery, and can take a larger sd card, I didn't like the quality compared to the normal 470w
Hello, I would like to know the DOD LS470W, if the GPS you have, I can do my vehicle tracking remotely?
Greetings.
as far as i know, it's just a GPS stamp and that you cannot track it remotely. i have on-star for that so i never bothered looking into it. check their website to be sure.
Ok perfect
someone needs to learn heal toe
