The real hero here are the Metcons. I had a pair of metcon 2s , that outside of cougar paws had the best traction on the roof of amy shoe I've ever worn.

How long do they last though. I'm a full time roofer and I can't get shoes to last more than a month, 2 months if I'm very lucky
I'd never buy a pair of cougar paws here in the Northwest where it rains your feet would be wet within the hour once again a good pair of xtratuf boots you'll be safe on the roof and dry from the Northwest where it rains
@@thomasjohnson3793 I do a lot of repairs on the PNW and i have wondered about the durability of those xtratuf boots? No normal waterproof work boot can stand the abrasion of roofing materials.
@@812CHAVEZ I wear them everyday I'm a sixty-year-old roofer just finishing 8 and 9/12 pitch roof couch cushions and rubber boots they hold up very well better than any rain gear put them on a boot dryer every night you got dry feet warm for the next day worth $109 in the summertime I use Bristol Bay shoes therefore crabbing on crab boats they're nice looking shoe and they will hang on to for roofing

I always wear the 8" steel-toe Barracuda boot by Georgia Boot. Good grip during tear-offs, and smooth soles don't scar shingles. I have worn out 5 pairs over the last 10 years. Never "broke" a pair.
Love the roof snake and clawverine, not putting on tool belt without ajc maghatch.

I just got a complaint about gutter damage today. I need to get the gutter guards. Also I’m going to check out those shoes.
I have never done damage to gutters, but always careful. As my ladders are stable they won't move. But I only use bungie cord to secure my ladder.

From the Great Northwest public Duck Blind I have roof from Maui Hawaii to Moab Utah the best tool that you could have in Your Arsenal your attitude attitude is everything on a roof the whole neighborhood hears you what you say and see what you do so attitude number one tool just a thought from the northwest where it rains

I was going to get the cougar paws but after the insight here I use nikes. Although I am a washer and I go threw shoes!

Well this saying is already taken Buy rooferscoffeeshop I thought it was a good one do I have a sticker on my trailer it show a roofer and the sticker says next time you see a roofer look up at them believe me roofers are much second class and we should not be for we do the work that a lot of people would not do recover your homes with very little respect so respect your roofers God bless from the northwest where it rains
