I'm with you on the big bags situation. I just spent 3 weeks travelling Japan with a 40L backpack. Japanese hotels almost always have access to laundry, which made it pretty easy to do. On the last day, I purchased a suitcase and did my shopping and filled the suitcase. Realise that's not going to be for everyone, but it was a really enjoyable way to travel without having to worry about lugging a massive suitcase everywhere.
Quite often what I think happens is that people have heard so much about Japan over the last 75 years (3 - 4 generations) and how polite and welcoming its people are to foreigners, that it goes to their heads that Japan is more of an island-scaled amusement park, built to cater to their whims than it is a nation that has existed as such since the times of Egypt erecting the great pyramids. And so they come with all of their ingrained attitudes about how to act in an amusement park, and thus they don't do any study on the mores and customs of the nation that they wish to visit anymore. And then when the offence to the Japanese people reaches a critical enough point to cause a reaction, these delusional tourists often act like its all news to them; that they are, in fact, in another nation not like their own, where people are expected to abide by a different set of rules, rather that whatever passes for the rule of law in their own nations of origin. And thats really, really sad.
Influencer need views to maintain status. I would not believe they are really sorry for what they did as long as they achieve their target. And most of them still have the mindset of a teenager. Grow the F up “influencer”s.
I think social media should only be given to over 18's. They should be studying instead of doing pranks, getting half naked and doing moronic dances. It's so tedious. My kids don't use it and prefer hiking, sports and historical photography. Just sayin
Had an experience with a foreigner at an onsen. She brought her iPad with her so, she could read while bathing. She said I quote "its fine, im not taking photos anyways". I left immediately... can't deal with people like this
This is exactly why my tribe sometimes bans non-Native Americans during our religious activities on the reservation. So disrespectful!!! I'm so sorry she did that.
When I was in Japan last year, I didn't see inappropriate behavior per se, but there were lots of tourists that went beyond taking pictures to so many thinking they were all Instagram stars. I was embarrassed being a Westerner just seeing them.
It's unfortunately way more common than it should. Obviously most people don't think this way, but I've seen both American and Australian tourists who demand English and verbally insult people who don't understand them. They're a minority of tourists but gives a terrible impression to anyone who has to come in contact with them.
Hmmm...I don't really agree with the transportation usage. I mean if tourists travel with the Shinkansen, they should put their lugagges above them on the Luggage shelf, not between their knees. (I agree with that). But I am using the Shinkansen here in Japan many times for business trips and I see many japanese people, especially women, sitting in a 2-seat row and putting their bags on the empty seat besides them. And even if new passengers are coming and the Shinkansen are getting crowded, they don't remove their bags from the seat.
If you search 温水洗浄便座、拭いてから使う? 使ってから拭く? 業界団体に聞く, not wiping after using a washlet is completely normal, that’s the point of the drying function, but of course you can wipe if you want as well.
4:50 I was thinking the comment about being punished is also how Japanese would say god would punish you or how you would have bad things happen to you because you did something bad. Perhaps I’m just inferring too much.
Shinto the god(s) is the earth so that structure is reachable.a big stone church is trying to reach the sky for the God up there. doubt it is possible to hang from it but i wouldn't challenge somebody to do that..
This particular lady has NO SINCERE apology AT ALL. Why apology at all if she doesn’t even mean a thing she had said and done.

Some of these influencer's want attention sooo badly. Now, she got it.

21:45 I can never understand the frustration of people not speaking English. Why do people get upset? Do they expect everyone to speak English?

Thank you for all you have done
That is NOT an egret. It’s a Blue Heron. The other bird is a Cormorant.
Aosagi in Japanese. I don’t know the English. Thanks.

Unfortunately, not everyone is educated. I feel sorry for her parents.

If you take a dump, use the toilet paper and clean your bottom before you wash it. No one wants 💩 flying around in the spray 🤢

That's not exactly how Shintoism works.... 😓😓😓
Japan needs to stop taking itself to seriously and get a grip on the real world!!!
Dad yo know she Is from Chile. Don't like them at all
