I love how they ask her about her experience with bronzers before getting into the tutorial. It showcases that fenty really cares about their audience and that we aren’t reduced down to a number or a customer they can take money from. They acknowledge that we’re real people!
Thank you for this! I am not a mua and my makeup is self taught so im guilty (even today) for using the bronzer as a contour. Now i need some advice, do i use bronzer, blush, then highlight? Or is the bronzer in lieu of the blush
@@mychelsmith1491 bronzer is used instead of contour when you want to add warmth instead of shadow. However, it's still supposed to be a shade or two darker than you to add dimension and make you look tanned or bronzed.
@@mychelsmith1491 I have the same dilema, in these tutorials they apply bronzer on the cheeks where I normally apply blush. I usually contour, blush then highlight but want to learn how to use bronzer correctly now that Summer is coming up.
Mariel Hinojosa and Mychel Smith you can do the bronzer / blush / highlight combo. So bronzer on the longer stroke of your cheeks then blush at the apples of your cheek (where you smile) then highlight at the high points of your cheek bones. You can also put bronzer at your temples where you would normally contour if you want, then add a sweep of highlight on top of our just below where you applied the bronzer

Shako Tshionga I watched Nyma’s review of the Bronzer and I agreed with what she said about loving Fenty, but that they needed to make it a bit deeper for people with her complexion and the model in this video because as Nyma said, it looks more like a blush than a bronzer and I feel like this video proves her point as well. That being said, I can’t wait to try out the Bronzer for myself...I forget the name, but I will most likely buy the 3rd bronzer from the deepest shade.
Her skin is so flawless that you can barely see the difference between her face with make up and without.
But that's the point, to not look made up, but just a better version of yourself 😊

This lady looks really flawless and that is what makeup is made to do not change someone into someone else. I feel sorry for guys who cannot recognize their brides on their wedding days because they are completely transformed. I hear so many complaints about that

Katrina Atkins you’re correct! Bronzer is applied on the bone because that’s where the sun would hit naturally, where as contour is just underneath the bone to actually shape/shadow the face and create bone structure (be that smaller or bigger)!
I love fenty and I'm Nyakim's complexion, and I'm sorry but this product is disappointing like honestly it needs to go darker, cause in store there was no visible difference and didn't even give that warmth effect that it claims to do
It'll still need to be a dark reddish undertone because a shade deeper than her skintone for bronzing will look like a bruise because it doesn't go in the same areas as a contour shade
@@Jadasan Yeah, you don't want it looking like ashiness or hyperpigmentation. I think if they went one darker and kept that reddish-terracotta tone it would be perfect.
duhitzblessing agree. I look at the shade range and that bronzer wouldn’t suit darker skin complexion. I think Rihanna could have gone darker while adding the red tone. I have seen the darkest bronzer used on someone with the shade as the model and it had bronzer affect.

I love that Fenty came out with deeper bronzer shades than anyone else on the market, but this just does not give the same affect as lighter skin tones. It looks like you put a blush on her that's nearly the same color as her foundation. The model is so beautiful! She deserves to have a bronzer that gives the same affect as all the other skin tones.
I love how Fenty actually educates on how to use makeup. I've already seen some "beauty influencers" use these bronzers as contour. I've also heard some of these same "beauty gurus" say there are no bronzers for deep dark skintones. Well they say that because they don't actually know what bronzers are for. Mocha Mami is fit for the deepest dark skintones as this demo shows.

Beauty influencers tend not to be qualified makeup artists (their are exceptions of course) and tend to wear makeup that's intended for drag so I'm not too sure that they make the best educators when it comes to makeup.
Lol bronzer is supposed to add definition and warmth to your face. Makeup artists have been using bronzers that are darker than people's skin for decades, unless they're deep of course. Just because Fenty Beauty says that a bronzer is supposed to be used like a blush doesn't mean that's actually true. Blush is used to only add color or warmth not bronzer. Bronzer is supposed to make you look tanned or bronzed.

Yes! I love how he explained the use of bronzer. Yes makeup has no rules but contour and bronzer tend to get confused often. And the warmth and glow this brought to his skin was stunning. I can’t wait to get my hand on some of these bronzers

@@ellebaby825 As Hector said, the bronzer gives a healthy glow to the skin. White people tan because it makes them look healthier. Same with bodybuilders.Tanned skin helps to define/showcase features of the body. Like contouring does. Bronzer isn't used to "darken you up" or add color to a too light foundation. It's there to accentuate your skin tone in such a way that mimics the sun's healthy exposure to it. It makes you look healthy, refreshed, and youthful. Just like a person would look fresh from vacation who is also happy and takes care of themselves.

@@nykka3 True. But that's because that's what they're actually using it for. Doesn't mean that's what the product is meant for. Remember, "Blackfishing" is actually a thing. And you can essentially contour with any shade, from practically any product, darker than your natural shade. They're just doing what they've always done and calling it right because it feels right. Like a person who peeled potatoes with a knife all their lives and has now been given a potato peeler and doesn't quite know how to work it because it feels weird/different.

I love this product, I bought it and did a review on it but I honestly don’t think this is dark enough for the model, it works nicely as a blush but it doesn’t give the same effect that bronzer gives on white people or lighter complexions

I bought Mocha Mami and I think it works for me (430) but it definitely does not work for her or for Nyma Tang. Let's be honest. I can barely see anything on her face at all and I understand it needs to be warm but darker than the person. I see all of the 8 bronzers that Fenty is offering and they work for lighter women but given this brand I am disappointed that there wasn't one for the deeper skin tones. Fenty you need to fix this ASAP!!!!!!

geo Just being real, I think a lot of the dark skinned youtubers have been mislead into thinking that bronzing is more of a burnish look. I noticed lot of deep complexioned women lean towards almost plum-ish bronzers because they simply want to “see” it. Bronzer is simply meant to warm up the undertone, so the product doesn’t have to be darker than ones complexion. I think Nyma looked at the more fair models and assumed because you can “see” it more on them it should be the same on her. The look of a light person kissed by the sun vs. a dark one is going to look different. Fair people turn golden, medium people turn brown, and rich people get red.
