A tribute that was gorgeous for a singer of any age... (she turned 15 in Jan of '21)..but extraordinary for a 13 or 14 year old. She is a generational talent...can be identified by one name....simply, Angelina
I cried...it reminded me of my grandparents who basically raised me through childhood. And how I felt when each passed away. I totally understand how she felt.
That was an angel on earth sharing a sad and personal moment with her family of fans/angels. I don't know of very many vocalists that share their vulnerability and grief like this. Thanks for sharing and your sharing and paying your respects to our grief stricken 'angel' !!!
I honestly believe that Angelina is an Angel, sent to us, during the most difficult times in our lives, to bring us love, inspiration, compassion, & hope for a brighter future ❤️💙 How can we not believe in something greater than us, when we hear her voice ❤️💙 ****Loved your reaction**** ❤️💙
Thanks for a great reaction. I'm glad you saw it for the emotional tribute that it was and pulled back on the rating. Angelina is an absolute master of the use of dynamics in a song to portray emotions and story. I've never heard anyone better at varying the dynamics in a performance. "Wise beyond her years" is exactly right. There are very few professional singers out there that can use dynamics and inflections as effectively as Angelina.
Angelina just turned 12 when her grandfather died in 2018. She posted an amazing message on FB the day he died, being English is her third language and to write it so perfect. ( you can see it in someone else's comments). This song she did 6 days later after they got home from the funeral. Ivan and her are still wearing black. She sang this song to tell her Grandpa how much she misses and loves him. Much too young to lose someone so close. I'm with you, just want to hold and comfort her. I hate to see such a wonderful, happy, warm-hearted giving person be in so much pain. God bless you Angelina💝
After watching this, I can only say that when they lay me out to rest, I pray 🙏 that my granddaughters recall me in the manner that she has recalled hers! MAY GOD BLESS YOUR GRANDFATHER ANGELINA #RIP
Thank you, Maunalee, for a beautiful reaction. This is my first time listening to you, but your sense of respect for Angelina gave me a lot of respect for you. It's not always the technical abilities and skills that make an artist great. Many of the artists that Angelina does covers of are superstars because they are great. Angelina is unique though, she is gifted with a divine ability to sing with emotions and feelings. That's why she moves so many people and why she is growing in her audience's size. There is no question that this young lady is going to go places. Thank you again for your beautiful reaction.
Respectful reaction, Maunalee, to a heartbreaking song; she is accompanied by one of the two guitarists with whom she usually plays: Ivan Mendez and it was about her Japanese grandpa who passed away in March 2018, where the other Swedish grandad died last November, to whom she dedicated Million Miles.
@@jeffreyjameson5510 Maybe not to you....In the Always on My Mind video, the posting was just a few days after his death in March 2018. Both are wearing black having just returned from the funeral. Angelina's grandfathers' picture is on the sofa on her phone. She was very emotional as you could tell. I'm surprised you hadn't seen this before and I wouldn't 'grade' this performance either. Thanks for sharing and reacting!

Angelina puts so much emotion into her songs, this song though was raw emotion, quite sad hope she gets through this hard stage of her life! Great reaction by you,I could see that this got to you also,so take care and stay safe look forward to your next one.
Thanks for another nice reaction and great respect of you not to rate it for the reasons you gave. AJ:s voice always gets me but this moves me because you can feel her pain. Made me think of people I lost
The first time I saw her on AGT I found it weird that she is judged. You cannot judge somebody who is levels above you. She is the Mozart of singing. She is perfection. She is unjudgeable.
Heart wrenching. Beautiful. I kinda emotionally imploded at the end. We can all relate on some level... family member, friend, pet. And that is what makes Angelina so entrancing... she's extraordinarily relatable. She's real. Honest. Vulberable. Everything we all wish or strive for.
I really appreciate that you decided not to rate this one. Some things are beyond judgement. This emotional tribute from a 12 year old to her grandpa that she just lost, is not something that should be 'scored', and I like that you respected that. I agree with everything you said about how she is a master of knowing when to use just the right inflections to really pull you in. She does it every time, every song. It's a little mind boggling how she is able to do that so consistently, and in so many different ways. I personally have never seen anything like it. Always happy to have you back to some Angelina, Maunalee! :) ...and Congrats on your podcast! :)
Angelina's tribute to her paternal grandfather who passed away in 2018 when Angie was 12 years old. This is a very difficult video for us angels to watch for obvious reasons. Her maternal grandfather passed away in November 2019 and inspired Angie to write Million Miles. We hope grandma Mery, Angie's mentor, lives a very long healthy life. The guitarist is Ivan Mendez who plays for Angie when she was in Los Angeles. Egil Clausen (bobblehead) was her guitarist when she was in Norway.
she is such a happy person with a depth that many adults don't have. When I see her crying my heart breaks and I would like to hug her to tell her everything will be fine
A very emotional song. . given a very sensitive reaction. Thank you. I just about was done in when she breaks the lyrics to talk directly to her grandpa. . .
This was very shortly after her grandpa had died, and Angelina was still grieving. She is so open and vulnerable, and still allows herself to share this with her fans, or as she calls us, her "family". She's 12 here, and a little over a year later she loses her other grandfather. So Angelina has known real loss and sadness at a very young age. She felt the need to write about the second loss, and that experience brought about the creation of her latest song, "Million Miles". That are three versions of this wonderful song, and all are great. I'm glad you decided to not rate her performance, as that would have been a bit crass considering the circumstances. 💕
Yea Alan I lost my wife of 40 years I did not think I could make it I was raising 3 granddaughters at the time it was hard on them to without god I would not of made it sorry for your loss
I saw your comments so I know you already know the info you asked for. Also, Willy Nelson and Elvis sang this song. I was surprised when you didn't know Ivan, and if so that means you never reacted to "A Million Years Ago" by Adelle, I love that song and the expression on Ivan's face at how Angelina's song is affecting him. Congratulations on your podcast.
Magic 8 ball is designed to be random (luck of the draw), it is a prop that clearly connects us to Manaulee, because for those of us who have followed her from the beginning, when we see an "Magical 8-Ball" anywhere, our thoughts bring up Manaulee and her reactions. If I remember correctly she started this when she was a radio personality (which she very well could continue to be); except she wants do do what she loves from home so she is close to her family. Especially since her husband is I believe a career military guy that get deployed often. I am not a fan of her new trend of writing her thoughts while "reacting" to a song. Which makes this more a critique than a reaction. But I still enjoy watching these videos because she is one of the more honest "reactors/critics" out there. So many make a big hoopla and every singer they listen to is great, and phenomenal; which dilutes the praises for those who truly deserve them. As for the guitarist, he accompanied Angelina for her covers of Born to Die by Lana del Rey, Million years Ago from Adele and one of my favorite covers for California Dreaming by the Mammas and the Papas, which Manaulee did not rate as high because she felt she did not hit the "Big notes" she loves from Mamma Cas. He accompanied her in a couple of other songs I can remember now, but he is a classically trained guitarist from Spain.
I am split between not rating this and rating a 10 for the courage to post a video where she shows her deepest personal emotions. I have heard she had tears running down her face recording Million Miles in the studio.
Thank you for reacting to this emotional tribute by Angelina to her grandfather. This was recorded within days of his death and her courage in allowing us to see her grief is beyond words. Her eyes are full of sorrow and her body language shows she is having great difficulty in keeping her composure. That she manages to get to the end of the song before giving way to her emotions leaves me in tears. In her short life she has had to cope with the death of two grandfathers, a close friend, Avicii, who committed suicide, a family friend, Ari Behn, who also committed suicide, and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. Her way of dealing with the grief is to pay tribute to them in song. Here are links to the other tribute songs, in the order in which they were sun Aretha Franklin: Age 12 - A Natural Woman - ua-cam.com/video/rt6KhBxiaDo/v-deo.html Avicii: Age 12 - Wake Me Up - ua-cam.com/video/F5omCuTQ9S0/v-deo.html Grandfather: Lyric video - Million miles - ua-cam.com/video/NhKRh5ZtuWk/v-deo.html Grandfather: Live (Studio) - Million miles - ua-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/v-deo.html Grandfather: Music video - Million miles - ua-cam.com/video/XA1_CUaM52I/v-deo.html Ari Behn: Trampoline - ua-cam.com/video/KXqLcfzphos/v-deo.html
This was March 2018, Angelina is not long 12 years old, starting her new residence in LA - hence Ivan Mendez on guitar. I find this difficult to listen to, seeing the hurt she is feeling. That year, 2018, saw too many tribute songs from Angelina, the following month was Avici...
Happy to witness the most successful reactionalysis I've watched of yours in a good long while. Past time I think to upgrade your rating system anyway. For heaven's sake at least take poor leelu or whoever off the pit of Hell bottom. I'm sure you wouldn't encourage your daughter to repeatedly make fun of others. I haven't seen any of your child raising tips or vlog but I have seen Charlotte. She does more to convince me that you are an outstanding mother than watching you flagellate artists with your demerit system ever could. Why don't you switch at least to a merit system like letter grade at least. Love you and hope to include you more and more in my UA-cam excursions. ✌️😎👍
This song is dedicated to her paternal grandpa that passed away in March 2018. On Facebook she wrote, "“Our family lost a treasure today, my grandfather passed away. He was very close to me and have always supported me in everything I did. He always made me smile, laugh and gave me great life lessons. He was a man who got respect from all over the town, always helped people in need, he was the definition of a true gentleman and generous man with a big heart." Angelina is 12 here. Unfortunately she also lost her maternal grandpa in November 2019 and dedicated her original "Million Miles" to him. Angelina has experienced great loss at a very young age, losing close relatives and friends. How she was able to even come close to finishing this song is beyond me. It's very emotional, as is obvious. BTW, the guitarist is Ivan Mendez, who has accompanied her in California for a number of her acoustic covers. Thanks for the reaction
im not a fan of the song but angelina made it very personal to her, and its wonderful when an artist shares their emotions with us, i hope in the future theres jazz soul dance songs she makes that are original, no pop music though that doesnt tell me anything, you only have to look at the overated pop singers of today they are aweful
Hi Maunalee AJ has a new song coming out Friday called 7th Heaven just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't heard, also if you get the time could you do her version of "You make me feel so Young" with an added touch could you dress retro for it. Come on it would be FUN!!!
Hi Darlin, could you react to CAM "TILL THERES NOTHING LEFT" video a must, Vince Gill "WHEN LOVE FINDS YOU" video, Blaine Roy "PAPER AND PEN" bring tissues, Jack Ingram "LOVE YOU" video funny, HARDY "UNAPOLOGETICALLY COUNTRY AS HELL" Randy Houser "LEAD ME HOME" Best voice out there, Dillon Carmichael "SAWING WOOD" TY for honest reactions
just to add more info. Ivan and Angelina work together to produce some of her best cover works: Adele's Million Years Ago, Rihanna's Stay, Mama and Papas' California Dreaming, Marshmello ft. Bastille's Happier. Her cover of Rihanna's Stay is my most favorite.
Good choice not to try to rate this one. Yes, she was a little off in a couple of spots and if you listen, she kind of mangled the lyrics at the end. The thing that impresses me is that she had to know that and posted it anyway. That take some courage. I see others have filled you in on Ivan, but so far no one has mentioned that he's a talented singer as well an has his own UA-cam channel at ua-cam.com/users/iv4nl1v3z Thanks for the reaction.

If you look between them, her phone is showing a picture of Angelina's grandfather. She can hardly make it through the song.
Mr. 8-ball doesn’t seem on target most of the time with Angelina. Maybe a Ouija board? Lol. 🤪
im not a fan of the song but angelina made it very personal to her, and its wonderful when an artist shares their emotions with us, i hope in the future theres jazz soul dance songs she makes that are original, no pop music though that doesnt tell me anything, you only have to look at the overated pop singers of today they are aweful
Hi Maunalee AJ has a new song coming out Friday called 7th Heaven just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't heard, also if you get the time could you do her version of "You make me feel so Young" with an added touch could you dress retro for it. Come on it would be FUN!!!
This coming from a ball shaker
Again....she was just a 12 year old kid.
That is Ivan Mendez, Angelina's L.A. guitarist.
just to add more info.
I see others have filled you in on Ivan, but so far no one has mentioned that he's a talented singer as well an has his own UA-cam channel at ua-cam.com/users/iv4nl1v3z
Thanks for the reaction.
Joanna
She needs to start writing her own music doing covers all the time just don't cut it

Very poor choice to react to her voice. Thank you for not trying to do that. This is one for her fans to share because they love her and she them.
